Livro de Jasher 47

1E Isaque, filho de Abraão, ainda morava naqueles dias na terra de Canaã; ele era muito idoso, cento e oitenta anos, e Esaú, seu filho, irmão de Jacó, estava na terra de Edom, e ele e seus filhos possuíam propriedades entre os filhos de Seir.

1And Isaac the son of Abraham was still living in those days in the land of Canaan; he was very aged, one hundred and eighty years old, and Esau his son, the brother of Jacob, was in the land of Edom, and he and his sons had possessions in it amongst the children of Seir.

2E Esaú ouviu que o tempo de seu pai estava chegando para morrer, e ele e seus filhos e sua família vieram para a terra de Canaã, para a casa de seu pai, e Jacó e seus filhos saíram do lugar onde moravam em Hebron, e todos eles vieram para seu pai Isaque, e encontraram Esaú e seus filhos na tenda.

2And Esau heard that his father's time was drawing nigh to die, and he and his sons and household came unto the land of Canaan, unto his father's house, and Jacob and his sons went forth from the place where they dwelt in Hebron, and they all came to their father Isaac, and they found Esau and his sons in the tent.

3E Jacó e seus filhos sentaram-se diante de seu pai Isaque, e Jacó ainda estava de luto por seu filho José.

3And Jacob and his sons sat before his father Isaac, and Jacob was still mourning for his son Joseph.

4E Isaque disse a Jacó: Traz-me aqui teus filhos e eu os abençoarei; e Jacó trouxe seus onze filhos diante de Isaque, seu pai.

4And Isaac said unto Jacob, Bring me hither thy sons and I will bless them; and Jacob brought his eleven children before his father Isaac.

5E Isaque colocou as mãos sobre todos os filhos de Jacó, e ele os segurou e os abraçou, e os beijou um por um, e Isaque os abençoou naquele dia, e ele lhes disse: Que o Deus de seus pais os abençoe e aumente sua semente como as estrelas do céu em número.

5And Isaac placed his hands upon all the sons of Jacob, and he took hold of them and embraced them, and kissed them one by one, and Isaac blessed them on that day, and he said unto them, May the God of your fathers bless you and increase your seed like the stars of heaven for number.

6E Isaque também abençoou os filhos de Esaú, dizendo: Que Deus faça de ti um pavor e um terror para todos os que te contemplarem, e para todos os teus inimigos.

6And Isaac also blessed the sons of Esau, saying, May God cause you to be a dread and a terror to all that will behold you, and to all your enemies.

7E Isaque chamou Jacó e seus filhos, e todos eles vieram e sentaram-se diante de Isaque, e Isaque disse a Jacó: O Senhor Deus de toda a terra me disse: À tua descendência darei esta terra por herança se teus filhos guardarem meus estatutos e meus caminhos, e eu cumprirei com eles o juramento que fiz a teu pai Abraão.

7And Isaac called Jacob and his sons, and they all came and sat before Isaac, and Isaac said unto Jacob, The Lord God of the whole earth said unto me, Unto thy seed will I give this land for an inheritance if thy children keep my statutes and my ways, and I will perform unto them the oath which I swore unto thy father Abraham.

8Agora, portanto, meu filho, ensina teus filhos e os filhos de teus filhos a temerem ao Senhor e a seguirem o bom caminho que agradará ao Senhor teu Deus, pois se guardares os caminhos do Senhor e os seus estatutos, o Senhor também guardará contigo a sua aliança com Abraão, e te fará bem a ti e à tua descendência todos os dias.

8Now therefore my son, teach thy children and thy children's children to fear the Lord, and to go in the good way which will please the Lord thy God, for if you keep the ways of the Lord and his statutes the Lord will also keep unto you his covenant with Abraham, and will do well with you and your seed all the days.

9E quando Isaque terminou de ordenar a Jacó e seus filhos, ele entregou o espírito e morreu, e foi reunido ao seu povo.

9And when Isaac had finished commanding Jacob and his children, he gave up the ghost and died, and was gathered unto his people.

10E Jacó e Esaú caíram sobre a face de seu pai Isaque, e choraram, e Isaque tinha cento e oitenta anos quando morreu na terra de Canaã, em Hebron, e seus filhos o levaram para a caverna de Macpela, que Abraão havia comprado dos filhos de Hete como posse de um local de sepultamento.

