Lucas 12

1Ajuntando-se entretanto muitos milhares de pessoas, de sorte que se atropelavam uns aos outros, começou a dizer aos seus discípulos: Acautelai-vos primeiramente do fermento dos fariseus, que é a hipocrisia.

1In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2Mas nada há encoberto que não haja de ser descoberto; nem oculto, que não haja de ser sabido.

2For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

3Porquanto tudo o que em trevas dissestes, à luz será ouvido; e o que falastes ao ouvido no gabinete, sobre os telhados será apregoado.

3Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

4E digo-vos, amigos meus: Não temais os que matam o corpo e, depois, não têm mais que fazer.

4And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5Mas eu vos mostrarei a quem deveis temer; temei aquele que, depois de matar, tem poder para lançar no inferno; sim, vos digo, a esse temei.

5But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

6Não se vendem cinco passarinhos por dois ceitis? E nenhum deles está esquecido diante de Deus.

6Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

7E até os cabelos da vossa cabeça estão todos contados. Não temais pois; mais valeis vós do que muitos passarinhos.

7But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

8E digo-vos que todo aquele que me confessar diante dos homens também o Filho do homem o confessará diante dos anjos de Deus.

8Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

9Mas quem me negar diante dos homens será negado diante dos anjos de Deus.

9But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

10E a todo aquele que disser uma palavra contra o Filho do homem ser-lhe-á perdoada, mas ao que blasfemar contra o Espírito Santo não lhe será perdoado.

10And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

11E, quando vos conduzirem às sinagogas, aos magistrados e potestades, não estejais solícitos de como ou do que haveis de responder, nem do que haveis de dizer.

11And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and {unto} magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

12Porque na mesma hora vos ensinará o Espírito Santo o que vos convenha falar.

12For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

13E disse-lhe um da multidão: Mestre, dize a meu irmão que reparta comigo a herança.

13And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

14Mas ele lhe disse: Homem, quem me pôs a mim por juiz ou repartidor entre vós?

14And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

15E disse-lhes: Acautelai-vos e guardai-vos da avareza; porque a vida de qualquer não consiste na abundância do que possui.

15And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

16E propôs-lhe uma parábola, dizendo: A herdade de um homem rico tinha produzido com abundância;

16And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

17E arrazoava ele entre si, dizendo: Que farei? Não tenho onde recolher os meus frutos.

17And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

18E disse: Farei isto: Derrubarei os meus celeiros, e edificarei outros maiores, e ali recolherei todas as minhas novidades e os meus bens;

18And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

19E direi a minha alma: Alma, tens em depósito muitos bens para muitos anos; descansa, come, bebe e folga.

19And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, {and} be merry.

20Mas Deus lhe disse: Louco! esta noite te pedirão a tua alma; e o que tens preparado, para quem será?

20But God said unto him, {Thou} fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? {thy...: Gr. do they require thy soul}

21Assim é aquele que para si ajunta tesouros, e não é rico para com Deus.

21So {is} he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

22E disse aos seus discípulos: Portanto vos digo: Não estejais apreensivos pela vossa vida, sobre o que comereis, nem pelo corpo, sobre o que vestireis.

22And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

23Mais é a vida do que o sustento, e o corpo mais do que as vestes.

23The life is more than meat, and the body {is more} than raiment.

24Considerai os corvos, que nem semeiam, nem segam, nem têm despensa nem celeiro, e Deus os alimenta; quanto mais valeis vós do que as aves?

24Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

25E qual de vós, sendo solícito, pode acrescentar um côvado à sua estatura?

25And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

26Pois, se nem ainda podeis as coisas mínimas, por que estais ansiosos pelas outras?

26If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

27Considerai os lírios, como eles crescem; não trabalham, nem fiam; e digo-vos que nem ainda Salomão, em toda a sua glória, se vestiu como um deles.

27Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

28E, se Deus assim veste a erva que hoje está no campo e amanhã é lançada no forno, quanto mais a vós, homens de pouca fé?

28If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more {will he clothe} you, O ye of little faith?

29Não pergunteis, pois, que haveis de comer, ou que haveis de beber, e não andeis inquietos.

29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. {neither...: or, live not in careful suspense}

30Porque as nações do mundo buscam todas essas coisas; mas vosso Pai sabe que precisais delas.

