Livro de Jasher 89

1Então Josué pronunciou este cântico, no dia em que o Senhor entregou os amorreus nas mãos de Josué e dos filhos de Israel, e disse à vista de todo o Israel:

1Then spoke Joshua this song, on the day that the Lord had given the Amorites into the hand of Joshua and the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of all Israel,

2Tu fizeste coisas poderosas, ó Senhor, realizaste grandes feitos; quem é como você? meus lábios cantarão o teu nome.

2Thou hast done mighty things, O Lord, thou hast performed great deeds; who is like unto thee? my lips shall sing to thy name.

3Minha bondade e minha fortaleza, minha torre alta, cantarei para ti um novo cântico, com ações de graças cantarei para ti, tu és a força da minha salvação.

3My goodness and my fortress, my high tower, I will sing a new song unto thee, with thanksgiving will I sing to thee, thou art the strength of my salvation.

4Todos os reis da terra te louvarão, os príncipes do mundo te cantarão, os filhos de Israel se regozijarão na tua salvação, eles cantarão e louvarão o teu poder.

4All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, the princes of the world shall sing to thee, the children of Israel shall rejoice in thy salvation, they shall sing and praise thy power.

5A ti, ó Senhor, confiamos; dissemos que tu és o nosso Deus, pois foste o nosso abrigo e torre forte contra os nossos inimigos.

5To thee, O Lord, did we confide; we said thou art our God, for thou wast our shelter and strong tower against our enemies.

6A ti clamamos e não nos envergonhamos, em ti confiamos e fomos libertos; quando clamamos a ti, ouviste a nossa voz, livraste as nossas almas da espada, mostraste-nos a tua graça, deste-nos a tua salvação, alegraste os nossos corações com a tua força.

6To thee we cried and were not ashamed, in thee we trusted and were delivered; when we cried unto thee, thou didst hear our voice, thou didst deliver our souls from the sword, thou didst show unto us thy grace, thou didst give unto us thy salvation, thou didst rejoice our hearts with thy strength.

7Tu saíste para a nossa salvação, com o teu braço redimiste o teu povo; tu nos respondeste desde os céus da tua santidade, tu nos salvaste de dez milhares de pessoas.

7Thou didst go forth for our salvation, with thine arm thou didst redeem thy people; thou didst answer us from the heavens of thy holiness, thou didst save us from ten thousands of people.

8O sol e a lua pararam no céu, e tu permaneceste em tua ira contra nossos opressores e ordenaste teus julgamentos sobre eles.

8The sun and moon stood still in heaven, and thou didst stand in thy wrath against our oppressors and didst command thy judgments over them.

9Todos os príncipes da terra se levantaram, os reis das nações se reuniram, não se comoveram na tua presença, desejaram as tuas batalhas.

9All the princes of the earth stood up, the kings of the nations had gathered themselves together, they were not moved at thy presence, they desired thy battles.

10Tu te levantaste contra eles na tua ira e descarregaste sobre eles a tua ira; tu os destruíste na tua ira e os exterminaste no teu coração.

10Thou didst rise against them in thine anger, and didst bring down thy wrath upon them; thou didst destroy them in thine anger, and cut them off in thine heart.

11As nações foram consumidas pela tua fúria, os reinos declinaram por causa da tua ira, tu feriste reis no dia da tua ira.

11Nations have been consumed with thy fury, kingdoms have declined because of thy wrath, thou didst wound kings in the day of thine anger.

12Derramaste sobre eles o teu furor, a tua cólera apoderou-se deles; tu lançaste sobre eles a sua iniqüidade e os exterminaste na sua maldade.

12Thou didst pour out thy fury upon them, thy wrathful anger took hold of them; thou didst turn their iniquity upon them, and didst cut them off in their wickedness.

13Eles armaram uma armadilha, caíram nela, na rede se esconderam, seu pé ficou preso.

13They did spread a trap, they fell therein, in the net they hid, their foot was caught.

