Livro de Jasher 68

1E foi naquele momento que o espírito de Deus estava sobre Miriam, filha de Amram, irmã de Arão, e ela saiu e profetizou sobre a casa, dizendo: Eis que desta vez nos nascerá um filho de meu pai e de minha mãe, e ele salvará Israel das mãos do Egito.

1And it was at that time the spirit of God was upon Miriam the daughter of Amram the sister of Aaron, and she went forth and prophesied about the house, saying, Behold a son will be born unto us from my father and mother this time, and he will save Israel from the hands of Egypt.

2E quando Amram ouviu as palavras de sua filha, ele foi e levou sua esposa de volta para casa, depois de tê-la expulsado no momento em que Faraó ordenou que todos os filhos do sexo masculino da casa de Jacó fossem jogados na água.

2And when Amram heard the words of his daughter, he went and took his wife back to the house, after he had driven her away at the time when Pharaoh ordered every male child of the house of Jacob to be thrown into the water.

3Então Amram tomou Joquebede, sua esposa, três anos depois de tê-la expulsado, e ele foi até ela e ela concebeu.

3So Amram took Jochebed his wife, three years after he had driven her away, and he came to her and she conceived.

4E no final de sete meses desde a sua concepção ela deu à luz um filho, e toda a casa ficou cheia de grande luz, como a luz do sol e da lua no momento do seu brilho.

4And at the end of seven months from her conception she brought forth a son, and the whole house was filled with great light as of the light of the sun and moon at the time of their shining.

5E quando a mulher viu que o menino era bom e agradável à vista, escondeu-o durante três meses num quarto interior.

5And when the woman saw the child that it was good and pleasing to the sight, she hid it for three months in an inner room.

6Naqueles dias, os egípcios conspiraram para destruir todos os hebreus ali.

6In those days the Egyptians conspired to destroy all the Hebrews there.

7E as mulheres egípcias foram para Gósen, onde estavam os filhos de Israel, e carregaram nos ombros os seus filhos, os seus bebês que ainda não podiam falar.

7And the Egyptian women went to Goshen where the children of Israel were, and they carried their young ones upon their shoulders, their babes who could not yet speak.

8E naqueles dias, quando as mulheres dos filhos de Israel deram à luz, cada mulher escondeu seu filho de diante dos egípcios, para que os egípcios não soubessem de sua geração e não os destruíssem da terra.

8And in those days, when the women of the children of Israel brought forth, each woman had hidden her son from before the Egyptians, that the Egyptians might not know of their bringing forth, and might not destroy them from the land.

9E as mulheres egípcias vieram a Gósen e seus filhos que não podiam falar estavam sobre seus ombros, e quando uma mulher egípcia entrou na casa de uma mulher hebréia, seu bebê começou a chorar.

9And the Egyptian women came to Goshen and their children who could not speak were upon their shoulders, and when an Egyptian woman came into the house of a Hebrew woman her babe began to cry.

10E quando chorou a criança que estava no quarto interior atendeu, então as mulheres egípcias foram e contaram na casa do Faraó.

10And when it cried the child that was in the inner room answered it, so the Egyptian women went and told it at the house of Pharaoh.

11E Faraó enviou os seus oficiais para prenderem os meninos e matá-los; assim fizeram os egípcios com as mulheres hebréias todos os dias.

11And Pharaoh sent his officers to take the children and slay them; thus did the Egyptians to the Hebrew women all the days.

12E foi naquela época, cerca de três meses depois de Joquebede ter escondido seu filho, que a coisa foi conhecida na casa do Faraó.

12And it was at that time, about three months from Jochebed's concealment of her son, that the thing was known in Pharaoh's house.

13E a mulher apressou-se em levar seu filho antes que os oficiais chegassem, e ela tomou para ele uma arca de junco, e a revestiu com lodo e piche, e colocou a criança nela, e ela a colocou nas lajes à beira do rio.

13And the woman hastened to take away her son before the officers came, and she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein, and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.

14E sua irmã Miriam ficou de longe para saber o que lhe aconteceria e o que aconteceria com suas palavras.

14And his sister Miriam stood afar off to know what would be done to him, and what would become of her words.

15E Deus enviou naquele tempo um calor terrível na terra do Egito, que queimou a carne do homem como o sol em seu circuito, e oprimiu grandemente os egípcios.

15And God sent forth at that time a terrible heat in the land of Egypt, which burned up the flesh of man like the sun in his circuit, and it greatly oppressed the Egyptians.

16E todos os egípcios desceram para banhar-se no rio, por causa do calor consumidor que queimava as suas carnes.

16And all the Egyptians went down to bathe in the river, on account of the consuming heat which burned up their flesh.

