1Adikam tinha vinte anos quando reinou sobre o Egito, reinou quatro anos.

1Adikam was twenty years old when he reigned over Egypt, he reigned four years.

2No duzentos e sexto ano da descida de Israel ao Egito, Adikam reinou sobre o Egito, mas ele não continuou seu reinado sobre o Egito por tanto tempo quanto seus pais continuaram seus reinados.

2In the two hundred and sixth year of Israel's going down to Egypt did Adikam reign over Egypt, but he continued not so long in his reign over Egypt as his fathers had continued their reigns.

3Pois Melol, seu pai, reinou noventa e quatro anos no Egito, mas esteve dez anos doente e morreu, porque tinha sido mau diante do Senhor.

3For Melol his father reigned ninety-four years in Egypt, but he was ten years sick and died, for he had been wicked before the Lord.

4E todos os egípcios chamaram o nome de Adikam Faraó como o nome de seus pais, como era costume fazer no Egito.

4And all the Egyptians called the name of Adikam Pharaoh like the name of his fathers, as was their custom to do in Egypt.

5E todos os sábios do Faraó chamaram o nome de Adikam Ahuz, abreviadamente chamado Ahuz na língua egípcia.

5And all the wise men of Pharaoh called the name of Adikam Ahuz, for short is called Ahuz in the Egyptian language.

6E Adikam era extremamente feio, e ele tinha um côvado e um palmo e tinha uma grande barba que chegava até a sola dos pés.

6And Adikam was exceedingly ugly, and he was a cubit and a span and he had a great beard which reached to the soles of his feet.

7E Faraó sentou-se no trono de seu pai para reinar sobre o Egito e conduziu o governo do Egito com sua sabedoria.

7And Pharaoh sat upon his father's throne to reign over Egypt, and he conducted the government of Egypt in his wisdom.

8E enquanto ele reinou, ele excedeu seu pai e todos os reis anteriores em maldade, e aumentou seu jugo sobre os filhos de Israel.

8And whilst he reigned he exceeded his father and all the preceding kings in wickedness, and he increased his yoke over the children of Israel.

9E ele foi com seus servos para Gósen, para os filhos de Israel, e fortaleceu o trabalho sobre eles e disse-lhes: Completem seu trabalho, a tarefa de cada dia, e não deixem suas mãos afrouxarem de nosso trabalho a partir de hoje, como vocês fizeram nos dias de meu pai.

9And he went with his servants to Goshen to the children of Israel, and he strengthened the labor over them and he said unto them, Complete your work, each day's task, and let not your hands slacken from our work from this day forward as you did in the days of my father.

10E ele colocou oficiais sobre eles dentre os filhos de Israel, e sobre esses oficiais ele colocou capatazes dentre seus servos.

10And he placed officers over them from amongst the children of Israel, and over these officers he placed taskmasters from amongst his servants.

11E colocou sobre eles uma medida de tijolos para que fizessem conforme aquele número, dia após dia, e voltou e foi para o Egito.

11And he placed over them a measure of bricks for them to do according to that number, day by day, and he turned back and went to Egypt.

12Naquele tempo, os capatazes de Faraó ordenaram aos oficiais dos filhos de Israel conforme a ordem de Faraó, dizendo:

12At that time the task-masters of Pharaoh ordered the officers of the children of Israel according to the command of Pharaoh, saying,

13Assim diz Faraó: Faça o seu trabalho cada dia, e termine a sua tarefa, e observe a medida diária dos tijolos; diminuir nada.

13Thus says Pharaoh, Do your work each day, and finish your task, and observe the daily measure of bricks; diminish not anything.

14E acontecerá que se você for deficiente em seus tijolos diários, colocarei seus filhos no lugar deles.

14And it shall come to pass that if you are deficient in your daily bricks, I will put your young children in their stead.

15E os capatazes do Egito fizeram naqueles dias como Faraó lhes havia ordenado.

15And the task-masters of Egypt did so in those days as Pharaoh had ordered them.

16E sempre que alguma deficiência era encontrada na medida dos tijolos diários dos filhos de Israel, os capatazes de Faraó iam até as esposas dos filhos de Israel e levavam os bebês dos filhos de Israel até o número de tijolos deficientes, eles os tiravam à força do colo de suas mães, e os colocavam no prédio em vez dos tijolos;

16And whenever any deficiency was found in the children of Israel's measure of their daily bricks, the task-masters of Pharaoh would go to the wives of the children of Israel and take infants of the children of Israel to the number of bricks deficient, they would take them by force from their mother's laps, and put them in the building instead of the bricks;

17Enquanto seus pais e mães choravam por eles e choravam, quando ouviram as vozes chorosas de seus bebês na parede do prédio.

17Whilst their fathers and mothers were crying over them and weeping when they heard the weeping voices of their infants in the wall of the building.