14A tua mão estava preparada contra todos os teus inimigos que diziam: Pela sua espada possuiram a terra, pelo seu braço habitaram na cidade; encheste-lhes os rostos de vergonha, derrubaste-lhes os chifres no chão, aterrorizaste-os na tua ira e destruíste-os na tua ira.

14Thine hand was ready for all thine enemies who said, Through their sword they possessed the land, through their arm they dwelt in the city; thou didst fill their faces with shame, thou didst bring their horns down to the ground, thou didst terrify them in thy wrath, and didst destroy them in thine anger.

15A terra estremeceu e estremeceu ao som da tua tempestade sobre eles, tu não impediste suas almas da morte e desceste suas vidas para a sepultura.

15The earth trembled and shook at the sound of thy storm over them, thou didst not withhold their souls from death, and didst bring down their lives to the grave.

16Tu os perseguiste na tua tempestade, tu os consumiste no teu redemoinho, transformaste a chuva deles em granizo, eles caíram em poços profundos para que não pudessem subir.

16Thou didst pursue them in thy storm, thou didst consume them in thy whirlwind, thou didst turn their rain into hail, they fell in deep pits so that they could not rise.

17Suas carcaças pareciam lixo jogado no meio das ruas.

17Their carcasses were like rubbish cast out in the middle of the streets.

18Eles foram consumidos e destruídos na tua ira, tu salvaste o teu povo com a tua força.

18They were consumed and destroyed in thine anger, thou didst save thy people with thy might.

19Portanto nossos corações se regozijam em ti, nossas almas exaltam em tua salvação.

19Therefore our hearts rejoice in thee, our souls exalt in thy salvation.

20Nossas línguas relatarão o teu poder, cantaremos e louvaremos as tuas maravilhas.

20Our tongues shall relate thy might, we will sing and praise thy wondrous works.

21Pois você nos salvou de nossos inimigos, você nos libertou daqueles que se levantaram contra nós, você os destruiu diante de nós e os deprimiu sob nossos pés.

21For thou didst save us from our enemies, thou didst deliver us from those who rose up against us, thou didst destroy them from before us and depress them beneath our feet.

22Assim todos os teus inimigos perecerão, ó Senhor, e os ímpios serão como palha levada pelo vento, e teus amados serão como árvores plantadas junto às águas.

22Thus shall all thine enemies perish O Lord, and the wicked shall be like chaff driven by the wind, and thy beloved shall be like trees planted by the waters.

23Então Josué e todo o Israel com ele voltaram ao acampamento em Gilgal, depois de terem ferido todos os reis, de modo que não sobrou deles nenhum remanescente.

23So Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp in Gilgal, after having smitten all the kings, so that not a remnant was left of them.

24E os cinco reis fugiram sozinhos da batalha a pé, e se esconderam em uma caverna, e Josué os procurou no campo de batalha, e não os encontrou.

24And the five kings fled alone on foot from battle, and hid themselves in a cave, and Joshua sought for them in the field of battle, and did not find them.

25E depois foi dito a Josué, dizendo: Os reis foram encontrados e eis que estão escondidos numa caverna.

25And it was afterward told to Joshua, saying, The kings are found and behold they are hidden in a cave.

26E Josué disse: Designa homens para ficarem na entrada da caverna, para guardá-los, para que não se retirem; e os filhos de Israel fizeram isso.

26And Joshua said, Appoint men to be at the mouth of the cave, to guard them, lest they take themselves away; and the children of Israel did so.

27E Josué chamou a todo o Israel e disse aos oficiais de batalha: Colocai os pés sobre o pescoço destes reis, e Josué disse: Assim fará o Senhor com todos os vossos inimigos.

27And Joshua called to all Israel and said to the officers of battle, Place your feet upon the necks of these kings, and Joshua said, So shall the Lord do to all your enemies.

28E Josué ordenou depois que eles matassem os reis e os lançassem na caverna, e colocassem grandes pedras na entrada da caverna.

28And Joshua commanded afterward that they should slay the kings and cast them into the cave, and to put great stones at the mouth of the cave.

