Livro de Jasher 54

1E quando Judá viu o trato de José com eles, Judá se aproximou dele e arrombou a porta, e veio com seus irmãos diante de José.

1And when Judah saw the dealings of Joseph with them, Judah approached him and broke open the door, and came with his brethren before Joseph.

2E Judá disse a José: Não pareça isso grave aos olhos de meu senhor, pode teu servo, peço-te, falar uma palavra diante de ti? e José lhe disse: Fala.

2And Judah said unto Joseph, Let it not seem grievous in the sight of my lord, may thy servant I pray thee speak a word before thee? and Joseph said unto him, Speak.

3E Judá falou diante de José, e seus irmãos estavam ali diante deles; e Judá disse a José: Certamente, quando viemos pela primeira vez ao nosso senhor para comprar comida, tu nos consideraste como espiões da terra, e trouxemos Benjamim diante de ti, e ainda hoje zombas de nós.

3And Judah spoke before Joseph, and his brethren were there standing before them; and Judah said unto Joseph, Surely when we first came to our lord to buy food, thou didst consider us as spies of the land, and we brought Benjamin before thee, and thou still makest sport of us this day.

4Agora, portanto, ouça o rei minhas palavras e, peço-te, envie nosso irmão para que ele possa ir conosco até nosso pai, para que tua alma não pereça hoje com todas as almas dos habitantes do Egito.

4Now therefore let the king hear my words, and send I pray thee our brother that he may go along with us to our father, lest thy soul perish this day with all the souls of the inhabitants of Egypt.

5Você não sabe o que dois de meus irmãos, Simeão e Levi, fizeram à cidade de Siquém e a sete cidades dos amorreus, por causa de nossa irmã Diná, e também o que eles fariam por causa de seu irmão Benjamim?

5Dost thou not know what two of my brethren, Simeon and Levi, did unto the city of Shechem, and unto seven cities of the Amorites, on account of our sister Dinah, and also what they would do for the sake of their brother Benjamin?

6E eu, com a minha força, que sou maior e mais poderoso do que ambos, venho hoje sobre ti e sobre a tua terra se não estiveres disposto a enviar o nosso irmão.

6And I with my strength, who am greater and mightier than both of them, come this day upon thee and thy land if thou art unwilling to send our brother.

7Não ouviste o que nosso Deus, que nos escolheu, fez a Faraó por causa de Sara, nossa mãe, a quem ele tirou de nosso pai, que feriu ele e sua família com pesadas pragas, que até hoje os egípcios relatam essa maravilha uns aos outros? assim te fará o nosso Deus por causa de Benjamim, a quem hoje tiraste de seu pai, e por causa dos males que hoje amontoas sobre nós em tua terra; porque o nosso Deus se lembrará da sua aliança com o nosso pai Abraão e trará o mal sobre ti, porque hoje entristeceste a alma do nosso pai.

7Hast thou not heard what our God who made choice of us did unto Pharaoh on account of Sarah our mother, whom he took away from our father, that he smote him and his household with heavy plagues, that even unto this day the Egyptians relate this wonder to each other? so will our God do unto thee on account of Benjamin whom thou hast this day taken from his father, and on account of the evils which thou this day heapest over us in thy land; for our God will remember his covenant with our father Abraham and bring evil upon thee, because thou hast grieved the soul of our father this day.

8Agora, portanto, ouça minhas palavras que hoje te falei e envie nosso irmão para que ele vá embora, para que você e o povo de sua terra não morram pela espada, pois vocês não podem prevalecer sobre mim.

8Now therefore hear my words that I have this day spoken unto thee, and send our brother that he may go away lest thou and the people of thy land die by the sword, for you cannot all prevail over me.

9E José respondeu a Judá, dizendo: Por que abriste a tua boca e por que te glorias sobre nós, dizendo: A força está contigo? assim como Faraó vive, se eu ordenar a todos os meus valentes que lutem com você, certamente você e estes seus irmãos afundarão na lama.

9And Joseph answered Judah, saying, Why hast thou opened wide thy mouth and why dost thou boast over us, saying, Strength is with thee? as Pharaoh liveth, if I command all my valiant men to fight with you, surely thou and these thy brethren would sink in the mire.

10E Judá disse a José: Certamente convém a ti e ao teu povo temer-me; como vive o Senhor, se eu desembainhar minha espada uma vez, não a embainharei novamente até que hoje tenha matado todo o Egito, e começarei por ti e terminarei com Faraó, teu senhor.

10And Judah said unto Joseph, Surely it becometh thee and thy people to fear me; as the Lord liveth if I once draw my sword I shall not sheathe it again until I shall this day have slain all Egypt, and I will commence with thee and finish with Pharaoh thy master.

11E José respondeu e disse-lhe: Certamente a força não pertence só a ti; Eu sou mais forte e mais poderoso do que você, certamente se você desembainhar sua espada, eu a colocarei em seu pescoço e no pescoço de todos os seus irmãos.

11And Joseph answered and said unto him, Surely strength belongeth not alone to thee; I am stronger and mightier than thou, surely if thou drawest thy sword I will put it to thy neck and the necks of all thy brethren.

12E Judá lhe disse: Certamente, se eu hoje abrir minha boca contra ti, eu te engoliria, para que sejas destruído da terra e pereça hoje do teu reino. E José disse: Certamente, se abrires a tua boca, tenho poder e poder para fechar a tua boca com uma pedra até que não consigas pronunciar uma palavra; veja quantas pedras estão diante de nós, realmente posso pegar uma pedra e forçá-la em sua boca e quebrar suas mandíbulas.