18E os capatazes prevaleceram sobre Israel, para que os israelitas colocassem seus filhos no edifício, de modo que um homem colocou seu filho na parede e colocou argamassa sobre ele, enquanto seus olhos choravam sobre ele, e suas lágrimas corriam sobre seu filho.

18And the task-masters prevailed over Israel, that the Israelites should place their children in the building, so that a man placed his son in the wall and put mortar over him, whilst his eyes wept over him, and his tears ran down upon his child.

19E os capatazes do Egito fizeram assim com os bebês de Israel por muitos dias, e ninguém teve pena ou teve compaixão dos bebês dos filhos de Israel.

19And the task-masters of Egypt did so to the babes of Israel for many days, and no one pitied or had compassion over the babes of the children of Israel.

20E o número de todas as crianças mortas no edifício foi duzentas e setenta, algumas sobre as quais eles construíram em vez dos tijolos que seus pais haviam deixado deficientes, e algumas sobre as quais eles retiraram mortas do edifício.

20And the number of all the children killed in the building was two hundred and seventy, some whom they had built upon instead of the bricks which had been left deficient by their fathers, and some whom they had drawn out dead from the building.

21E o trabalho imposto aos filhos de Israel nos dias de Adikam excedeu em dificuldades aquele que eles realizaram nos dias de seu pai.

21And the labor imposed upon the children of Israel in the days of Adikam exceeded in hardship that which they performed in the days of his father.

22E os filhos de Israel suspiravam todos os dias por causa do seu trabalho pesado, pois diziam a si mesmos: Eis que quando Faraó morrer, seu filho se levantará e aliviará o nosso trabalho!

22And the children of Israel sighed every day on account of their heavy work, for they had said to themselves, Behold when Pharaoh shall die, his son will rise up and lighten our work!

23Mas eles aumentaram o último trabalho mais do que o primeiro, e os filhos de Israel suspiraram com isso e seu clamor ascendeu a Deus por causa de seu trabalho.

23But they increased the latter work more than the former, and the children of Israel sighed at this and their cry ascended to God on account of their labor.

24E Deus ouviu a voz dos filhos de Israel e o seu clamor, naqueles dias, e Deus lembrou-se deles da sua aliança que tinha feito com Abraão, Isaque e Jacó.

24And God heard the voice of the children of Israel and their cry, in those days, and God remembered to them his covenant which he had made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

25E Deus viu o fardo dos filhos de Israel e seu trabalho pesado naqueles dias, e decidiu libertá-los.

25And God saw the burden of the children of Israel, and their heavy work in those days, and he determined to deliver them.

26E Moisés, filho de Amrão, ainda estava confinado na masmorra naqueles dias, na casa de Reuel, o midianita, e Zípora, filha de Reuel, sustentava-o secretamente com comida, dia após dia.

26And Moses the son of Amram was still confined in the dungeon in those days, in the house of Reuel the Midianite, and Zipporah the daughter of Reuel did support him with food secretly day by day.

27E Moisés ficou confinado na masmorra da casa de Reuel durante dez anos.

27And Moses was confined in the dungeon in the house of Reuel for ten years.

28E ao fim dos dez anos, que foi o primeiro ano do reinado de Faraó sobre o Egito, no lugar de seu pai,

28And at the end of ten years which was the first year of the reign of Pharaoh over Egypt, in the place of his father,

29Zípora disse a seu pai, Reuel: Ninguém pergunta ou procura pelo hebreu, a quem você prendeu na prisão há dez anos.

29Zipporah said to her father Reuel, No person inquires or seeks after the Hebrew man, whom thou didst bind in prison now ten years.

30Agora, portanto, se parece bem aos teus olhos, enviemo-lo e vejamos se ele está vivo ou morto, mas o pai dela não sabia que ela o havia apoiado.

30Now therefore, if it seem good in thy sight, let us send and see whether he is living or dead, but her father knew not that she had supported him.

31E respondeu Reuel, seu pai, e disse-lhe: Já aconteceu alguma vez que um homem fosse encerrado numa prisão, sem comida, durante dez anos, e vivesse?

31And Reuel her father answered and said to her, Has ever such a thing happened that a man should be shut up in a prison without food for ten years, and that he should live?

32E Zípora respondeu a seu pai, dizendo: Certamente ouviste que o Deus dos hebreus é grande e terrível, e faz maravilhas por eles em todos os momentos.

32And Zipporah answered her father, saying, Surely thou hast heard that the God of the Hebrews is great and awful, and does wonders for them at all times.

33Foi ele quem libertou Abraão de Ur dos Caldeus, e Isaque da espada de seu pai, e Jacó do anjo do Senhor que lutou com ele no vau de Jabuque.

33He it was who delivered Abraham from Ur of the Chaldeans, and Isaac from the sword of his father, and Jacob from the angel of the Lord who wrestled with him at the ford of Jabbuk.

