Livro de Jasher 49

1Depois destas coisas o rei enviou e reuniu todos os seus oficiais e servos, e todos os príncipes e nobres pertencentes ao rei, e todos eles vieram perante o rei.

1After these things the king sent and assembled all his officers and servants, and all the princes and nobles belonging to the king, and they all came before the king.

2E o rei lhes disse: Eis que vistes e ouvistes todas as palavras deste homem hebreu e todos os sinais que ele declarou que aconteceriam, e nenhuma de suas palavras caiu por terra.

2And the king said unto them, Behold you have seen and heard all the words of this Hebrew man, and all the signs which he declared would come to pass, and not any of his words have fallen to the ground.

3Você sabe que ele deu uma interpretação adequada do sonho, e isso certamente acontecerá, agora, portanto, aconselhe-se e saiba o que você fará e como a terra será libertada da fome.

3You know that he has given a proper interpretation of the dream, and it will surely come to pass, now therefore take counsel, and know what you will do and how the land will be delivered from the famine.

4Procure agora e veja se alguém pode ser encontrado em cujo coração há sabedoria e conhecimento, e eu o designarei sobre a terra.

4Seek now and see whether the like can be found, in whose heart there is wisdom and knowledge, and I will appoint him over the land.

5Pois você ouviu o que o hebreu aconselhou a respeito disso para salvar a terra da fome, e eu sei que a terra não será libertada da fome, mas com o conselho do hebreu, aquele que me aconselhou.

5For you have heard what the Hebrew man has advised concerning this to save the land therewith from the famine, and I know that the land will not be delivered from the famine but with the advice of the Hebrew man, him that advised me.

6E todos responderam ao rei e disseram: O conselho que o hebreu deu a respeito disto é bom; agora, portanto, nosso senhor e rei, eis que toda a terra está em tuas mãos, faze o que parecer bem aos teus olhos.

6And they all answered the king and said, The counsel which the Hebrew has given concerning this is good; now therefore, our lord and king, behold the whole land is in thy hand, do that which seemeth good in thy sight.

7Aquele a quem você escolher, e a quem você, em sua sabedoria, sabe que é sábio e capaz de libertar a terra com sua sabedoria, o rei designará para estar sob ele sobre a terra.

7Him whom thou chooses, and whom thou in thy wisdom knowest to be wise and capable of delivering the land with his wisdom, him shall the king appoint to be under him over the land.

8E o rei disse a todos os oficiais: Tenho pensado que desde que Deus revelou ao homem hebreu tudo o que ele falou, não há ninguém tão discreto e sábio em toda a terra como ele; se parecer bem aos teus olhos, eu o colocarei sobre a terra, pois ele salvará a terra com a sua sabedoria.

8And the king said to all the officers: I have thought that since God has made known to the Hebrew man all that he has spoken, there is none so discreet and wise in the whole land as he is; if it seem good in your sight I will place him over the land, for he will save the land with his wisdom.

9E todos os oficiais responderam ao rei e disseram: Mas certamente está escrito nas leis do Egito, e não deve ser violado, que nenhum homem reinará sobre o Egito, nem será o segundo do rei, mas alguém que tenha conhecimento em todas as línguas dos filhos dos homens.

9And all the officers answered the king and said, But surely it is written in the laws of Egypt, and it should not be violated, that no man shall reign over Egypt, nor be the second to the king, but one who has knowledge in all the languages of the sons of men.

10Agora, portanto, nosso senhor e rei, eis que este homem hebreu só pode falar a língua hebraica, e como então ele pode estar sobre nós, o segundo sob governo, um homem que nem sequer conhece a nossa língua?

10Now therefore our lord and king, behold this Hebrew man can only speak the Hebrew language, and how then can he be over us the second under government, a man who not even knoweth our language?

11Agora rogamos que você mande chamá-lo, e deixe-o vir antes de você, e prove-o em todas as coisas, e faça o que achar melhor.

11Now we pray thee send for him, and let him come before thee, and prove him in all things, and do as thou see fit.

12E o rei disse: Amanhã acontecerá, e o que disseste é bom; e todos os oficiais compareceram naquele dia perante o rei.

12And the king said, It shall be done tomorrow, and the thing that you have spoken is good; and all the officers came on that day before the king.

13E naquela noite o Senhor enviou um de seus anjos ministradores, e ele veio para a terra do Egito até José, e o anjo do Senhor estava sobre José, e eis que José estava deitado na cama à noite na casa de seu mestre na masmorra, pois seu mestre o havia colocado de volta na masmorra por causa de sua esposa.