12And Judah said unto him, Surely if I this day open my mouth against thee I would swallow thee up that thou be destroyed from off the earth and perish this day from thy kingdom. And Joseph said, Surely if thou openest thy mouth I have power and might to close thy mouth with a stone until thou shalt not be able to utter a word; see how many stones are before us, truly I can take a stone, and force it into thy mouth and break thy jaws.

13E Judá disse: Deus é testemunha entre nós, que até agora não desejamos lutar contigo, apenas dá-nos o nosso irmão e partiremos de ti; e José respondeu e disse: Vive Faraó, se todos os reis de Canaã se reunissem contigo, não o deves tirar da minha mão.

13And Judah said, God is witness between us, that we have not hitherto desired to battle with thee, only give us our brother and we will go from thee; and Joseph answered and said, As Pharaoh liveth, if all the kings of Canaan came together with you, you should not take him from my hand.

14Agora, portanto, vá para o seu pai, e seu irmão será meu escravo, pois ele roubou a casa do rei. E Judá disse: O que isso tem a ver com você ou com o caráter do rei, certamente o rei envia de sua casa, por toda a terra, prata e ouro, seja em presentes ou despesas, e você ainda fala sobre o seu copo que você colocou na bolsa de nosso irmão e diz que ele o roubou de você?

14Now therefore go your way to your father, and your brother shall be unto me for a slave, for he has robbed the king's house. And Judah said, What is it to thee or to the character of the king, surely the king sendeth forth from his house, throughout the land, silver and gold either in gifts or expenses, and thou still talkest about thy cup which thou didst place in our brother's bag and sayest that he has stolen it from thee?

15Deus não permita que nosso irmão Benjamim ou qualquer descendente de Abraão faça tal coisa para roubar de você ou de qualquer outra pessoa, seja rei, príncipe ou qualquer homem.

15God forbid that our brother Benjamin or any of the seed of Abraham should do this thing to steal from thee, or from any one else, whether king, prince, or any man.

16Agora, pois, cessa esta acusação, para que a terra inteira não ouça as tuas palavras, dizendo: Por um pouco de prata o rei do Egito brigou com os homens, e os acusou e tomou seu irmão como escravo.

16Now therefore cease this accusation lest the whole earth hear thy words, saying, For a little silver the king of Egypt wrangled with the men, and he accused them and took their brother for a slave.

17E José respondeu e disse: Toma para ti este cálice e sai de mim e deixa teu irmão como escravo, pois é julgamento de um ladrão ser escravo.

17And Joseph answered and said, Take unto you this cup and go from me and leave your brother for a slave, for it is the judgment of a thief to be a slave.

18E Judá disse: Por que não te envergonhas das tuas palavras, deixando nosso irmão e tomando o teu cálice? Certamente, se você nos der o seu cálice, ou mil vezes mais, não deixaremos nosso irmão pela prata que se acha na mão de qualquer homem, para que não morramos por ele.

18And Judah said, Why art thou not ashamed of thy words, to leave our brother and to take thy cup? Surely if thou givest us thy cup, or a thousand times as much, we will not leave our brother for the silver which is found in the hand of any man, that we will not die over him.

19E José respondeu: E por que você abandonou seu irmão e o vendeu por vinte moedas de prata até hoje, e por que então você não fará o mesmo com este seu irmão?

19And Joseph answered, And why did you forsake your brother and sell him for twenty pieces of silver unto this day, and why then will you not do the same to this your brother?

20E Judá disse: O Senhor é testemunha entre mim e ti que não desejamos as tuas batalhas; agora, portanto, dá-nos nosso irmão e partiremos de ti sem brigar.

20And Judah said, the Lord is witness between me and thee that we desire not thy battles; now therefore give us our brother and we will go from thee without quarreling.

21E José respondeu e disse: Se todos os reis da terra se reunirem, não poderão tirar o teu irmão da minha mão; e Judá disse: Que diremos a nosso pai, quando ele vir que nosso irmão não vem conosco e sofrerá por ele?

21And Joseph answered and said, If all the kings of the land should assemble they will not be able to take your brother from my hand; and Judah said, What shall we say unto our father, when he seeth that our brother cometh not with us, and will grieve over him?

22E José respondeu e disse: Isto é o que dirás a teu pai, dizendo: A corda foi atrás do balde.

22And Joseph answered and said, This is the thing which you shall tell unto your father, saying, The rope has gone after the bucket.

23E Judá disse: Certamente tu és rei, e por que falas estas coisas, dando um julgamento falso? ai do rei que é como tu.

23And Judah said, Surely thou art a king, and why speakest thou these things, giving a false judgment? woe unto the king who is like unto thee.

24E José respondeu e disse: Não há julgamento falso na palavra que falei por conta de seu irmão José, pois todos vocês o venderam aos midianitas por vinte moedas de prata, e todos vocês negaram isso a seu pai e disseram-lhe: Uma fera maligna o devorou, José foi despedaçado.

24And Joseph answered and said, There is no false judgment in the word that I spoke on account of your brother Joseph, for all of you sold him to the Midianites for twenty pieces of silver, and you all denied it to your father and said unto him, An evil beast has devoured him, Joseph has been torn to pieces.

25E Judá disse: Eis que o fogo de Sem arde em meu coração, agora queimarei toda a tua terra com fogo; e José respondeu e disse: Certamente tua cunhada Tamar, que matou teus filhos, apagou o fogo de Siquém.

25And Judah said, Behold the fire of Shem burneth in my heart, now I will burn all your land with fire; and Joseph answered and said, Surely thy sister-in-law Tamar, who killed your sons, extinguished the fire of Shechem.