30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31Buscai antes o reino de Deus, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.

31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

32Não temais, ó pequeno rebanho, porque a vosso Pai agradou dar-vos o reino.

32Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33Vendei o que tendes, e dai esmolas. Fazei para vós bolsas que não se envelheçam; tesouro nos céus que nunca acabe, aonde não chega ladrão e a traça não rói.

33Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

34Porque, onde estiver o vosso tesouro, ali estará também o vosso coração.

34For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

35Estejam cingidos os vossos lombos, e acesas as vossas candeias.

35Let your loins be girded about, and {your} lights burning;

36E sede vós semelhantes aos homens que esperam o seu senhor, quando houver de voltar das bodas, para que, quando vier, e bater, logo possam abrir-lhe.

36And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

37Bem-aventurados aqueles servos, os quais, quando o Senhor vier, achar vigiando! Em verdade vos digo que se cingirá, e os fará assentar à mesa e, chegando-se, os servirá.

37Blessed {are} those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

38E, se vier na segunda vigília, e se vier na terceira vigília, e os achar assim, bem-aventurados são os tais servos.

38And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find {them} so, blessed are those servants.

39Sabei, porém, isto: que, se o pai de família soubesse a que hora havia de vir o ladrão, vigiaria, e não deixaria minar a sua casa.

39And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

40Portanto, estai vós também apercebidos; porque virá o Filho do homem à hora que não imaginais.

40Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

41E disse-lhe Pedro: Senhor, dizes essa parábola a nós, ou também a todos?

41Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

42E disse o Senhor: Qual é, pois, o mordomo fiel e prudente, a quem o senhor pôs sobre os seus servos, para lhes dar a tempo a ração?

42And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom {his} lord shall make ruler over his household, to give {them their} portion of meat in due season?

43Bem-aventurado aquele servo a quem o seu senhor, quando vier, achar fazendo assim.

43Blessed {is} that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

44Em verdade vos digo que sobre todos os seus bens o porá.

44Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

45Mas, se aquele servo disser em seu coração: O meu senhor tarda em vir; e começar a espancar os criados e criadas, e a comer, e a beber, e a embriagar-se,

45But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

46Virá o senhor daquele servo no dia em que o não espera, e numa hora que ele não sabe, e separá-lo-á, e lhe dará a sua parte com os infiéis.

46The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for {him}, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. {cut...: or, cut him off}

47E o servo que soube a vontade do seu senhor, e não se aprontou, nem fez conforme a sua vontade, será castigado com muitos açoites;

47And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not {himself}, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many {stripes}.

48Mas o que a não soube, e fez coisas dignas de açoites, com poucos açoites será castigado. E, a qualquer que muito for dado, muito se lhe pedirá, e ao que muito se lhe confiou, muito mais se lhe pedirá.

48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few {stripes}. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

49Vim lançar fogo na terra; e que mais quero, se já está aceso?

49I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

50Importa, porém, que seja batizado com um certo batismo; e como me angustio até que venha a cumprir-se!

50But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! {straitened: or, pained}

51Cuidais vós que vim trazer paz à terra? Não, vos digo, mas antes dissensão;

51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52Porque daqui em diante estarão cinco divididos numa casa: três contra dois, e dois contra três.

52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53O pai estará dividido contra o filho, e o filho contra o pai; a mãe contra a filha, e a filha contra a mãe; a sogra contra sua nora, e a nora contra sua sogra.

53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54E dizia também à multidão: Quando vedes a nuvem que vem do ocidente, logo dizeis: Lá vem chuva, e assim sucede.

54And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

55E, quando assopra o sul, dizeis: Haverá calma; e assim sucede.

55And when {ye see} the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

56Hipócritas, sabeis discernir a face da terra e do céu; como não sabeis então discernir este tempo?

56{Ye} hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

57E por que não julgais também por vós mesmos o que é justo?

57Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

58Quando, pois, vais com o teu adversário ao magistrado, procura livrar-te dele no caminho; para que não suceda que te conduza ao juiz, e o juiz te entregue ao meirinho, e o meirinho te encerre na prisão.

58When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, {as thou art} in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

59Digo-te que não sairás dali enquanto não pagares o derradeiro ceitil.

59I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
