Livro de Jasher 55

1E aconteceu depois disso que Jacó disse: Irei ver meu filho no Egito e então retornarei à terra de Canaã, da qual Deus havia falado a Abraão, pois não posso deixar a terra de meu local de nascimento.

1And it came to pass after this that Jacob said, I will go and see my son in Egypt and will then come back to the land of Canaan of which God had spoken unto Abraham, for I cannot leave the land of my birth-place.

2Eis que lhe veio a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: Desce ao Egito com toda a tua família e fica lá; não temas descer ao Egito, porque ali farei de ti uma grande nação.

2Behold the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, Go down to Egypt with all thy household and remain there, fear not to go down to Egypt for I will there make thee a great nation.

3E Jacó disse consigo: Irei ver meu filho, se o temor do seu Deus ainda está em seu coração entre todos os habitantes do Egito.

3And Jacob said within himself, I will go and see my son whether the fear of his God is yet in his heart amidst all the inhabitants of Egypt.

4E o Senhor disse a Jacó: Não tema José, pois ele ainda mantém sua integridade para me servir, como parecerá bom aos teus olhos, e Jacó se alegrou muito com relação a seu filho.

4And the Lord said unto Jacob, Fear not about Joseph, for he still retaineth his integrity to serve me, as will seem good in thy sight, and Jacob rejoiced exceedingly concerning his son.

5Naquela época, Jacó ordenou a seus filhos e sua família que fossem ao Egito de acordo com a palavra do Senhor para ele, e Jacó se levantou com seus filhos e toda a sua família, e ele saiu da terra de Canaã de Berseba, com alegria e alegria de coração, e eles foram para a terra do Egito.

5At that time Jacob commanded his sons and household to go to Egypt according to the word of the Lord unto him, and Jacob rose up with his sons and all his household, and he went out from the land of Canaan from Beersheba, with joy and gladness of heart, and they went to the land of Egypt.

6E aconteceu que quando eles chegaram perto do Egito, Jacó enviou Judá adiante dele a José para que ele pudesse mostrar-lhe uma situação no Egito, e Judá fez de acordo com a palavra de seu pai, e ele se apressou e correu e veio até José, e eles designaram para eles um lugar na terra de Gósen para toda a sua casa, e Judá voltou e veio pela estrada para seu pai.

6And it came to pass when they came near Egypt, Jacob sent Judah before him to Joseph that he might show him a situation in Egypt, and Judah did according to the word of his father, and he hastened and ran and came to Joseph, and they assigned for them a place in the land of Goshen for all his household, and Judah returned and came along the road to his father.

7E José aproveitou a carruagem, e reuniu todos os seus valentes e seus servos e todos os oficiais do Egito, a fim de ir ao encontro de seu pai Jacó, e o mandato de José foi proclamado no Egito, dizendo: Todos os que não forem ao encontro de Jacó morrerão.

7And Joseph harnessed the chariot, and he assembled all his mighty men and his servants and all the officers of Egypt in order to go and meet his father Jacob, and Joseph's mandate was proclaimed in Egypt, saying, All that do not go to meet Jacob shall die.

8E no dia seguinte José saiu com todo o Egito com um exército grande e poderoso, todos vestidos com roupas de linho fino e púrpura e com instrumentos de prata e ouro e com seus instrumentos de guerra com eles.

8And on the next day Joseph went forth with all Egypt a great and mighty host, all dressed in garments of fine linen and purple and with instruments of silver and gold and with their instruments of war with them.

9E todos eles foram ao encontro de Jacó com todos os tipos de instrumentos musicais, com tambores e tamboris, espalhando mirra e aloés por toda a estrada, e todos eles foram assim, e a terra tremeu com o seu grito.

9And they all went to meet Jacob with all sorts of musical instruments, with drums and timbrels, strewing myrrh and aloes all along the road, and they all went after this fashion, and the earth shook at their shouting.

10E todas as mulheres do Egito subiram aos telhados do Egito e às muralhas para encontrar Jacó, e na cabeça de José estava a coroa real de Faraó, pois Faraó a havia enviado a ele para vestir no momento de sua ida ao encontro de seu pai.

10And all the women of Egypt went upon the roofs of Egypt and upon the walls to meet Jacob, and upon the head of Joseph was Pharaoh's regal crown, for Pharaoh had sent it unto him to put on at the time of his going to meet his father.

11E quando José chegou a cinquenta côvados de seu pai, ele desceu da carruagem e caminhou em direção a seu pai, e quando todos os oficiais do Egito e seus nobres viram que José tinha ido a pé em direção a seu pai, eles também desceram e caminharam a pé em direção a Jacó.

11And when Joseph came within fifty cubits of his father, he alighted from the chariot and he walked toward his father, and when all the officers of Egypt and her nobles saw that Joseph had gone on foot toward his father, they also alighted and walked on foot toward Jacob.

12E quando Jacó se aproximou do acampamento de José, Jacó observou o acampamento que vinha em sua direção com José, e isso o agradou e Jacó ficou surpreso com isso.