26E Judá disse: Se eu arrancar um só fio de cabelo da minha carne, encherei todo o Egito com o seu sangue.

26And Judah said, If I pluck out a single hair from my flesh, I will fill all Egypt with its blood.

27E José respondeu e disse: Tal é o seu costume de fazer o que você fez com seu irmão a quem você vendeu, e você molhou seu casaco em sangue e o trouxe a seu pai para que ele pudesse dizer que uma besta maligna o devorou ​​​​e aqui está o sangue dele.

27And Joseph answered and said, Such is your custom to do as you did to your brother whom you sold, and you dipped his coat in blood and brought it to your father in order that he might say an evil beast devoured him and here is his blood.

28E quando Judá ouviu isso, ele ficou extremamente irado e sua ira queimou dentro dele, e havia diante dele naquele lugar uma pedra, cujo peso era de cerca de quatrocentos siclos, e a ira de Judá se acendeu e ele pegou a pedra com uma mão e lançou-a aos céus e pegou-a com a mão esquerda.

28And when Judah heard this thing he was exceedingly wroth and his anger burned within him, and there was before him in that place a stone, the weight of which was about four hundred shekels, and Judah's anger was kindled and he took the stone in one hand and cast it to the heavens and caught it with his left hand.

29E ele a colocou depois sob suas pernas, e sentou-se sobre ela com toda a sua força e a pedra foi transformada em pó pela força de Judá.

29And he placed it afterward under his legs, and he sat upon it with all his strength and the stone was turned into dust from the force of Judah.

30E José viu o ato de Judá e ficou com muito medo, mas ele ordenou a Manassá, seu filho, e ele também fez com outra pedra como o ato de Judá, e Judá disse a seus irmãos: Nenhum de vós diga, este homem é egípcio, mas por ter feito isso ele é da família de nosso pai.

30And Joseph saw the act of Judah and he was very much afraid, but he commanded Manassah his son and he also did with another stone like unto the act of Judah, and Judah said unto his brethren, Let not any of you say, this man is an Egyptian, but by his doing this thing he is of our father's family.

31E José disse: Não só a você é dada força, pois também somos homens poderosos, e por que você se orgulhará de todos nós? e Judá disse a José: Envia, peço-te, nosso irmão, e não destrua teu país hoje.

31And Joseph said, Not to you only is strength given, for we are also powerful men, and why will you boast over us all? and Judah said unto Joseph, Send I pray thee our brother and ruin not thy country this day.

32E José respondeu e disse-lhes: Ide e contai a vosso pai que uma fera maligna o devorou, como dissestes a respeito de vosso irmão José.

32And Joseph answered and said unto them, Go and tell your father, an evil beast hath devoured him as you said concerning your brother Joseph.

33E Judá falou a seu irmão Naftali, e ele lhe disse: Apresse-se, vá agora e conte todas as ruas do Egito e venha e diga-me; e Simeão disse-lhe: Não deixes que isto te seja um problema; agora irei ao monte e pegarei uma pedra grande do monte e a destruirei em todos os que estão no Egito, e matarei todos os que estiverem nele.

33And Judah spoke to his brother Naphtali, and he said unto him, Make haste, go now and number all the streets of Egypt and come and tell me; and Simeon said unto him, Let not this thing be a trouble to thee; now I will go to the mount and take up one large stone from the mount and level it at every one in Egypt, and kill all that are in it.

34E José ouviu todas estas palavras que seus irmãos falaram diante dele, e eles não sabiam que José as entendia, pois imaginavam que ele não sabia falar hebraico.

34And Joseph heard all these words that his brethren spoke before him, and they did not know that Joseph understood them, for they imagined that he knew not to speak Hebrew.

35E José teve muito medo das palavras de seus irmãos para que não destruíssem o Egito, e ele ordenou a seu filho Manassés, dizendo: Vai agora, apressa-te e reúne-me todos os habitantes do Egito, e todos os homens valentes, e deixe-os vir a mim agora a cavalo e a pé e com todos os tipos de instrumentos musicais, e Manassés foi e fez isso.

35And Joseph was greatly afraid at the words of his brethren lest they should destroy Egypt, and he commanded his son Manasseh, saying, Go now make haste and gather unto me all the inhabitants of Egypt, and all the valiant men together, and let them come to me now upon horseback and on foot and with all sorts of musical instruments, and Manasseh went and did so.

36E Naftali foi como Judá lhe havia ordenado, pois Naftali tinha pés leves como um dos cervos velozes, e ele atacava as espigas de milho e elas não quebravam sob ele.

36And Naphtali went as Judah had commanded him, for Naphtali was lightfooted as one of the swift stags, and he would go upon the ears of corn and they would not break under him.

37E ele foi e contou todas as ruas do Egito, e descobriu que eram doze, e ele veio apressadamente e contou a Judá, e Judá disse a seus irmãos: Apressem-se e coloquem sobre cada homem sua espada sobre seus lombos e nós passaremos pelo Egito, e feriremos todos eles, e não deixaremos nenhum remanescente permanecer.

37And he went and numbered all the streets of Egypt, and found them to be twelve, and he came hastily and told Judah, and Judah said unto his brethren, Hasten you and put on every man his sword upon his loins and we will come over Egypt, and smite them all, and let not a remnant remain.

38E Judá disse: Eis que destruirei três ruas com a minha força, e cada um destruirás uma rua; e quando Judá estava falando isso, eis que os habitantes do Egito e todos os homens poderosos vieram em direção a eles com todos os tipos de instrumentos musicais e com grande gritaria.