17E Bathia, a filha do Faraó, também foi banhar-se no rio, devido ao calor intenso, e suas donzelas caminharam à beira do rio, e todas as mulheres do Egito também.

17And Bathia, the daughter of Pharaoh, went also to bathe in the river, owing to the consuming heat, and her maidens walked at the river side, and all the women of Egypt as well.

18E Bathia ergueu os olhos para o rio e viu a arca sobre a água e enviou sua criada para buscá-la.

18And Bathia lifted up her eyes to the river, and she saw the ark upon the water, and sent her maid to fetch it.

19E ela abriu e viu o menino, e eis que o bebê chorava, e ela teve compaixão dele, e disse: Este é um dos filhos hebreus.

19And she opened it and saw the child, and behold the babe wept, and she had compassion on him, and she said, This is one of the Hebrew children.

20E todas as mulheres do Egito que caminhavam à beira do rio desejaram dar-lhe de mamar, mas ele não quis mamar, porque isso vinha do Senhor, para que ele voltasse ao seio de sua mãe.

20And all the women of Egypt walking on the river side desired to give him suck, but he would not suck, for this thing was from the Lord, in order to restore him to his mother's breast.

21E Miriã, sua irmã, estava naquele momento entre as mulheres egípcias à beira do rio, e ela viu isso e disse à filha do Faraó: Devo ir buscar uma ama das mulheres hebreias, para que ela possa amamentar a criança para ti?

21And Miriam his sister was at that time amongst the Egyptian women at the river side, and she saw this thing and she said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and fetch a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

22E a filha de Faraó lhe disse: Vai, e foi a jovem e chamou a mãe do menino.

22And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go, and the young woman went and called the child's mother.

23E a filha de Faraó disse a Joquebede: Leva esta criança e amamenta-a para mim, e eu te pagarei o teu salário, duas moedas de prata por dia; e a mulher tomou a criança e amamentou-a.

23And Pharaoh's daughter said to Jochebed, Take this child away and suckle it for me, and I will pay thee thy wages, two bits of silver daily; and the woman took the child and nursed it.

24E no final de dois anos, quando a criança cresceu, ela o trouxe para a filha de Faraó, e ele era para ela como um filho, e ela chamou seu nome de Moisés, pois ela disse: Porque eu o tirei da água.

24And at the end of two years, when the child grew up, she brought him to the daughter of Pharaoh, and he was unto her as a son, and she called his name Moses, for she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

25E Amram, seu pai, chamou seu nome de Chabar, pois ele disse: Foi por ele que ele se associou com sua esposa, a quem ele havia rejeitado.

25And Amram his father called his name Chabar, for he said, It was for him that he associated with his wife whom he had turned away.

26E Joquebede, sua mãe, chamou seu nome de Jecutiel, porque, ela disse, eu esperei por ele no Todo-Poderoso, e Deus o restituiu a mim.

26And Jochebed his mother called his name Jekuthiel, Because, she said, I have hoped for him to the Almighty, and God restored him unto me.

27E Miriã, sua irmã, chamou-o de Jerede, pois desceu atrás dele até o rio para saber qual seria o seu fim.

27And Miriam his sister called him Jered, for she descended after him to the river to know what his end would be.

28E Arão, seu irmão, chamou seu nome de Abi Zanuch, dizendo: Meu pai deixou minha mãe e voltou para ela por sua causa.

28And Aaron his brother called his name Abi Zanuch, saying, My father left my mother and returned to her on his account.

29E Kehath, pai de Amram, chamou seu nome de Abigdor, porque por sua conta Deus reparou a brecha na casa de Jacó, para que eles não pudessem mais jogar seus filhos do sexo masculino na água.

29And Kehath the father of Amram called his name Abigdor, because on his account did God repair the breach of the house of Jacob, that they could no longer throw their male children into the water.

30E a ama deles chamou-lhe Abi Socho, dizendo: No seu tabernáculo esteve escondido três meses, por causa dos filhos de Cão.

30And their nurse called him Abi Socho, saying, In his tabernacle was he hidden for three months, on account of the children of Ham.

31E todo o Israel chamou-lhe o nome de Semaías, filho de Netanel, porque diziam: Nos seus dias Deus ouviu os seus clamores e os livrou dos seus opressores.

31And all Israel called his name Shemaiah, son of Nethanel, for they said, In his days has God heard their cries and rescued them from their oppressors.

32E Moisés estava na casa de Faraó, e foi para Bathia, filha de Faraó, como um filho, e Moisés cresceu entre os filhos do rei.

32And Moses was in Pharaoh's house, and was unto Bathia, Pharaoh's daughter, as a son, and Moses grew up amongst the king's children.