29E Josué foi depois com todo o povo que estava com ele naquele dia para Maquedá, e feriu-a ao fio da espada.

29And Joshua went afterward with all the people that were with him on that day to Makkedah, and he smote it with the edge of the sword.

30E ele destruiu totalmente as almas e todos os pertencentes à cidade, e fez ao rei e ao seu povo o que havia feito a Jericó.

30And he utterly destroyed the souls and all belonging to the city, and he did to the king and people thereof as he had done to Jericho.

31E ele passou dali para Libna e lutou contra ela, e o Senhor a entregou em sua mão, e Josué a feriu ao fio da espada, e todas as suas almas, e ele fez com ela e com seu rei como havia feito com Jericó.

31And he passed from there to Libnah and he fought against it, and the Lord delivered it into his hand, and Joshua smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls thereof, and he did to it and to the king thereof as he had done to Jericho.

32E de lá ele passou para Laquis para lutar contra ela, e Horam, rei de Gaza, subiu para ajudar os homens de Laquis, e Josué feriu ele e seu povo até que não sobrou nada para ele.

32And from there he passed on to Lachish to fight against it, and Horam king of Gaza went up to assist the men of Lachish, and Joshua smote him and his people until there was none left to him.

33E Josué tomou Laquis e todo o seu povo, e fez com eles como havia feito com Libna.

33And Joshua took Lachish and all the people thereof, and he did to it as he had done to Libnah.

34E Josué passou dali para Eglon, e ele tomou aquilo também, e feriu-o e a todo o seu povo ao fio da espada.

34And Joshua passed from there to Eglon, and he took that also, and he smote it and all the people thereof with the edge of the sword.

35E de lá ele passou para Hebron e lutou contra ele e o tomou e o destruiu totalmente, e ele voltou de lá com todo o Israel para Debir e lutou contra ele e o feriu ao fio da espada.

35And from there he passed to Hebron and fought against it and took it and utterly destroyed it, and he returned from there with all Israel to Debir and fought against it and smote it with the edge of the sword.

36E ele destruiu toda alma que havia nela, não deixou nenhuma restante, e fez com ela e com seu rei como havia feito com Jericó.

36And he destroyed every soul in it, he left none remaining, and he did to it and the king thereof as he had done to Jericho.

37E Josué feriu todos os reis dos amorreus, desde Cades-Barneia até Azá, e tomou imediatamente o país deles, porque o Senhor havia pelejado por Israel.

37And Joshua smote all the kings of the Amorites from Kadesh-barnea to Azah, and he took their country at once, for the Lord had fought for Israel.

38E Josué e todo o Israel chegaram ao acampamento em Gilgal.

38And Joshua with all Israel came to the camp to Gilgal.

39Quando naquele tempo Jabim, rei de Chazor, ouviu tudo o que Josué tinha feito aos reis dos amorreus, Jabim enviou a Jobat, rei de Midiã, e a Labão, rei de Sinrom, a Jefal, rei de Acshaf, e a todos os reis dos amorreus, dizendo:

39When at that time Jabin king of Chazor heard all that Joshua had done to the kings of the Amorites, Jabin sent to Jobat king of Midian, and to Laban king of Shimron, to Jephal king of Achshaph, and to all the kings of the Amorites, saying,

40Venha rapidamente até nós e ajude-nos, para que possamos ferir os filhos de Israel, antes que eles venham sobre nós e façam conosco o que fizeram com os outros reis dos amorreus.

40Come quickly to us and help us, that we may smite the children of Israel, before they come upon us and do unto us as they have done to the other kings of the Amorites.

41E todos esses reis deram ouvidos às palavras de Jabin, rei de Chazor, e eles saíram com todos os seus acampamentos, dezessete reis, e seu povo era tão numeroso quanto a areia na praia do mar, junto com cavalos e carros incontáveis, e eles vieram e acamparam juntos nas águas de Merom, e eles se reuniram para lutar contra Israel.

41And all these kings hearkened to the words of Jabin, king of Chazor, and they went forth with all their camps, seventeen kings, and their people were as numerous as the sand on the sea shore, together with horses and chariots innumerable, and they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, and they were met together to fight against Israel.