38And Judah said, Behold, I will destroy three of the streets with my strength, and you shall each destroy one street; and when Judah was speaking this thing, behold the inhabitants of Egypt and all the mighty men came toward them with all sorts of musical instruments and with loud shouting.

39E o número deles era de quinhentos cavaleiros e dez mil infantes, e quatrocentos homens que podiam lutar sem espada ou lança, apenas com as mãos e a força.

39And their number was five hundred cavalry and ten thousand infantry, and four hundred men who could fight without sword or spear, only with their hands and strength.

40E todos os homens poderosos vieram com grande tempestade e gritos, e todos eles cercaram os filhos de Jacó e os aterrorizaram, e o chão tremeu ao som de seus gritos.

40And all the mighty men came with great storming and shouting, and they all surrounded the sons of Jacob and terrified them, and the ground quaked at the sound of their shouting.

41E quando os filhos de Jacó viram essas tropas, ficaram com muito medo por suas vidas, e José fez isso para aterrorizar os filhos de Jacó para que ficassem tranqüilizados.

41And when the sons of Jacob saw these troops they were greatly afraid of their lives, and Joseph did so in order to terrify the sons of Jacob to become tranquilized.

42E Judá, vendo alguns de seus irmãos aterrorizados, disse-lhes: Por que estais com medo enquanto a graça de Deus está conosco? e quando Judá viu todo o povo do Egito cercando-os por ordem de José para aterrorizá-los, somente José lhes ordenou, dizendo: Não toqueis em nenhum deles.

42And Judah, seeing some of his brethren terrified, said unto them, Why are you afraid whilst the grace of God is with us? and when Judah saw all the people of Egypt surrounding them at the command of Joseph to terrify them, only Joseph commanded them, saying, Do not touch any of them.

43Então Judá apressou-se e desembainhou a espada, e soltou um grito alto e amargo, e feriu com a espada, e saltou no chão e ainda continuou a gritar contra todo o povo.

43Then Judah hastened and drew his sword, and uttered a loud and bitter scream, and he smote with his sword, and he sprang upon the ground and he still continued to shout against all the people.

44E quando ele fez isso, o Senhor fez com que o terror de Judá e de seus irmãos caísse sobre os homens valentes e sobre todo o povo que os cercava.

44And when he did this thing the Lord caused the terror of Judah and his brethren to fall upon the valiant men and all the people that surrounded them.

45E todos eles fugiram ao som da gritaria, e ficaram aterrorizados e caíram uns sobre os outros, e muitos deles morreram ao cair, e todos fugiram de diante de Judá e seus irmãos e de diante de José.

45And they all fled at the sound of the shouting, and they were terrified and fell one upon the other, and many of them died as they fell, and they all fled from before Judah and his brethren and from before Joseph.

46E enquanto eles estavam fugindo, Judá e seus irmãos os perseguiram até a casa de Faraó, e todos eles escaparam, e Judá sentou-se novamente diante de José e rugiu contra ele como um leão, e deu um grande e tremendo grito contra ele.

46And whilst they were fleeing, Judah and his brethren pursued them unto the house of Pharaoh, and they all escaped, and Judah again sat before Joseph and roared at him like a lion, and gave a great and tremendous shriek at him.

47E o grito foi ouvido à distância, e todos os habitantes de Sucote o ouviram, e todo o Egito tremeu ao som do grito, e também os muros do Egito e da terra de Gósen caíram com o tremor da terra, e Faraó também caiu de seu trono no chão, e também todas as mulheres grávidas do Egito e de Gósen abortaram quando ouviram o barulho do tremor, pois estavam com muito medo.

47And the shriek was heard at a distance, and all the inhabitants of Succoth heard it, and all Egypt quaked at the sound of the shriek, and also the walls of Egypt and of the land of Goshen fell in from the shaking of the earth, and Pharaoh also fell from his throne upon the ground, and also all the pregnant women of Egypt and Goshen miscarried when they heard the noise of the shaking, for they were terribly afraid.

48E Faraó mandou dizer: Que é isto que aconteceu hoje na terra do Egito? e eles vieram e contaram-lhe todas as coisas do começo ao fim, e Faraó ficou alarmado e maravilhou-se e teve muito medo.

48And Pharaoh sent word, saying, What is this thing that has this day happened in the land of Egypt? and they came and told him all the things from beginning to end, and Pharaoh was alarmed and he wondered and was greatly afraid.

49E seu pavor aumentou quando ouviu todas essas coisas e enviou a José, dizendo: Trouxeste-me os hebreus para destruir todo o Egito; o que você fará com aquele escravo ladrão? mande-o embora e deixe-o ir com seus irmãos, e não pereçamos por causa do mal deles, nós, você e todo o Egito.

49And his fright increased when he heard all these things, and he sent unto Joseph, saying, Thou hast brought unto me the Hebrews to destroy all Egypt; what wilt thou do with that thievish slave? send him away and let him go with his brethren, and let us not perish through their evil, even we, you and all Egypt.

50E se você não deseja fazer isso, jogue fora de você todas as minhas coisas valiosas e vá com eles para a terra deles, se você se deleitar nela, pois hoje eles destruirão todo o meu país e matarão todo o meu povo; até mesmo todas as mulheres do Egito abortaram devido aos seus gritos; veja o que eles fizeram apenas gritando e falando; além disso, se lutarem com a espada, destruirão a terra; agora, pois, escolhe o que desejas, seja eu ou os hebreus, seja o Egito ou a terra dos hebreus.

