1No final dos anos morreu Saul, rei de Edom, e Baal Chanan, filho de Acbor, reinou em seu lugar.

1In the end of years died Saul king of Edom, and Baal Chanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.

2No décimo sexto ano do reinado de Moisés sobre Cush, Baal Chanan, filho de Acbor, reinou na terra de Edom sobre todos os filhos de Edom durante trinta e oito anos.

2In the sixteenth year of the reign of Moses over Cush, Baal Chanan the son of Achbor reigned in the land of Edom over all the children of Edom for thirty-eight years.

3Nos seus dias, Moabe se rebelou contra o poder de Edom, estando sob o domínio de Edom desde os dias de Hadade, filho de Bedade, que os derrotou e a Midiã, e subjugou Moabe a Edom.

3In his days Moab rebelled against the power of Edom, having been under Edom since the days of Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote them and Midian, and brought Moab under subjection to Edom.

4E quando Baal Chanan, filho de Acbor, reinou sobre Edom, todos os filhos de Moabe retiraram sua lealdade de Edom.

4And when Baal Chanan the son of Achbor reigned over Edom, all the children of Moab withdrew their allegiance from Edom.

5E Angeas, rei da África, morreu naqueles dias, e Azdrubal, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

5And Angeas king of Africa died in those days, and Azdrubal his son reigned in his stead.

6E naqueles dias morreu Janeas, rei dos filhos de Chittim, e eles o enterraram em seu templo que ele havia construído para si na planície de Canopia como residência, e Latinus reinou em seu lugar.

6And in those days died Janeas king of the children of Chittim, and they buried him in his temple which he had built for himself in the plain of Canopia for a residence, and Latinus reigned in his stead.

7No vigésimo segundo ano do reinado de Moisés sobre os filhos de Cush, Latinus reinou sobre os filhos de Chittim quarenta e cinco anos.

7In the twenty-second year of the reign of Moses over the children of Cush, Latinus reigned over the children of Chittim forty-five years.

8E ele também construiu para si uma grande e poderosa torre, e construiu nela um elegante templo para sua residência, para conduzir seu governo, como era o costume.

8And he also built for himself a great and mighty tower, and he built therein an elegant temple for his residence, to conduct his government, as was the custom.

9No terceiro ano de seu reinado, ele fez uma proclamação a todos os seus homens habilidosos, que construíram muitos navios para ele.

9In the third year of his reign he caused a proclamation to be made to all his skilful men, who made many ships for him.

10E Latinus reuniu todas as suas forças, e eles vieram em navios, e foram lá para lutar com Azdrubal, filho de Angeas, rei da África, e eles vieram para a África e travaram batalha com Azdrubal e seu exército.

10And Latinus assembled all his forces, and they came in ships, and went therein to fight with Azdrubal son of Angeas king of Africa, and they came to Africa and engaged in battle with Azdrubal and his army.

11E Latinus prevaleceu sobre Azdrubal, e Latinus tirou de Azdrubal o aqueduto que seu pai havia trazido dos filhos de Chittim, quando ele tomou Janiah, filha de Uzi, como esposa, então Latinus derrubou a ponte do aqueduto e feriu todo o exército de Azdrubal com um golpe severo.

11And Latinus prevailed over Azdrubal, and Latinus took from Azdrubal the aqueduct which his father had brought from the children of Chittim, when he took Janiah the daughter of Uzi for a wife, so Latinus overthrew the bridge of the aqueduct, and smote the whole army of Azdrubal a severe blow.

12E os homens fortes restantes de Azdrubal se fortaleceram, e seus corações se encheram de inveja, e eles cortejaram a morte, e novamente se envolveram em batalha com Latinus, rei de Chittim.

12And the remaining strong men of Azdrubal strengthened themselves, and their hearts were filled with envy, and they courted death, and again engaged in battle with Latinus king of Chittim.

13E a batalha foi severa para todos os homens da África, e todos eles caíram feridos diante de Latinus e seu povo, e o rei Azdrubal também caiu naquela batalha.

13And the battle was severe upon all the men of Africa, and they all fell wounded before Latinus and his people, and Azdrubal the king also fell in that battle.

14E o rei Azdrubal tinha uma filha muito bonita, cujo nome era Ushpezena, e todos os homens da África bordavam sua imagem em suas vestes, por causa de sua grande beleza e aparência atraente.

14And the king Azdrubal had a very beautiful daughter, whose name was Ushpezena, and all the men of Africa embroidered her likeness on their garments, on account of her great beauty and comely appearance.

15E os homens de Latinus viram Ushpezena, a filha de Azdrubal, e louvaram-na a Latinus, seu rei.

15And the men of Latinus saw Ushpezena, the daughter of Azdrubal, and praised her unto Latinus their king.

16E Latinus ordenou que ela fosse trazida para ele, e Latinus tomou Ushpezena como esposa, e ele voltou a caminho de Chittim.

16And Latinus ordered her to be brought to him, and Latinus took Ushpezena for a wife, and he turned back on his way to Chittim.

17E foi depois da morte de Azdrubal, filho de Angeas, quando Latinus voltou da batalha para sua terra, que todos os habitantes da África se levantaram e tomaram Aníbal, filho de Angeas, o irmão mais novo de Azdrubal, e o fizeram rei, em vez de seu irmão, sobre toda a terra da África.

17And it was after the death of Azdrubal son of Angeas, when Latinus had turned back to his land from the battle, that all the inhabitants of Africa rose up and took Anibal the son of Angeas, the younger brother of Azdrubal, and made him king instead at his brother over the whole land at Africa.

18E quando ele reinou, ele resolveu ir para Chittim para lutar com os filhos de Chittim, para vingar a causa de Azdrubal, seu irmão, e a causa dos habitantes da África, e ele o fez.

18And when he reigned, he resolved to go to Chittim to fight with the children of Chittim, to avenge the cause of Azdrubal his brother, and the cause of the inhabitants of Africa, and he did so.

19E ele fez muitos navios, e ele entrou neles com todo o seu exército, e foi para Chittim.

19And he made many ships, and he came therein with his whole army, and he went to Chittim.

20Então Aníbal lutou com os filhos de Quitim, e os filhos de Quitim caíram feridos diante de Aníbal e seu exército, e Aníbal vingou a causa de seu irmão.

20So Anibal fought with the children of Chittim, and the children of Chittim fell wounded before Anibal and his army, and Anibal avenged his brother's cause.

21E Aníbal continuou a guerra por dezoito anos com os filhos de Quitim, e Aníbal habitou na terra de Quitim e acampou lá por muito tempo.

21And Anibal continued the war for eighteen years with the children of Chittim, and Anibal dwelt in the land of Chittim and encamped there for a long time.

22E Aníbal feriu os filhos de Quitim muito severamente, e ele matou seus grandes homens e príncipes, e do resto do povo ele feriu cerca de oitenta mil homens.

22And Anibal smote the children of Chittim very severely, and he slew their great men and princes, and of the rest of the people he smote about eighty thousand men.

23E no final dos dias e anos, Aníbal regressou à sua terra de África, e reinou com segurança no lugar de Azdrubal, seu irmão.

23And at the end of days and years, Anibal returned to his land of Africa, and he reigned securely in the place of Azdrubal his brother.