13And on that night the Lord sent one of his ministering angels, and he came into the land of Egypt unto Joseph, and the angel of the Lord stood over Joseph, and behold Joseph was lying in the bed at night in his master's house in the dungeon, for his master had put him back into the dungeon on account of his wife.

14E o anjo o despertou de seu sono, e José levantou-se e ficou de pé, e eis que o anjo do Senhor estava em pé diante dele; e o anjo do Senhor falou com José, e ele lhe ensinou todas as línguas dos homens naquela noite, e ele chamou seu nome de José.

14And the angel roused him from his sleep, and Joseph rose up and stood upon his legs, and behold the angel of the Lord was standing opposite to him; and the angel of the Lord spoke with Joseph, and he taught him all the languages of man in that night, and he called his name Jehoseph.

15E o anjo do Senhor saiu dele, e José voltou e deitou-se em sua cama, e José ficou surpreso com a visão que teve.

15And the angel of the Lord went from him, and Joseph returned and lay upon his bed, and Joseph was astonished at the vision which he saw.

16E aconteceu pela manhã que o rei mandou chamar todos os seus oficiais e servos, e todos eles vieram e sentaram-se diante do rei, e o rei ordenou que José fosse trazido, e os servos do rei foram e trouxeram José diante de Faraó.

16And it came to pass in the morning that the king sent for all his officers and servants, and they all came and sat before the king, and the king ordered Joseph to be brought, and the king's servants went and brought Joseph before Pharaoh.

17E o rei saiu e subiu os degraus do trono, e José falou ao rei em todas as línguas, e José subiu até ele e falou ao rei até que ele chegou diante do rei no septuagésimo degrau, e ele sentou-se diante do rei.

17And the king came forth and ascended the steps of the throne, and Joseph spoke unto the king in all languages, and Joseph went up to him and spoke unto the king until he arrived before the king in the seventieth step, and he sat before the king.

18E o rei se alegrou muito por causa de José, e todos os oficiais do rei se alegraram muito com o rei quando ouviram todas as palavras de José.

18And the king greatly rejoiced on account of Joseph, and all the king's officers rejoiced greatly with the king when they heard all the words of Joseph.

19E pareceu bem aos olhos do rei e dos oficiais, nomear José para ser o segundo depois do rei sobre toda a terra do Egito, e o rei falou a José, dizendo:

19And the thing seemed good in the sight of the king and the officers, to appoint Joseph to be second to the king over the whole land of Egypt, and the king spoke to Joseph, saying,

20Agora tu me aconselhaste a nomear um homem sábio sobre a terra do Egito, para que com sua sabedoria salvasse a terra da fome; agora, portanto, desde que Deus te revelou tudo isso e todas as palavras que falaste, não há em toda a terra um homem discreto e sábio como tu.

20Now thou didst give me counsel to appoint a wise man over the land of Egypt, in order with his wisdom to save the land from the famine; now therefore, since God has made all this known to thee, and all the words which thou hast spoken, there is not throughout the land a discreet and wise man like unto thee.

21E o teu nome não será mais chamado José, mas Zaphnath Paaneah será o teu nome; tu serás o segundo depois de mim, e de acordo com a tua palavra serão todos os assuntos do meu governo, e pela tua palavra meu povo sairá e entrará.

21And thy name no more shall be called Joseph, but Zaphnath Paaneah shall be thy name; thou shalt be second to me, and according to thy word shall be all the affairs of my government, and at thy word shall my people go out and come in.

22Também de debaixo da tua mão meus servos e oficiais receberão o salário que lhes é dado mensalmente, e a ti todo o povo da terra se curvará; somente no meu trono serei maior que tu.

22Also from under thy hand shall my servants and officers receive their salary which is given to them monthly, and to thee shall all the people of the land bow down; only in my throne will I be greater than thou.

23E o rei tirou o anel da mão e colocou-o na mão de José, e o rei vestiu José com uma roupa principesca, e colocou uma coroa de ouro em sua cabeça, e colocou uma corrente de ouro em seu pescoço.

23And the king took off his ring from his hand and put it upon the hand of Joseph, and the king dressed Joseph in a princely garment, and he put a golden crown upon his head, and he put a golden chain upon his neck.

24E o rei ordenou a seus servos, e eles o fizeram andar na segunda carruagem pertencente ao rei, que ia em frente à carruagem do rei, e ele o fez montar um cavalo grande e forte dos cavalos do rei, e ser conduzido pelas ruas da terra do Egito.