50And if thou desirest not to do this thing, cast off from thee all my valuable things, and go with them to their land, if thou delightest in it, for they will this day destroy my whole country and slay all my people; even all the women of Egypt have miscarried through their screams; see what they have done merely by their shouting and speaking, moreover if they fight with the sword, they will destroy the land; now therefore choose that which thou desirest, whether me or the Hebrews, whether Egypt or the land of the Hebrews.

51E eles vieram e contaram a José todas as palavras de Faraó que ele havia dito a respeito dele, e José ficou muito assustado com as palavras de Faraó e Judá e seus irmãos ainda estavam diante de José indignados e enfurecidos, e todos os filhos de Jacó rugiram contra José, como o rugido do mar e suas ondas.

51And they came and told Joseph all the words of Pharaoh that he had said concerning him, and Joseph was greatly afraid at the words of Pharaoh and Judah and his brethren were still standing before Joseph indignant and enraged, and all the sons of Jacob roared at Joseph, like the roaring of the sea and its waves.

52E José teve muito medo de seus irmãos e por causa de Faraó, e José procurou um pretexto para se dar a conhecer a seus irmãos, para que não destruíssem todo o Egito.

52And Joseph was greatly afraid of his brethren and on account of Pharaoh, and Joseph sought a pretext to make himself known unto his brethren, lest they should destroy all Egypt.

53E José ordenou a seu filho Manassés, e Manassés foi e se aproximou de Judá, e colocou a mão sobre seu ombro, e a ira de Judá se acalmou.

53And Joseph commanded his son Manasseh, and Manasseh went and approached Judah, and placed his hand upon his shoulder, and the anger of Judah was stilled.

54E Judá disse a seus irmãos: Nenhum de vós diga que este é o ato de um jovem egípcio, pois este é o trabalho da casa de meu pai.

54And Judah said unto his brethren, Let no one of you say that this is the act of an Egyptian youth for this is the work of my father's house.

55E José, vendo e sabendo que a ira de Judá havia se acalmado, aproximou-se para falar com Judá na linguagem da mansidão.

55And Joseph seeing and knowing that Judah's anger was stilled, he approached to speak unto Judah in the language of mildness.

56E José disse a Judá: Certamente você fala a verdade e hoje verificou suas afirmações a respeito de sua força, e que seu Deus, que se deleita em você, aumente seu bem-estar; mas diga-me verdadeiramente por que dentre todos os seus irmãos você briga comigo por causa do rapaz, já que nenhum deles me falou uma palavra a respeito dele.

56And Joseph said unto Judah, Surely you speak truth and have this day verified your assertions concerning your strength, and may your God who delighteth in you, increase your welfare; but tell me truly why from amongst all thy brethren dost thou wrangle with me on account of the lad, as none of them have spoken one word to me concerning him.

57E Judá respondeu a José, dizendo: Certamente tu deves saber que eu fui o fiador do rapaz para seu pai, dizendo: Se eu não o trouxesse até ele, carregaria sua culpa para sempre.

57And Judah answered Joseph, saying, Surely thou must know that I was security for the lad to his father, saying, If I brought him not unto him I should bear his blame forever.

58Por isso me aproximei de ti dentre todos os meus irmãos, pois vi que não estavas disposto a permitir que ele se afastasse de ti; agora, portanto, posso encontrar graça aos teus olhos para que você o envie para ir conosco, e eis que permanecerei como um substituto para ele, para servi-lo em tudo o que você desejar, pois onde quer que você me enviar, irei para servi-lo com grande energia.

58Therefore have I approached thee from amongst all my brethren, for I saw that thou wast unwilling to suffer him to go from thee; now therefore may I find grace in thy sight that thou shalt send him to go with us, and behold I will remain as a substitute for him, to serve thee in whatever thou desirest, for wheresoever thou shalt send me I will go to serve thee with great energy.

59Envie-me agora a um rei poderoso que se rebelou contra ti, e saberás o que farei a ele e à sua terra; embora ele possa ter cavalaria e infantaria ou um povo extremamente poderoso, matarei todos eles e trarei a cabeça do rei diante de ti.

59Send me now to a mighty king who has rebelled against thee, and thou shalt know what I will do unto him and unto his land; although he may have cavalry and infantry or an exceeding mighty people, I will slay them all and bring the king's head before thee.

60Você não sabe ou não ouviu que nosso pai Abraão e seu servo Eliezer feriram todos os reis de Elão com seus exércitos em uma noite, eles não deixaram nenhum remanescente? e desde aquele dia a força de nosso pai nos foi dada como herança, para nós e nossa semente para sempre.

60Dost thou not know or hast thou not heard that our father Abraham with his servant Eliezer smote all the kings of Elam with their hosts in one night, they left not one remaining? and ever since that day our father's strength was given unto us for an inheritance, for us and our seed forever.

61E José respondeu e disse: Tu falas a verdade e a falsidade não está em tua boca, pois também nos foi dito que os hebreus têm poder e que o Senhor seu Deus se deleita muito neles, e quem então poderá resistir diante deles?

61And Joseph answered and said, You speak truth, and falsehood is not in your mouth, for it was also told unto us that the Hebrews have power and that the Lord their God delighteth much in them, and who then can stand before them?

62Contudo, com esta condição enviarei o teu irmão, se tu trouxeres diante de mim o irmão dele, filho de sua mãe, de quem disseste que ele havia descido de ti para o Egito; e acontecerá que quando você me trouxer o irmão dele, eu o tomarei em seu lugar, porque nenhum de vocês foi fiador dele para seu pai, e quando ele vier a mim, então enviarei com vocês o irmão dele, de quem vocês foram fiador.