10And Jacob and Esau fell upon the face of their father Isaac, and they wept, and Isaac was one hundred and eighty years old when he died in the land of Canaan, in Hebron, and his sons carried him to the cave of Machpelah, which Abraham had bought from the children of Heth for a possession of a burial place.

11E todos os reis da terra de Canaã foram com Jacó e Esaú para sepultar Isaque, e todos os reis de Canaã mostraram grande honra a Isaque em sua morte.

11And all the kings of the land of Canaan went with Jacob and Esau to bury Isaac, and all the kings of Canaan showed Isaac great honor at his death.

12E os filhos de Jacó e os filhos de Esaú andaram descalços por aí, andando e lamentando até chegarem a Kireath-arba.

12And the sons of Jacob and the sons of Esau went barefooted round about, walking and lamenting until they reached Kireath-arba.

13E Jacó e Esaú sepultaram seu pai Isaque na caverna de Macpela, que fica em Quireate-Arba, em Hebron, e o enterraram com grande honra, como no funeral dos reis.

13And Jacob and Esau buried their father Isaac in the cave of Machpelah, which is in Kireath-arba in Hebron, and they buried him with very great honor, as at the funeral of kings.

14E Jacó e seus filhos, e Esaú e seus filhos, e todos os reis de Canaã fizeram um grande e pesado luto, e eles o enterraram e choraram por ele por muitos dias.

14And Jacob and his sons, and Esau and his sons, and all the kings of Canaan made a great and heavy mourning, and they buried him and mourned for him many days.

15E com a morte de Isaque, ele deixou seu gado e seus bens e tudo o que lhe pertencia para seus filhos; e Esaú disse a Jacó: Eis que, peço-te, tudo o que nosso pai deixou, iremos dividi-lo em duas partes, e eu terei a escolha, e Jacó disse: Faremos assim.

15And at the death of Isaac, he left his cattle and his possessions and all belonging to him to his sons; and Esau said unto Jacob, Behold I pray thee, all that our father has left we will divide it in two parts, and I will have the choice, and Jacob said, We will do so.

16E Jacó tomou tudo o que Isaque tinha deixado na terra de Canaã, o gado e a propriedade, e os colocou em duas partes diante de Esaú e seus filhos, e disse a Esaú: Eis que tudo isso está diante de ti, escolhe para ti a metade que vais levar.

16And Jacob took all that Isaac had left in the land of Canaan, the cattle and the property, and he placed them in two parts before Esau and his sons, and he said unto Esau, Behold all this is before thee, choose thou unto thyself the half which thou wilt take.

17E Jacó disse a Esaú: Ouve, peço-te, o que te direi, dizendo: O Senhor Deus do céu e da terra falou a nossos pais Abraão e Isaque, dizendo: À tua descendência darei esta terra em herança para sempre.

17And Jacob said unto Esau, Hear thou I pray thee what I will speak unto thee, saying, The Lord God of heaven and earth spoke unto our fathers Abraham and Isaac, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land for an inheritance forever.

18Agora, pois, tudo o que nosso pai deixou está diante de ti, e eis que toda a terra está diante de ti; escolha entre eles o que deseja.

18Now therefore all that our father has left is before thee, and behold all the land is before thee; choose thou from them what thou desirest.

19Se você deseja toda a terra, leve-a para você e para seus filhos para sempre, e eu ficarei com essas riquezas, e se você desejar as riquezas, leve-as para você, e eu tomarei esta terra para mim e para meus filhos para herdá-la para sempre.

19If thou desirest the whole land take it for thee and thy children forever, and I will take this riches, and it thou desirest the riches take it unto thee, and I will take this land for me and for my children to inherit it forever.

20E Nebayoth, filho de Ismael, estava então na terra com seus filhos, e Esaú foi naquele dia e consultou-o, dizendo.

20And Nebayoth, the son of Ishmael, was then in the land with his children, and Esau went on that day and consulted with him, saying.

21Assim me falou Jacó, e assim me respondeu, agora dá-me o teu conselho e ouviremos.

21Thus has Jacob spoken unto me, and thus has he answered me, now give thy advice and we will hear.

22E Nebayoth disse: Que é isto que Jacó te falou? eis que todos os filhos de Canaã estão habitando em segurança em sua terra, e Jacó diz que a herdará com sua semente todos os dias.

22And Nebayoth said, What is this that Jacob hath spoken unto thee? behold all the children of Canaan are dwelling securely in their land, and Jacob sayeth he will inherit it with his seed all the days.