12And when Jacob approached the camp of Joseph, Jacob observed the camp that was coming toward him with Joseph, and it gratified him and Jacob was astonished at it.

13E Jacó disse a Judá: Quem é aquele homem que vejo no acampamento do Egito, vestido com vestes reais, com uma roupa muito vermelha e uma coroa real na cabeça, que desceu de sua carruagem e vem em nossa direção? e Judá respondeu a seu pai, dizendo: Ele é teu filho, José, o rei; e Jacó se alegrou ao ver a glória de seu filho.

13And Jacob said unto Judah, Who is that man whom I see in the camp of Egypt dressed in kingly robes with a very red garment upon him and a royal crown upon his head, who has alighted from his chariot and is coming toward us? and Judah answered his father, saying, He is thy son Joseph the king; and Jacob rejoiced in seeing the glory of his son.

14E José chegou perto de seu pai e se curvou a seu pai, e todos os homens do acampamento se curvaram no chão com ele diante de Jacó.

14And Joseph came nigh unto his father and he bowed to his father, and all the men of the camp bowed to the ground with him before Jacob.

15E eis que Jacó correu e apressou-se para seu filho José e lançou-se sobre seu pescoço e beijou-o, e eles choraram, e José também abraçou seu pai e beijou-o, e eles choraram e todo o povo do Egito chorou com eles.

15And behold Jacob ran and hastened to his son Joseph and fell upon his neck and kissed him, and they wept, and Joseph also embraced his father and kissed him, and they wept and all the people of Egypt wept with them.

16E Jacó disse a José: Agora morrerei alegremente depois de ter visto a tua face, que ainda vives e com glória.

16And Jacob said unto Joseph, Now I will die cheerfully after I have seen thy face, that thou art still living and with glory.

17E os filhos de Jacó e suas esposas e seus filhos e seus servos, e toda a casa de Jacó choraram muito com José, e eles o beijaram e choraram muito com ele.

17And the sons of Jacob and their wives and their children and their servants, and all the household of Jacob wept exceedingly with Joseph, and they kissed him and wept greatly with him.

18E José e todo o seu povo voltaram depois para casa no Egito, e Jacó e seus filhos e todos os filhos de sua casa vieram com José para o Egito, e José os colocou na melhor parte do Egito, na terra de Gósen.

18And Joseph and all his people returned afterward home to Egypt, and Jacob and his sons and all the children of his household came with Joseph to Egypt, and Joseph placed them in the best part of Egypt, in the land of Goshen.

19E José disse a seu pai e a seus irmãos: Subirei e contarei a Faraó, dizendo: Meus irmãos e a família de meu pai e todos os que pertencem a eles vieram a mim e eis que estão na terra de Gósen.

19And Joseph said unto his father and unto his brethren, I will go up and tell Pharaoh, saying, My brethren and my father's household and all belonging to them have come unto me, and behold they are in the land of Goshen.

20E José fez isso e tomou de seus irmãos Rúben, Issacar Zebulom e seu irmão Benjamim e os colocou diante do Faraó.

20And Joseph did so and took from his brethren Reuben, Issachar Zebulun and his brother Benjamin and he placed them before Pharaoh.

21E José falou a Faraó, dizendo: Meus irmãos e a casa de meu pai e todos os que lhes pertencem, juntamente com seus rebanhos e gado, vieram a mim da terra de Canaã, para peregrinar no Egito; pois a fome os afligia.

21And Joseph spoke unto Pharaoh, saying, My brethren and my father's household and all belonging to them, together with their flocks and cattle have come unto me from the land of Canaan, to sojourn in Egypt; for the famine was sore upon them.

22E Faraó disse a José: Coloca teu pai e teus irmãos na melhor parte da terra, não retenhas deles tudo o que é bom, e faça-os comer da gordura da terra.

22And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Place thy father and brethren in the best part of the land, withhold not from them all that is good, and cause them to eat of the fat of the land.

23E José respondeu, dizendo: Eis que eu os coloquei na terra de Gósen, pois eles são pastores; portanto, deixe-os permanecer em Gósen para apascentar seus rebanhos, separados dos egípcios.

23And Joseph answered, saying, Behold I have stationed them in the land of Goshen, for they are shepherds, therefore let them remain in Goshen to feed their flocks apart from the Egyptians.

24E Faraó disse a José: Faz com teus irmãos tudo o que eles te disserem; e os filhos de Jacó curvaram-se diante de Faraó e saíram dele em paz, e José depois trouxe seu pai perante Faraó.

24And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Do with thy brethren all that they shall say unto thee; and the sons of Jacob bowed down to Pharaoh, and they went forth from him in peace, and Joseph afterward brought his father before Pharaoh.

25E Jacó veio e curvou-se a Faraó, e Jacó abençoou Faraó, e ele então saiu; e Jacó e todos os seus filhos, e toda a sua casa habitaram na terra de Gósen.

25And Jacob came and bowed down to Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and he then went out; and Jacob and all his sons, and all his household dwelt in the land of Goshen.