62However, on this condition will I send your brother, if you will bring before me his brother the son of his mother, of whom you said that he had gone from you down to Egypt; and it shall come to pass when you bring unto me his brother I will take him in his stead, because not one of you was security for him to your father, and when he shall come unto me, I will then send with you his brother for whom you have been security.

63E a ira de Judá se acendeu contra José quando ele falou isso, e seus olhos derramaram sangue de raiva, e ele disse a seus irmãos: Como este homem busca hoje a sua própria destruição e a de todo o Egito!

63And Judah's anger was kindled against Joseph when he spoke this thing, and his eyes dropped blood with anger, and he said unto his brethren, How doth this man this day seek his own destruction and that of all Egypt!

64E Simeão respondeu a José, dizendo: Não te dissemos a princípio que não sabíamos o local específico para onde ele foi, e se ele está vivo ou morto, e por que fala meu senhor assim sobre estas coisas?

64And Simeon answered Joseph, saying, Did we not tell thee at first that we knew not the particular spot to which he went, and whether he be dead or alive, and wherefore speaketh my lord like unto these things?

65E José, observando o semblante de Judá, percebeu que sua ira começou a acender quando ele lhe falou, dizendo: Traga-me seu outro irmão em vez deste irmão.

65And Joseph observing the countenance of Judah discerned that his anger began to kindle when he spoke unto him, saying, Bring unto me your other brother instead of this brother.

66E José disse a seus irmãos: Certamente você disse que seu irmão estava morto ou perdido, agora, se eu o chamasse hoje e ele viesse antes de você, você o daria para mim em vez de seu irmão?

66And Joseph said unto his brethren, Surely you said that your brother was either dead or lost, now if I should call him this day and he should come before you, would you give him unto me instead of his brother?

67E José começou a falar e a gritar: José, José, venha hoje diante de mim e apareça a teus irmãos e sente-se diante deles.

67And Joseph began to speak and call out, Joseph, Joseph, come this day before me, and appear to thy brethren and sit before them.

68And when Joseph spoke this thing before them, they looked each a different way to see from whence Joseph would come before them.

69E José observou todos os seus atos e disse-lhes: Por que olhais aqui e ali? Eu sou José, a quem você vendeu ao Egito; agora, portanto, não se entristeça por você ter me vendido, pois como sustento durante a fome, Deus me enviou antes de você.

69And Joseph observed all their acts, and said unto them, Why do you look here and there? I am Joseph whom you sold to Egypt, now therefore let it not grieve you that you sold me, for as a support during the famine did God send me before you.

70E seus irmãos ficaram aterrorizados com ele quando ouviram as palavras de José, e Judá ficou extremamente aterrorizado com ele.

70And his brethren were terrified at him when they heard the words of Joseph, and Judah was exceedingly terrified at him.

71E quando Benjamim ouviu as palavras de José, ele estava diante deles na parte interna da casa, e Benjamim correu até José, seu irmão, e o abraçou e caiu em seu pescoço, e eles choraram.

71And when Benjamin heard the words of Joseph he was before them in the inner part of the house, and Benjamin ran unto Joseph his brother, and embraced him and fell upon his neck, and they wept.

72E quando os irmãos de José viram que Benjamim havia caído ao pescoço de seu irmão e chorado com ele, eles também se lançaram sobre José e o abraçaram, e choraram muito com José.

72And when Joseph's brethren saw that Benjamin had fallen upon his brother's neck and wept with him, they also fell upon Joseph and embraced him, and they wept a great weeping with Joseph.

73E ouviu-se a voz na casa de José de que eles eram irmãos de José, e isso agradou muito a Faraó, pois ele tinha medo deles, para que não destruíssem o Egito.

73And the voice was heard in the house of Joseph that they were Joseph's brethren, and it pleased Pharaoh exceedingly, for he was afraid of them lest they should destroy Egypt.

74E Faraó enviou seus servos a José para felicitá-lo por seus irmãos que tinham vindo a ele, e todos os capitães dos exércitos e tropas que estavam no Egito vieram se alegrar com José, e todo o Egito se alegrou muito com os irmãos de José.

74And Pharaoh sent his servants unto Joseph to congratulate him concerning his brethren who had come to him, and all the captains of the armies and troops that were in Egypt came to rejoice with Joseph, and all Egypt rejoiced greatly about Joseph's brethren.

75E Faraó enviou seus servos a José, dizendo: Diga a teus irmãos que busquem todos os que lhes pertencem e deixe-os vir a mim, e eu os colocarei na melhor parte da terra do Egito, e eles fizeram isso.

75And Pharaoh sent his servants to Joseph, saying, Tell thy brethren to fetch all belonging to them and let them come unto me, and I will place them in the best part of the land of Egypt, and they did so.

76E José ordenou ao que estava encarregado de sua casa que trouxesse presentes e roupas para seus irmãos, e ele trouxe para eles muitas roupas, sendo mantos de realeza e muitos presentes, e José os dividiu entre seus irmãos.

76And Joseph commanded him that was set over his house to bring out to his brethren gifts and garments, and he brought out to them many garments being robes of royalty and many gifts, and Joseph divided them amongst his brethren.

77E ele deu a cada um de seus irmãos uma muda de roupas de ouro e prata, e trezentas peças de prata, e José ordenou que todos se vestissem com essas roupas e fossem levados perante Faraó.

77And he gave unto each of his brethren a change of garments of gold and silver, and three hundred pieces of silver, and Joseph commanded them all to be dressed in these garments, and to be brought before Pharaoh.

