1E no terceiro ano desde o nascimento de Moisés, Faraó estava sentado em um banquete, quando Alparanith, a rainha, estava sentada à sua direita e Bathia à sua esquerda, e o jovem Moisés estava deitado em seu colo, e Balaão, filho de Beor, com seus dois filhos, e todos os príncipes do reino estavam sentados à mesa na presença do rei.

1And in the third year from the birth of Moses, Pharaoh was sitting at a banquet, when Alparanith the queen was sitting at his right and Bathia at his left, and the lad Moses was lying upon her bosom, and Balaam the son of Beor with his two sons, and all the princes of the kingdom were sitting at table in the king's presence.

2E o rapaz estendeu a mão sobre a cabeça do rei, e tirou a coroa da cabeça do rei e colocou-a na sua própria cabeça.

2And the lad stretched forth his hand upon the king's head, and took the crown from the king's head and placed it on his own head.

3E quando o rei e os príncipes viram o trabalho que o menino tinha feito, o rei e os príncipes ficaram aterrorizados, e um homem ao seu vizinho expressou espanto.

3And when the king and princes saw the work which the boy had done, the king and princes were terrified, and one man to his neighbor expressed astonishment.

4E o rei disse aos príncipes que estavam diante dele à mesa: O que vocês falam e o que dizem vocês, ó príncipes, neste assunto, e qual será o julgamento contra o menino por causa deste ato?

4And the king said unto the princes who were before him at table, What speak you and what say you, O ye princes, in this matter, and what is to be the judgment against the boy on account of this act?

5E Balaão, filho de Beor, o mago, respondeu perante o rei e os príncipes, e disse: Lembra-te agora, ó meu senhor e rei, do sonho que sonhaste muitos dias desde então, e que teu servo te interpretou.

5And Balaam the son of Beor the magician answered before the king and princes, and he said, Remember now, O my lord and king, the dream which thou didst dream many days since, and that which thy servant interpreted unto thee.

6Agora, portanto, este é um filho dos filhos hebreus, em quem está o espírito de Deus, e não deixe meu senhor, o rei, imaginar que este jovem fez isso sem conhecimento.

6Now therefore this is a child from the Hebrew children, in whom is the spirit of God, and let not my lord the king imagine that this youngster did this thing without knowledge.

7Pois ele é um menino hebreu, e a sabedoria e o entendimento estão com ele, embora ele ainda seja uma criança, e com sabedoria ele fez isso e escolheu para si o reino do Egito.

7For he is a Hebrew boy, and wisdom and understanding are with him, although he is yet a child, and with wisdom has he done this and chosen unto himself the kingdom of Egypt.

8Pois esta é a maneira de todos os hebreus enganarem os reis e seus nobres, fazendo todas essas coisas astuciosamente, a fim de fazer tremerem os reis da terra e seus homens.

8For this is the manner of all the Hebrews to deceive kings and their nobles, to do all these things cunningly, in order to make the kings of the earth and their men tremble.

9Certamente você sabe que Abraão, seu pai, agiu assim, enganando o exército de Nimrod, rei de Babel, e Abimeleque, rei de Gerar, e que ele se apossou da terra dos filhos de Hete e de todos os reinos de Canaã.

9Surely thou knowest that Abraham their father acted thus, who deceived the army of Nimrod king of Babel, and Abimelech king of Gerar, and that he possessed himself of the land of the children of Heth and all the kingdoms of Canaan.

10E que ele desceu ao Egito e disse de Sara, sua esposa, ela é minha irmã, para enganar o Egito e seu rei.

10And that he descended into Egypt and said of Sarah his wife, she is my sister, in order to mislead Egypt and her king.

11Seu filho Isaque também fez o mesmo quando foi para Gerar e habitou lá, e sua força prevaleceu sobre o exército de Abimeleque, rei dos filisteus.

11His son Isaac also did so when he went to Gerar and dwelt there, and his strength prevailed over the army of Abimelech king of the Philistines.

