Livro de Jasher 91

1Naquela época, após a morte de Josué, os filhos dos cananeus ainda estavam na terra, e os israelitas resolveram expulsá-los.

1At that time, after the death of Joshua, the children of the Canaanites were still in the land, and the Israelites resolved to drive them out.

2E os filhos de Israel perguntaram ao Senhor, dizendo: Quem subirá primeiro por nós aos cananeus, para pelejar contra eles? e o Senhor disse: Judá subirá.

2And the children of Israel asked of the Lord, saying, Who shall first go up for us to the Canaanites to fight against them? and the Lord said, Judah shall go up.

3E os filhos de Judá disseram a Simeão: Suba conosco em nosso lote, e lutaremos contra os cananeus e nós também subiremos com você, em seu lote, então os filhos de Simeão foram com os filhos de Judá.

3And the children of Judah said to Simeon, Go up with us into our lot, and we will fight against the Canaanites and we likewise will go up with you, in your lot, so the children of Simeon went with the children of Judah.

4E os filhos de Judá subiram e lutaram contra os cananeus, então o Senhor entregou os cananeus nas mãos dos filhos de Judá, e eles os derrotaram em Bezeque, dez mil homens.

4And the children of Judah went up and fought against the Canaanites, so the Lord delivered the Canaanites into the hands of the children of Judah, and they smote them in Bezek, ten thousand men.

5E eles lutaram com Adonibezeque em Bezeque, e ele fugiu de diante deles, e eles o perseguiram e o pegaram, e o agarraram e cortaram seus polegares e dedões dos pés.

5And they fought with Adonibezek in Bezek, and he fled from before them, and they pursued him and caught him, and they took hold of him and cut off his thumbs and great toes.

6E Adonibezeque disse: Sessenta e dez reis tendo seus polegares e dedões cortados, reuniram sua carne debaixo da minha mesa, como eu fiz, então Deus me recompensou, e eles o trouxeram para Jerusalém e ele morreu lá.

6And Adonibezek said, Three score and ten kings having their thumbs and great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table, as I have done, so God has requited me, and they brought him to Jerusalem and he died there.

7E os filhos de Simeão foram com os filhos de Judá, e feriram os cananeus ao fio da espada.

7And the children of Simeon went with the children of Judah, and they smote the Canaanites with the edge of the sword.

8E o Senhor estava com os filhos de Judá, e eles possuiram o monte, e os filhos de José subiram a Betel, a mesma é Luz, e o Senhor estava com eles.

8And the Lord was with the children of Judah, and they possessed the mountain, and the children of Joseph went up to Bethel, the same is Luz, and the Lord was with them.

9E os filhos de José espiaram Betel, e os vigias viram um homem saindo da cidade, e o pegaram e disseram-lhe: Mostra-nos agora a entrada da cidade e mostraremos bondade para contigo.

9And the children of Joseph spied out Bethel, and the watchmen saw a man going forth from the city, and they caught him and said unto him, Show us now the entrance of the city and we will show kindness to thee.

10E aquele homem mostrou-lhes a entrada da cidade, e os filhos de José vieram e feriram a cidade ao fio da espada.

10And that man showed them the entrance of the city, and the children of Joseph came and smote the City with the edge of the sword.

11E o homem com sua família eles mandaram embora, e ele foi aos hititas e ele construiu uma cidade, e ele chamou o nome dela Luz, então todos os israelitas habitaram em suas cidades, e os filhos de Israel habitaram em suas cidades, e os filhos de Israel serviram ao Senhor todos os dias de Josué, e todos os dias dos anciãos, que prolongaram seus dias depois de Josué, e viram a grande obra do Senhor, que ele havia realizado para Israel.

11And the man with his family they sent away, and he went to the Hittites and he built a city, and he called the name thereof Luz, so all the Israelites dwelt in their cities, and the children at Israel dwelt in their cities, and the children of Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders, who had lengthened their days after Joshua, and saw the great work of the Lord, which he had performed for Israel.

12E os anciãos julgaram Israel depois da morte de Josué durante dezessete anos.

12And the elders judged Israel after the death of Joshua for seventeen years.

13E todos os anciãos também travaram as batalhas de Israel contra os cananeus e o Senhor expulsou os cananeus de diante dos filhos de Israel, a fim de colocar os israelitas em sua terra.

13And all the elders also fought the battles of Israel against the Canaanites and the Lord drove the Canaanites from before the children of Israel, in order to place the Israelites in their land.

14E ele cumpriu todas as palavras que havia falado a Abraão, Isaque e Jacó, e o juramento que havia feito de dar a eles e a seus filhos a terra dos cananeus.

14And he accomplished all the words which he had spoken to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the oath which he had sworn, to give to them and to their children, the land of the Canaanites.

15E o Senhor deu aos filhos de Israel toda a terra de Canaã, como havia jurado aos seus antepassados, e o Senhor deu-lhes descanso daqueles que os rodeavam, e os filhos de Israel habitaram em segurança nas suas cidades.

15And the Lord gave to the children of Israel the whole land of Canaan, as he had sworn to their ancestors, and the Lord gave them rest from those around them, and the children of Israel dwelt securely in their cities.

16Bendito seja o Senhor para sempre, amém e amém.

16Blessed be the Lord for ever, amen, and amen.

17Fortaleçam-se e que os corações de todos vocês que confiam no Senhor tenham bom ânimo.

17Strengthen yourselves, and let the hearts of all you that trust in the Lord be of good courage.