26No segundo ano, isto é, no centésimo trigésimo ano da vida de Jacó, José sustentou a seu pai e a seus irmãos, e a toda a casa de seu pai, com pão segundo os seus pequeninos, todos os dias da fome; não lhes faltou nada.

26In the second year, that is in the hundred and thirtieth year of the life of Jacob, Joseph maintained his father and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread according to their little ones, all the days of the famine; they lacked nothing.

27E José deu-lhes a melhor parte de toda a terra; o melhor do Egito teve todos os dias de José; e José também deu a eles e a toda a família de seu pai roupas e trajes, ano após ano; e os filhos de Jacó permaneceram seguros no Egito todos os dias de seu irmão.

27And Joseph gave unto them the best part of the whole land; the best of Egypt had they all the days of Joseph; and Joseph also gave unto them and unto the whole of his father's household, clothes and garments year by year; and the sons of Jacob remained securely in Egypt all the days of their brother.

28E Jacó sempre comia à mesa de José, Jacó e seus filhos não saíam da mesa de José nem de dia nem de noite, além do que os filhos de Jacó consumiam em suas casas.

28And Jacob always ate at Joseph's table, Jacob and his sons did not leave Joseph's table day or night, besides what Jacob's children consumed in their houses.

29E todo o Egito comeu pão da casa de José nos dias da fome, pois todos os egípcios venderam tudo o que lhes pertencia por causa da fome.

29And all Egypt ate bread during the days of the famine from the house of Joseph, for all the Egyptians sold all belonging to them on account of the famine.

30E José comprou todas as terras e campos do Egito por pão por conta de Faraó, e José forneceu pão a todo o Egito todos os dias da fome, e José coletou toda a prata e ouro que veio a ele pelo milho que eles compraram em toda a terra, e ele acumulou muito ouro e prata, além de uma imensa quantidade de pedras de ônix, bdélio e roupas valiosas que eles trouxeram para José de todas as partes da terra quando seu dinheiro foi gasto.

30And Joseph purchased all the lands and fields of Egypt for bread on the account of Pharaoh, and Joseph supplied all Egypt with bread all the days of the famine, and Joseph collected all the silver and gold that came unto him for the corn which they bought throughout the land, and he accumulated much gold and silver, besides an immense quantity of onyx stones, bdellium and valuable garments which they brought unto Joseph from every part of the land when their money was spent.

31E José tomou toda a prata e ouro que veio em sua mão, cerca de setenta e dois talentos de ouro e prata, e também pedras de ônix e bdélio em grande abundância, e José foi e os escondeu em quatro partes, e ele escondeu uma parte no deserto perto do mar Vermelho, e uma parte junto ao rio Perath, e a terceira e quarta parte ele escondeu no deserto oposto ao deserto da Pérsia e da Média.

31And Joseph took all the silver and gold that came into his hand, about seventy two talents of gold and silver, and also onyx stones and bdellium in great abundance, and Joseph went and concealed them in four parts, and he concealed one part in the wilderness near the Red sea, and one part by the river Perath, and the third and fourth part he concealed in the desert opposite to the wilderness of Persia and Media.

32E ele tomou parte do ouro e da prata que sobrou, e deu-os a todos os seus irmãos e a toda a casa de seu pai, e a todas as mulheres da casa de seu pai, e o resto ele trouxe à casa de Faraó, cerca de vinte talentos de ouro e prata.

32And he took part of the gold and silver that was left, and gave it unto all his brothers and unto all his father's household, and unto all the women of his father's household, and the rest he brought to the house of Pharaoh, about twenty talents of gold and silver.

33E José deu todo o ouro e prata que restaram a Faraó, e Faraó os colocou no tesouro, e os dias de fome cessaram depois disso na terra, e eles semearam e colheram em toda a terra, e obtiveram sua quantidade habitual ano após ano; não lhes faltou nada.

33And Joseph gave all the gold and silver that was left unto Pharaoh, and Pharaoh placed it in the treasury, and the days of the famine ceased after that in the land, and they sowed and reaped in the whole land, and they obtained their usual quantity year by year; they lacked nothing.

34E José habitou seguramente no Egito, e toda a terra estava sob seu conselho, e seu pai e todos os seus irmãos habitaram na terra de Gósen e tomaram posse dela.

34And Joseph dwelt securely in Egypt, and the whole land was under his advice, and his father and all his brethren dwelt in the land of Goshen and took possession of it.

35E José era muito idoso, avançado em dias, e seus dois filhos, Efraim e Manassés, permaneciam constantemente na casa de Jacó, junto com os filhos dos filhos de Jacó, seus irmãos, para aprender os caminhos do Senhor e sua lei.

35And Joseph was very aged, advanced in days, and his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, remained constantly in the house of Jacob, together with the children of the sons of Jacob their brethren, to learn the ways of the Lord and his law.

36E Jacó e seus filhos habitaram na terra do Egito, na terra de Gósen, e tomaram posse dela, e frutificaram e se multiplicaram nela.

36And Jacob and his sons dwelt in the land of Egypt in the land of Goshen, and they took possession in it, and they were fruitful and multiplied in it.