12Ele também pensou em fazer tropeçar o reino dos filisteus, ao dizer que Rebeca, sua esposa, era sua irmã.

12He also thought of making the kingdom of the Philistines stumble, in saying that Rebecca his wife was his sister.

13Jacó também agiu traiçoeiramente com seu irmão e tirou de sua mão sua primogenitura e sua bênção.

13Jacob also dealt treacherously with his brother, and took from his hand his birthright and his blessing.

14Ele foi então para Padan-aram, para a casa de Labão, irmão de sua mãe, e astuciosamente obteve dele sua filha, seu gado e tudo o que pertencia a ele, e fugiu e voltou para a terra de Canaã para seu pai.

14He went then to Padan-aram to the house of Laban his mother's brother, and cunningly obtained from him his daughter, his cattle, and all belonging to him, and fled away and returned to the land of Canaan to his father.

15Seus filhos venderam seu irmão José, que desceu ao Egito e se tornou escravo, sendo colocado na prisão por doze anos.

15His sons sold their brother Joseph, who went down into Egypt and became a slave, and was placed in the prison house for twelve years.

16Até que o ex-Faraó teve sonhos, e o retirou da prisão, e o engrandeceu acima de todos os príncipes do Egito por ter interpretado seus sonhos para ele.

16Until the former Pharaoh dreamed dreams, and withdrew him from the prison house, and magnified him above all the princes in Egypt on account of his interpreting his dreams to him.

17E quando Deus causou fome em toda a terra, ele mandou chamar e trouxe seu pai e todos os seus irmãos, e toda a família de seu pai, e os sustentou sem preço ou recompensa, e comprou os egípcios como escravos.

17And when God caused a famine throughout the land he sent for and brought his father and all his brothers, and the whole of his father's household, and supported them without price or reward, and bought the Egyptians for slaves.

18Agora, portanto, meu senhor rei, eis que esta criança se levantou em seu lugar no Egito, para fazer de acordo com suas obras e para brincar com cada rei, príncipe e juiz.

18Now therefore my lord king behold this child has risen up in their stead in Egypt, to do according to their deeds and to trifle with every king, prince and judge.

19Se for do agrado do rei, vamos agora derramar seu sangue no chão, para que ele não cresça e tire o governo de tuas mãos, e a esperança do Egito pereça depois que ele reinar.

19If it please the king, let us now spill his blood upon the ground, lest he grow up and take away the government from thy hand, and the hope of Egypt perish after he shall have reigned.

20E Balaão disse ao rei: Além disso, chamemos todos os juízes do Egito e os seus sábios, e deixe-nos saber se a sentença de morte é devida a este menino, como disseste, e então o mataremos.

20And Balaam said to the king, Let us moreover call for all the judges of Egypt and the wise men thereof, and let us know if the judgment of death is due to this boy as thou didst say, and then we will slay him.

21E Faraó enviou e chamou todos os sábios do Egito e eles vieram diante do rei, e um anjo do Senhor veio entre eles, e ele era como um dos sábios do Egito.

21And Pharaoh sent and called for all the wise men of Egypt and they came before the king, and an angel of the Lord came amongst them, and he was like one of the wise men of Egypt.

22E o rei disse aos magos: Certamente ouvistes o que fez este menino hebreu que está em casa, e assim Balaão julgou o assunto.

22And the king said to the wise men, Surely you have heard what this Hebrew boy who is in the house has done, and thus has Balaam judged in the matter.

23Agora julgue você também e veja o que é devido ao menino pelo ato que cometeu.

23Now judge you also and see what is due to the boy for the act he has committed.

24E o anjo, que parecia um dos sábios de Faraó, respondeu e disse o seguinte, diante de todos os sábios do Egito e diante do rei e dos príncipes:

24And the angel, who seemed like one of the wise men of Pharaoh, answered and said as follows, before all the wise men of Egypt and before the king and the princes:

25Se for do agrado do rei que o rei mande chamar homens que tragam diante dele uma pedra de ônix e uma brasa de fogo e os coloquem diante da criança, e se a criança estender a mão e pegar a pedra de ônix, então saberemos que com sabedoria o jovem fez tudo o que fez e devemos matá-lo.