78E Faraó vendo que todos os irmãos de José eram homens valentes e de bela aparência, alegrou-se grandemente.

78And Pharaoh seeing that all Joseph's brethren were valiant men, and of beautiful appearance, he greatly rejoiced.

79E depois eles saíram da presença de Faraó para irem para a terra de Canaã, para seu pai, e seu irmão Benjamim estava com eles.

79And they afterward went out from the presence of Pharaoh to go to the land of Canaan, to their father, and their brother Benjamin was with them.

80E José se levantou e deu-lhes onze carros de Faraó, e José deu-lhes sua carruagem, na qual ele montou no dia em que foi coroado no Egito, para levar seu pai ao Egito; e José enviou a todos os filhos de seus irmãos, roupas de acordo com o seu número, e cem peças de prata para cada um deles, e ele também enviou roupas para as esposas de seus irmãos, das roupas das esposas do rei, e ele as enviou.

80And Joseph rose up and gave unto them eleven chariots from Pharaoh, and Joseph gave unto them his chariot, upon which he rode on the day of his being crowned in Egypt, to fetch his father to Egypt; and Joseph sent to all his brothers' children, garments according to their numbers, and a hundred pieces of silver to each of them, and he also sent garments to the wives of his brethren from the garments of the king's wives, and he sent them.

81E ele deu a cada um de seus irmãos dez homens para irem com eles à terra de Canaã para servi-los, para servir seus filhos e todos os que lhes pertenciam na vinda para o Egito.

81And he gave unto each of his brethren ten men to go with them to the land of Canaan to serve them, to serve their children and all belonging to them in coming to Egypt.

82E José enviou pela mão de seu irmão Benjamim dez roupas para seus dez filhos, uma porção acima do resto dos filhos dos filhos de Jacó.

82And Joseph sent by the hand of his brother Benjamin ten suits of garments for his ten sons, a portion above the rest of the children of the sons of Jacob.

83E ele enviou para cada um cinquenta peças de prata e dez carros por conta de Faraó, e ele enviou a seu pai dez jumentos carregados com todos os luxos do Egito, e dez jumentas carregadas de milho e pão e alimento para seu pai, e para todos os que estavam com ele como provisões para a estrada.

83And he sent to each fifty pieces of silver, and ten chariots on the account of Pharaoh, and he sent to his father ten asses laden with all the luxuries of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and nourishment for his father, and to all that were with him as provisions for the road.

84E ele enviou para sua irmã Diná roupas de prata e ouro, e incenso e mirra, e aloés e ornamentos femininos em grande abundância, e ele enviou os mesmos das esposas de Faraó para as esposas de Benjamim.

84And he sent to his sister Dinah garments of silver and gold, and frankincense and myrrh, and aloes and women's ornaments in great plenty, and he sent the same from the wives of Pharaoh to the wives of Benjamin.

85E ele deu a todos os seus irmãos, também às suas esposas, todos os tipos de pedras de ônix e bdélio, e de todas as coisas valiosas entre o grande povo do Egito, nada de todas as coisas caras sobrou, exceto o que José enviou para a casa de seu pai.

85And he gave unto all his brethren, also to their wives, all sorts of onyx stones and bdellium, and from all the valuable things amongst the great people of Egypt, nothing of all the costly things was left but what Joseph sent of to his father's household.

86E ele despediu seus irmãos, e eles foram, e ele enviou seu irmão Benjamim com eles.

86And he sent his brethren away, and they went, and he sent his brother Benjamin with them.

87E José saiu com eles para acompanhá-los no caminho até as fronteiras do Egito, e ordenou-lhes, no que diz respeito a seu pai e sua casa, que viessem ao Egito.

87And Joseph went out with them to accompany them on the road unto the borders of Egypt, and he commanded them concerning his father and his household, to come to Egypt.

88E ele lhes disse: Não briguem no caminho, pois esta coisa veio do Senhor para salvar um grande povo da fome, pois ainda haverá cinco anos de fome na terra.

88And he said unto them, Do not quarrel on the road, for this thing was from the Lord to keep a great people from starvation, for there will be yet five years of famine in the land.

89E ele lhes ordenou, dizendo: Quando vocês vierem para a terra de Canaã, não venham repentinamente diante de meu pai neste assunto, mas ajam com sua sabedoria.

89And he commanded them, saying, When you come unto the land of Canaan, do not come suddenly before my father in this affair, but act in your wisdom.

90E José deixou de comandá-los, e ele se virou e voltou para o Egito, e os filhos de Jacó foram para a terra de Canaã com alegria e alegria para seu pai Jacó.

90And Joseph ceased to command them, and he turned and went back to Egypt, and the sons of Jacob went to the land of Canaan with joy and cheerfulness to their father Jacob.

91E eles chegaram às fronteiras da terra e disseram uns aos outros: O que devemos fazer neste assunto diante de nosso pai, pois se formos repentinamente até ele e lhe contarmos o assunto, ele ficará muito alarmado com nossas palavras e não acreditará em nós.

91And they came unto the borders of the land, and they said to each other, What shall we do in this matter before our father, for if we come suddenly to him and tell him the matter, he will be greatly alarmed at our words and will not believe us.

92E eles seguiram até chegarem perto de suas casas, e encontraram Serach, a filha de Aser, saindo ao encontro deles, e a donzela era muito boa e sutil, e sabia tocar harpa.

92And they went along until they came nigh unto their houses, and they found Serach, the daughter of Asher, going forth to meet them, and the damsel was very good and subtle, and knew how to play upon the harp.