42E o Senhor disse a Josué: Não os temas, porque amanhã, a esta hora, os entregarei todos mortos diante de ti;

42And the Lord said to Joshua, Fear them not, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver them up all slain before you, thou shalt hough their horses and burn their chariots with fire.

43E Josué com todos os homens de guerra veio repentinamente sobre eles e os feriu, e eles caíram em suas mãos, porque o Senhor os havia entregue nas mãos dos filhos de Israel.

43And Joshua with all the men of war came suddenly upon them and smote them, and they fell into their hands, for the Lord had delivered them into the hands of the children of Israel.

44Então os filhos de Israel perseguiram todos estes reis com os seus acampamentos, e os feriram até que não restasse nenhum deles, e Josué fez com eles como o Senhor lhe tinha falado.

44So the children of Israel pursued all these kings with their camps, and smote them until there was none left of them, and Joshua did to them as the Lord had spoken to him.

45E Josué voltou naquele momento para Chazor e feriu-o com a espada e destruiu cada alma nele e queimou-o com fogo, e de Chazor, Josué passou para Shimron e feriu-o e destruiu-o completamente.

45And Joshua returned at that time to Chazor and smote it with the sword and destroyed every soul in it and burned it with fire, and from Chazor, Joshua passed to Shimron and smote it and utterly destroyed it.

46De lá ele passou para Acshaph e fez com ele o que havia feito com Shimron.

46From there he passed to Achshaph and he did to it as he had done to Shimron.

47De lá ele passou para Adulam e feriu todas as pessoas que estavam nele, e fez com Adulam o que havia feito com Acshaph e Shimron.

47From there he passed to Adulam and he smote all the people in it, and he did to Adulam as he had done to Achshaph and to Shimron.

48E ele passou deles para todas as cidades dos reis que ele havia ferido, e feriu todas as pessoas que restaram deles e os destruiu totalmente.

48And he passed from them to all the cities of the kings which he had smitten, and he smote all the people that were left of them and he utterly destroyed them.

49Apenas o seu espólio e o seu gado os israelitas tomaram para si como presa, mas a cada ser humano que feriram, não permitiram que uma alma vivesse.

49Only their booty and cattle the Israelites took to themselves as a prey, but every human being they smote, they suffered not a soul to live.

50Como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés, Josué e todo o Israel fizeram o mesmo; eles não falharam em nada.

50As the Lord had commanded Moses so did Joshua and all Israel, they failed not in anything.

51Assim Josué e todos os filhos de Israel feriram toda a terra de Canaã como o Senhor lhes ordenara, e feriram todos os seus reis, sendo trinta e um reis, e os filhos de Israel tomaram todo o seu país.

51So Joshua and all the children of Israel smote the whole land of Canaan as the Lord had commanded them, and smote all their kings, being thirty and one kings, and the children of Israel took their whole country.

52Além dos reinos de Siom e Ogue, que estão do outro lado do Jordão, dos quais Moisés havia destruído muitas cidades, e Moisés os deu aos rubenitas e aos gaditas e à metade da tribo de Manassés.

52Besides the kingdoms of Sihon and Og which are on the other side Jordan, of which Moses had smitten many cities, and Moses gave them to the Reubenites and the Gadites and to half the tribe of Manasseh.

53E Josué derrotou todos os reis que estavam deste lado do Jordão, para o oeste, e os deu por herança às nove tribos e à meia tribo de Israel.

53And Joshua smote all the kings that were on this side Jordan to the west, and gave them for an inheritance to the nine tribes and to the half tribe of Israel.

54Durante cinco anos Josué travou a guerra com esses reis e deu suas cidades aos israelitas, e a terra ficou tranquila devido à batalha em todas as cidades dos amorreus e dos cananeus.

54For five years did Joshua carry on the war with these kings, and he gave their cities to the Israelites, and the land became tranquil from battle throughout the cities of the Amorites and the Canaanites.