25If it please the king let the king send for men who shall bring before him an onyx stone and a coal of fire, and place them before the child, and if the child shall stretch forth his hand and take the onyx stone, then shall we know that with wisdom has the youth done all that he has done, and we must slay him.

26Mas se ele estender a mão sobre a brasa, então saberemos que não foi com conhecimento que ele fez isso, e ele viverá.

26But if he stretch forth his hand upon the coal, then shall we know that it was not with knowledge that he did this thing, and he shall live.

27E a coisa pareceu boa aos olhos do rei e dos príncipes, assim o rei fez conforme a palavra do anjo do Senhor.

27And the thing seemed good in the eyes of the king and the princes, so the king did according to the word of the angel of the Lord.

28E o rei ordenou que a pedra de ônix e o carvão fossem trazidos e colocados diante de Moisés.

28And the king ordered the onyx stone and coal to be brought and placed before Moses.

29E eles colocaram o menino diante deles, e o rapaz tentou estender a mão para a pedra de ônix, mas o anjo do Senhor pegou sua mão e colocou-a sobre o carvão, e o carvão se apagou em sua mão, e ele o levantou e colocou-o em sua boca, e queimou parte de seus lábios e parte de sua língua, e ele ficou pesado na boca e na língua.

29And they placed the boy before them, and the lad endeavored to stretch forth his hand to the onyx stone, but the angel of the Lord took his hand and placed it upon the coal, and the coal became extinguished in his hand, and he lifted it up and put it into his mouth, and burned part of his lips and part of his tongue, and he became heavy in mouth and tongue.

30E quando o rei e os príncipes viram isso, souberam que Moisés não havia agido com sabedoria ao tirar a coroa da cabeça do rei.

30And when the king and princes saw this, they knew that Moses had not acted with wisdom in taking off the crown from the king's head.

31Assim, o rei e os príncipes abstiveram-se de matar a criança, e Moisés permaneceu na casa do Faraó, crescendo, e o Senhor estava com ele.

31So the king and princes refrained from slaying the child, so Moses remained in Pharaoh's house, growing up, and the Lord was with him.

32E enquanto o menino estava na casa do rei, ele estava vestido de púrpura e cresceu entre os filhos do rei.

32And whilst the boy was in the king's house, he was robed in purple and he grew amongst the children of the king.

33E quando Moisés cresceu na casa do rei, Bathia, filha de Faraó, considerou-o como um filho, e toda a casa de Faraó o honrou, e todos os homens do Egito tiveram medo dele.

33And when Moses grew up in the king's house, Bathia the daughter of Pharaoh considered him as a son, and all the household of Pharaoh honored him, and all the men of Egypt were afraid of him.

34E ele diariamente saía e chegava à terra de Gósen, onde estavam seus irmãos, os filhos de Israel, e Moisés os via diariamente com falta de ar e trabalho duro.

34And he daily went forth and came into the land of Goshen, where his brethren the children of Israel were, and Moses saw them daily in shortness of breath and hard labor.

35E Moisés lhes perguntou, dizendo: Por que este trabalho vos é distribuído dia após dia?

35And Moses asked them, saying, Wherefore is this labor meted out unto you day by day?

36E eles lhe contaram tudo o que havia acontecido com eles e todas as injunções que Faraó lhes havia imposto antes de seu nascimento.

36And they told him all that had befallen them, and all the injunctions which Pharaoh had put upon them before his birth.

37E contaram-lhe todos os conselhos que Balaão, filho de Beor, tinha aconselhado contra eles, e o que também tinha aconselhado contra ele, para matá-lo, quando lhe tirou a coroa do rei da cabeça.

37And they told him all the counsels which Balaam the son of Beor had counselled against them, and what he had also counselled against him in order to slay him when he had taken the king's crown from off his head.

38E quando Moisés ouviu essas coisas, sua ira se acendeu contra Balaão, e ele procurou matá-lo, e ele estava emboscado para ele dia após dia.