93E eles a chamaram e ela veio diante deles, e ela os beijou, e eles a pegaram e lhe deram uma harpa, dizendo: Vá agora diante de nosso pai, e sente-se diante dele, e toque a harpa, e diga estas palavras.

93And they called unto her and she came before them, and she kissed them, and they took her and gave unto her a harp, saying, Go now before our father, and sit before him, and strike upon the harp, and speak these words.

94E eles ordenaram que ela fosse para sua casa, e ela pegou a harpa e se apressou diante deles, e ela veio e sentou-se perto de Jacó.

94And they commanded her to go to their house, and she took the harp and hastened before them, and she came and sat near Jacob.

95E ela tocou bem e cantou, e pronunciou na doçura de suas palavras: José, meu tio, está vivo e governa toda a terra do Egito e não está morto.

95And she played well and sang, and uttered in the sweetness of her words, Joseph my uncle is living, and he ruleth throughout the land of Egypt, and is not dead.

96E ela continuou a repetir e proferir essas palavras, e Jacó ouviu suas palavras e elas lhe agradaram.

96And she continued to repeat and utter these words, and Jacob heard her words and they were agreeable to him.

97Ele ouviu enquanto ela as repetia duas e três vezes, e a alegria entrou no coração de Jacó com a doçura de suas palavras, e o espírito de Deus estava sobre ele, e ele sabia que todas as suas palavras eram verdadeiras.

97He listened whilst she repeated them twice and thrice, and joy entered the heart of Jacob at the sweetness of her words, and the spirit of God was upon him, and he knew all her words to be true.

98E Jacó abençoou Serach quando ela falou estas palavras diante dele, e ele lhe disse: Minha filha, que a morte nunca prevaleça sobre ti, pois tu reavivaste meu espírito; apenas fale ainda diante de mim como você falou, pois você me alegrou com todas as suas palavras.

98And Jacob blessed Serach when she spoke these words before him, and he said unto her, My daughter, may death never prevail over thee, for thou hast revived my spirit; only speak yet before me as thou hast spoken, for thou hast gladdened me with all thy words.

99E ela continuou a cantar estas palavras, e Jacó ouviu e isso lhe agradou, e ele se alegrou, e o espírito de Deus estava sobre ele.

99And she continued to sing these words, and Jacob listened and it pleased him, and he rejoiced, and the spirit of God was upon him.

100Enquanto ele ainda estava falando com ela, eis que seus filhos vieram até ele com cavalos e carros e vestes reais e servos correndo diante deles.

100Whilst he was yet speaking with her, behold his sons came to him with horses and chariots and royal garments and servants running before them.

101E Jacó levantou-se para encontrá-los, e viu seus filhos vestidos com vestes reais e viu todos os tesouros que José lhes havia enviado.

101And Jacob rose up to meet them, and saw his sons dressed in royal garments and he saw all the treasures that Joseph had sent to them.

102E eles lhe disseram: Informa-te que nosso irmão José está vivo, e é ele quem governa toda a terra do Egito, e é ele quem nos falou como te dissemos.

102And they said unto him, Be informed that our brother Joseph is living, and it is he who ruleth throughout the land of Egypt, and it is he who spoke unto us as we told thee.

103E Jacó ouviu todas as palavras de seus filhos, e seu coração palpitava com suas palavras, pois ele não podia acreditar nelas até que viu tudo o que José lhes havia dado e o que ele lhe havia enviado, e todos os sinais que José lhes havia falado.

103And Jacob heard all the words of his sons, and his heart palpitated at their words, for he could not believe them until he saw all that Joseph had given them and what he had sent him, and all the signs which Joseph had spoken unto them.

104E eles abriram diante dele e lhe mostraram tudo o que José havia enviado, deram a cada um o que José lhe havia enviado, e ele sabia que eles haviam falado a verdade e se alegrou muito com o relato de seu filho.

104And they opened out before him, and showed him all that Joseph had sent, they gave unto each what Joseph had sent him, and he knew that they had spoken the truth, and he rejoiced exceedingly an account of his son.

105E Jacó disse: Basta-me que meu filho José ainda viva, irei vê-lo antes de morrer.

105And Jacob said, It is enough for me that my son Joseph is still living, I will go and see him before I die.

106E seus filhos contaram-lhe tudo o que lhes havia acontecido, e Jacó disse: Descerei ao Egito para ver meu filho e sua descendência.

106And his sons told him all that had befallen them, and Jacob said, I will go down to Egypt to see my son and his offspring.

107E Jacó levantou-se e vestiu as roupas que José lhe enviara, e depois de se lavar e raspar o cabelo, colocou na cabeça o turbante que José lhe enviara.

107And Jacob rose up and put on the garments which Joseph had sent him, and after he had washed, and shaved his hair, he put upon his head the turban which Joseph had sent him.

108E todo o povo da casa de Jacó e suas esposas vestiram as roupas que José lhes havia enviado, e eles se alegraram muito com José por ele ainda estar vivo e por governar no Egito,

108And all the people of Jacob's house and their wives put on the garments which Joseph had sent to them, and they greatly rejoiced at Joseph that he was still living and that he was ruling in Egypt,

109E todos os habitantes de Canaã ouviram falar disso, e vieram e se alegraram muito com Jacó por ele ainda estar vivo.

109And all the inhabitants of Canaan heard of this thing, and they came and rejoiced much with Jacob that he was still living.

110E Jacó fez um banquete para eles durante três dias, e todos os reis de Canaã e nobres da terra comeram e beberam e se alegraram na casa de Jacó.

110And Jacob made a feast for them for three days, and all the kings of Canaan and nobles of the land ate and drank and rejoiced in the house of Jacob.