24And the king commanded his servants, and they made him ride in the second chariot belonging to the king, that went opposite to the king's chariot, and he caused him to ride upon a great and strong horse from the king's horses, and to be conducted through the streets of the land of Egypt.

25E o rei ordenou que todos os que tocavam tamboris, harpas e outros instrumentos musicais saíssem com José; mil tamboris, mil mecholoth e mil nebalim foram atrás dele.

25And the king commanded that all those that played upon timbrels, harps and other musical instruments should go forth with Joseph; one thousand timbrels, one thousand mecholoth, and one thousand nebalim went after him.

26E cinco mil homens, com espadas desembainhadas brilhando em suas mãos, e eles foram marchando e brincando diante de José, e vinte mil dos grandes homens do rei cingidos com cintos de pele cobertos de ouro, marcharam à direita de José, e vinte mil à sua esquerda, e todas as mulheres e donzelas subiram aos telhados ou ficaram nas ruas brincando e regozijando-se com José, e olharam para a aparência de José e para sua beleza.

26And five thousand men, with drawn swords glittering in their hands, and they went marching and playing before Joseph, and twenty thousand of the great men of the king girt with girdles of skin covered with gold, marched at the right hand of Joseph, and twenty thousand at his left, and all the women and damsels went upon the roofs or stood in the streets playing and rejoicing at Joseph, and gazed at the appearance of Joseph and at his beauty.

27E o povo do rei foi adiante dele e atrás dele, perfumando a estrada com incenso e com cássia, e com todo tipo de perfume fino, e espalhou mirra e aloés ao longo da estrada, e vinte homens proclamaram estas palavras diante dele por toda a terra em alta voz:

27And the king's people went before him and behind him, perfuming the road with frankincense and with cassia, and with all sorts of fine perfume, and scattered myrrh and aloes along the road, and twenty men proclaimed these words before him throughout the land in a loud voice:

28Você vê este homem que o rei escolheu para ser seu segundo? todos os assuntos do governo serão regulados por ele, e aquele que transgredir suas ordens, ou que não se curvar diante dele até o chão, morrerá, pois se rebela contra o rei e seu segundo.

28Do you see this man whom the king has chosen to be his second? all the affairs of government shall be regulated by him, and he that transgresses his orders, or that does not bow down before him to the ground, shall die, for he rebels against the king and his second.

29E quando os arautos cessaram de proclamar, todo o povo do Egito prostrou-se por terra diante de José e disse: Viva o rei, viva também o seu segundo; e todos os habitantes do Egito se curvaram ao longo da estrada, e quando os arautos se aproximaram deles, eles se curvaram e se alegraram com todos os tipos de tamboris, mechol e nebal diante de José.

29And when the heralds had ceased proclaiming, all the people of Egypt bowed down to the ground before Joseph and said, May the king live, also may his second live; and all the inhabitants of Egypt bowed down along the road, and when the heralds approached them, they bowed down, and they rejoiced with all sorts of timbrels, mechol and nebal before Joseph.

30E José, montado em seu cavalo, ergueu os olhos ao céu, e clamou e disse: Ele levanta o pobre do pó, Ele levanta o necessitado do monturo. Ó Senhor dos Exércitos, feliz é o homem que confia em ti.

30And Joseph upon his horse lifted up his eyes to heaven, and called out and said, He raiseth the poor man from the dust, He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill. O Lord of Hosts, happy is the man who trusteth in thee.

31E José percorreu toda a terra do Egito com os servos e oficiais de Faraó, e eles lhe mostraram toda a terra do Egito e todos os tesouros do rei.

31And Joseph passed throughout the land of Egypt with Pharaoh's servants and officers, and they showed him the whole land of Egypt and all the king's treasures.

32E José voltou e veio naquele dia diante de Faraó, e o rei deu a José uma possessão na terra do Egito, uma posse de campos e vinhas, e o rei deu a José três mil talentos de prata e mil talentos de ouro, e pedras de ônix e bdélio e muitos presentes.

32And Joseph returned and came on that day before Pharaoh, and the king gave unto Joseph a possession in the land of Egypt, a possession of fields and vineyards, and the king gave unto Joseph three thousand talents of silver and one thousand talents of gold, and onyx stones and bdellium and many gifts.

33E no dia seguinte o rei ordenou que todo o povo do Egito trouxesse ofertas e presentes a José, e que aquele que violasse a ordem do rei morresse; e fizeram um alto na praça da cidade, e espalharam ali vestes, e quem trouxesse alguma coisa a José colocava-o no alto.