38And when Moses heard these things his anger was kindled against Balaam, and he sought to kill him, and he was in ambush for him day by day.

39E Balaão teve medo de Moisés, e ele e seus dois filhos se levantaram e saíram do Egito, e fugiram e entregaram suas almas e se dirigiram para a terra de Cush, para Kikianus, rei de Cush.

39And Balaam was afraid of Moses, and he and his two sons rose up and went forth from Egypt, and they fled and delivered their souls and betook themselves to the land of Cush to Kikianus, king of Cush.

40E Moisés estava na casa do rei, saindo e entrando, o Senhor lhe deu graça aos olhos de Faraó, e aos olhos de todos os seus servos, e aos olhos de todo o povo do Egito, e eles amavam muito a Moisés.

40And Moses was in the king's house going out and coming in, the Lord gave him favor in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants, and in the eyes of all the people of Egypt, and they loved Moses exceedingly.

41E chegou o dia em que Moisés foi a Gósen para ver seus irmãos, ele viu os filhos de Israel em seus fardos e trabalhos duros, e Moisés ficou triste por causa deles.

41And the day arrived when Moses went to Goshen to see his brethren, that he saw the children of Israel in their burdens and hard labor, and Moses was grieved on their account.

42E Moisés voltou ao Egito e veio à casa de Faraó, e veio perante o rei, e Moisés se curvou diante do rei.

42And Moses returned to Egypt and came to the house of Pharaoh, and came before the king, and Moses bowed down before the king.

43E Moisés disse a Faraó: Rogo-te, meu senhor, vim buscar um pequeno pedido seu, não vire meu rosto vazio; e Faraó lhe disse: Fala.

43And Moses said unto Pharaoh, I pray thee my lord, I have come to seek a small request from thee, turn not away my face empty; and Pharaoh said unto him, Speak.

44E Moisés disse a Faraó: Seja dado aos teus servos, os filhos de Israel que estão em Gósen, um dia para descansarem neles do seu trabalho.

44And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Let there be given unto thy servants the children of Israel who are in Goshen, one day to rest therein from their labor.

45E o rei respondeu a Moisés e disse: Eis que levantei a tua face nesta coisa para atender ao teu pedido.

45And the king answered Moses and said, Behold I have lifted up thy face in this thing to grant thy request.

46E Faraó ordenou que se publicasse uma proclamação em todo o Egito e em Gósen, dizendo:

46And Pharaoh ordered a proclamation to be issued throughout Egypt and Goshen, saying,

47A vós, todos os filhos de Israel, assim diz o rei, durante seis dias fareis o vosso trabalho e trabalho, mas no sétimo dia descansareis, e não realizareis nenhum trabalho, assim fareis todos os dias, como ordenaram o rei e Moisés, filho de Bathia.

47To you, all the children of Israel, thus says the king, for six days you shall do your work and labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest, and shall not preform any work, thus shall you do all the days, as the king and Moses the son of Bathia have commanded.

48E Moisés se alegrou com esta coisa que o rei lhe havia concedido, e todos os filhos de Israel fizeram como Moisés lhes ordenara.

48And Moses rejoiced at this thing which the king had granted to him, and all the children of Israel did as Moses ordered them.

49Porque isto veio do Senhor para os filhos de Israel, porque o Senhor começou a lembrar-se dos filhos de Israel para salvá-los por amor de seus pais.

49For this thing was from the Lord to the children of Israel, for the Lord had begun to remember the children of Israel to save them for the sake of their fathers.

50E o Senhor estava com Moisés e a sua fama se espalhou por todo o Egito.

50And the Lord was with Moses and his fame went throughout Egypt.

51E Moisés tornou-se grande aos olhos de todos os egípcios e aos olhos de todos os filhos de Israel, buscando o bem para o seu povo Israel e falando palavras de paz a respeito deles ao rei.

51And Moses became great in the eyes of all the Egyptians, and in the eyes of all the children of Israel, seeking good for his people Israel and speaking words of peace regarding them to the king.