34Também com este homem ele fez muitas coisas, ele o livrou do rio no Egito e da espada de Faraó, e dos filhos de Cush, assim também ele pode livrá-lo da fome e fazê-lo viver.

34Also with this man has he done many things, he delivered him from the river in Egypt and from the sword of Pharaoh, and from the children of Cush, so also can he deliver him from famine and make him live.

35E a coisa pareceu boa aos olhos de Reuel, e ele fez conforme a palavra de sua filha, e enviou à masmorra para saber o que aconteceu com Moisés.

35And the thing seemed good in the sight of Reuel, and he did according to the word of his daughter, and sent to the dungeon to ascertain what became of Moses.

36E ele viu, e eis que o homem Moisés estava morando na masmorra, de pé, louvando e orando ao Deus de seus antepassados.

36And he saw, and behold the man Moses was living in the dungeon, standing upon his feet, praising and praying to the God of his ancestors.

37E Reuel ordenou que Moisés fosse tirado da masmorra, então eles o barbearam e ele mudou suas roupas de prisão e comeu pão.

37And Reuel commanded Moses to be brought out of the dungeon, so they shaved him and he changed his prison garments and ate bread.

38E depois Moisés foi ao jardim de Reuel, que estava atrás da casa, e ali orou ao Senhor seu Deus, que havia feito maravilhas por ele.

38And afterward Moses went into the garden of Reuel which was behind the house, and he there prayed to the Lord his God, who had done mighty wonders for him.

39E foi que enquanto ele orava, ele olhou para o lado oposto e eis que uma vara de safira foi colocada no chão, a qual foi plantada no meio do jardim.

39And it was that whilst he prayed he looked opposite to him, and behold a sapphire stick was placed in the ground, which was planted in the midst of the garden.

40E ele se aproximou da vara e olhou, e eis que o nome do Senhor Deus dos Exércitos estava gravado nela, escrito e desenvolvido na vara.

40And he approached the stick and he looked, and behold the name of the Lord God of hosts was engraved thereon, written and developed upon the stick.

41E ele leu e estendeu a mão e arrancou-o como uma árvore da floresta do matagal, e o bastão estava em sua mão.

41And he read it and stretched forth his hand and he plucked it like a forest tree from the thicket, and the stick was in his hand.

42E esta é a vara com a qual todas as obras do nosso Deus foram realizadas, depois que ele criou o céu e a terra, e todo o seu exército, mares, rios e todos os seus peixes.

42And this is the stick with which all the works of our God were performed, after he had created heaven and earth, and all the host of them, seas, rivers and all their fishes.

43E quando Deus expulsou Adão do jardim do Éden, ele pegou a vara na mão e foi lavrar a terra de onde foi tirado.

43And when God had driven Adam from the garden of Eden, he took the stick in his hand and went and tilled the ground from which he was taken.

44E a vara desceu a Noé e foi dada a Sem e aos seus descendentes, até que chegou às mãos de Abraão, o hebreu.

44And the stick came down to Noah and was given to Shem and his descendants, until it came into the hand of Abraham the Hebrew.

45E quando Abraão deu tudo o que tinha a seu filho Isaque, ele também lhe deu esta vara.

45And when Abraham had given all he had to his son Isaac, he also gave to him this stick.

46E quando Jacó fugiu para Padan-aram, ele o pegou na mão e, quando voltou para seu pai, não o deixou para trás.

46And when Jacob had fled to Padan-aram, he took it into his hand, and when he returned to his father he had not left it behind him.

47Também quando desceu ao Egito, tomou-o na mão e deu-o a José, uma porção acima de seus irmãos, pois Jacó o havia tomado à força de seu irmão Esaú.

47Also when he went down to Egypt he took it into his hand and gave it to Joseph, one portion above his brethren, for Jacob had taken it by force from his brother Esau.

48E depois da morte de José, os nobres do Egito entraram na casa de José, e a vara caiu na mão de Reuel, o midianita, e quando ele saiu do Egito, tomou-a na mão e plantou-a no seu jardim.

48And after the death of Joseph, the nobles of Egypt came into the house of Joseph, and the stick came into the hand of Reuel the Midianite, and when he went out of Egypt, he took it in his hand and planted it in his garden.

49E todos os homens poderosos dos cinitas tentaram arrancá-lo quando tentaram obter Zípora, sua filha, mas não tiveram sucesso.

49And all the mighty men of the Kinites tried to pluck it when they endeavored to get Zipporah his daughter, but they were unsuccessful.

50Assim aquele bastão ficou plantado no jardim de Reuel, até que chegou aquele que tinha direito a ele e o tomou.

50So that stick remained planted in the garden of Reuel, until he came who had a right to it and took it.

51E quando Reuel viu a vara na mão de Moisés, ficou maravilhado e deu-lhe por esposa sua filha Zípora.

51And when Reuel saw the stick in the hand of Moses, he wondered at it, and he gave him his daughter Zipporah for a wife.