33And on the next day the king commanded all the people of Egypt to bring unto Joseph offerings and gifts, and that he that violated the command of the king should die; and they made a high place in the street of the city, and they spread out garments there, and whoever brought anything to Joseph put it into the high place.

34E todo o povo do Egito lançou algo no alto, um homem um brinco de ouro, e o outro anéis e brincos, e diferentes vasos de ouro e prata trabalhada, e pedras de ônix e bdélio ele lançou sobre o alto lugar; cada um deu algo do que possuía.

34And all the people of Egypt cast something into the high place, one man a golden ear-ring, and the other rings and ear-rings, and different vessels of gold and silver work, and onyx stones and bdellium did he cast upon the high place; every one gave something of what he possessed.

35E José tomou todos estes e os colocou em seus tesouros, e todos os oficiais e nobres pertencentes ao rei exaltaram José, e deram-lhe muitos presentes, visto que o rei o havia escolhido para ser seu segundo.

35And Joseph took all these and placed them in his treasuries, and all the officers and nobles belonging to the king exalted Joseph, and they gave him many gifts, seeing that the king had chosen him to be his second.

36E o rei enviou a Potiphera, filho de Ahiram, sacerdote de On, e ele tomou sua filha Osnath e a deu a José como esposa.

36And the king sent to Potiphera, the son of Ahiram priest of On, and he took his young daughter Osnath and gave her unto Joseph for a wife.

37E a donzela era muito bonita, uma virgem, que nenhum homem conhecia, e José a tomou por esposa; e o rei disse a José: Eu sou Faraó, e além de ti ninguém se atreverá a levantar a mão ou o pé para governar o meu povo em toda a terra do Egito.

37And the damsel was very comely, a virgin, one whom man had not known, and Joseph took her for a wife; and the king said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and beside thee none shall dare to lift up his hand or his foot to regulate my people throughout the land of Egypt.

38E José tinha trinta anos quando esteve diante de Faraó, e José saiu de diante do rei, e ele se tornou o segundo do rei no Egito.

38And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh, and Joseph went out from before the king, and he became the king's second in Egypt.

39E o rei deu a José cem servos para atendê-lo em sua casa, e José também enviou e comprou muitos servos e eles permaneceram na casa de José.

39And the king gave Joseph a hundred servants to attend him in his house, and Joseph also sent and purchased many servants and they remained in the house of Joseph.

40José então construiu para si uma casa muito magnífica, semelhante às casas dos reis, diante da corte do palácio do rei, e fez na casa um grande templo, de aparência muito elegante e conveniente para sua residência; três anos foi José na construção de sua casa.

40Joseph then built for himself a very magnificent house like unto the houses of kings, before the court of the king's palace, and he made in the house a large temple, very elegant in appearance and convenient for his residence; three years was Joseph in erecting his house.

41E José fez para si um trono muito elegante, cheio de abundância de ouro e prata, e cobriu-o com pedras de ônix e bdélio, e fez sobre ele a semelhança de toda a terra do Egito, e a semelhança do rio do Egito que irriga toda a terra do Egito; e José sentou-se com segurança em seu trono em sua casa e o Senhor aumentou a sabedoria de José.

41And Joseph made unto himself a very elegant throne of abundance of gold and silver, and he covered it with onyx stones and bdellium, and he made upon it the likeness of the whole land of Egypt, and the likeness of the river of Egypt that watereth the whole land of Egypt; and Joseph sat securely upon his throne in his house and the Lord increased Joseph's wisdom.

42E todos os habitantes do Egito, e os servos de Faraó, e os seus príncipes, amavam muito a José, porque isto vinha do Senhor para José.

42And all the inhabitants of Egypt and Pharaoh's servants and his princes loved Joseph exceedingly, for this thing was from the Lord to Joseph.

43E José tinha um exército que fazia guerra, saindo em exércitos e tropas em número de quarenta mil e seiscentos homens, capazes de portar armas para ajudar o rei e José contra o inimigo, além dos oficiais do rei e seus servos e habitantes do Egito sem número.

43And Joseph had an army that made war, going out in hosts and troops to the number of forty thousand six hundred men, capable of bearing arms to assist the king and Joseph against the enemy, besides the king's officers and his servants and inhabitants of Egypt without number.

44E José deu aos seus valentes e a todo o seu exército escudos e dardos, e gorros e cotas de malha e pedras para fundas.

44And Joseph gave unto his mighty men, and to all his host, shields and javelins, and caps and coats of mail and stones for slinging.