23Vai agora, pois, e toma todas as riquezas de teu pai, e deixa Jacó, teu irmão, na terra, como ele falou.

23Go now therefore and take all thy father's riches and leave Jacob thy brother in the land, as he has spoken.

24E Esaú levantou-se e voltou para Jacó, e fez tudo o que Nebayoth, filho de Ismael, havia aconselhado; e Esaú tomou todas as riquezas que Isaque tinha deixado, as almas, os animais, o gado e os bens, e todas as riquezas; ele não deu nada a seu irmão Jacó; e Jacó tomou toda a terra de Canaã, desde o ribeiro do Egito até o rio Eufrates, e ele a tomou em possessão eterna, e para seus filhos e para sua descendência depois dele para sempre.

24And Esau rose up and returned to Jacob, and did all that Nebayoth the son of Ishmael had advised; and Esau took all the riches that Isaac had left, the souls, the beasts, the cattle and the property, and all the riches; he gave nothing to his brother Jacob; and Jacob took all the land of Canaan, from the brook of Egypt unto the river Euphrates, and he took it for an everlasting possession, and for his children and for his seed after him forever.

25Jacó também tomou de seu irmão Esaú a caverna de Macpela, que está em Hebrom, que Abraão havia comprado de Efrom como posse de um cemitério para ele e sua descendência para sempre.

25Jacob also took from his brother Esau the cave of Machpelah, which is in Hebron, which Abraham had bought from Ephron for a possession of a burial place for him and his seed forever.

26E Jacó escreveu todas estas coisas no livro de compra, e ele o assinou, e testificou tudo isso com quatro testemunhas fiéis.

26And Jacob wrote all these things in the book of purchase, and he signed it, and he testified all this with four faithful witnesses.

27E estas são as palavras que Jacó escreveu no livro, dizendo: A terra de Canaã e todas as cidades dos hititas, dos heveus, dos jebuseus, dos amorreus, dos perizeus e dos gergaseus, todas as sete nações, desde o rio do Egito até o rio Eufrates.

27And these are the words which Jacob wrote in the book, saying: The land of Canaan and all the cities of the Hittites, the Hivites, the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, and the Gergashites, all the seven nations from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates.

28E a cidade de Hebron Kireath-arba, e a caverna que nela está, Jacó comprou tudo de seu irmão Esaú por valor, como possessão e como herança para sua descendência depois dele para sempre.

28And the city of Hebron Kireath-arba, and the cave which is in it, the whole did Jacob buy from his brother Esau for value, for a possession and for an inheritance for his seed after him forever.

29E Jacó tomou o livro de compra e a assinatura, o comando e os estatutos e o livro revelado, e os colocou num vaso de barro para que permanecessem por muito tempo, e os entregou nas mãos de seus filhos.

29And Jacob took the book of purchase and the signature, the command and the statutes and the revealed book, and he placed them in an earthen vessel in order that they should remain for a long time, and he delivered them into the hands of his children.

30Esaú tomou de seu irmão Jacó tudo o que seu pai lhe havia deixado depois de sua morte, e tomou todos os bens, desde homens e animais, camelos e jumentos, bois e cordeiros, prata e ouro, pedras e bdélio, e todas as riquezas que pertenceram a Isaque, filho de Abraão; não sobrou nada que Esaú não tenha levado para si, de tudo o que Isaque deixou após a sua morte.

30Esau took all that his father had left him after his death from his brother Jacob, and he took all the property, from man and beast, camel and ass, ox and lamb, silver and gold, stones and bdellium, and all the riches which had belonged to Isaac the son of Abraham; there was nothing left which Esau did not take unto himself, from all that Isaac had left after his death.

31E Esaú tomou tudo isso, e ele e seus filhos foram para casa, para a terra de Seir, o horeu, longe de seu irmão Jacó e de seus filhos.

31And Esau took all this, and he and his children went home to the land of Seir the Horite, away from his brother Jacob and his children.

32E Esaú tinha possessões entre os filhos de Seir, e Esaú não voltou para a terra de Canaã daquele dia em diante.

32And Esau had possessions amongst the children of Seir, and Esau returned not to the land of Canaan from that day forward.

33E toda a terra de Canaã tornou-se uma herança para os filhos de Israel, em herança eterna, e Esaú e todos os seus filhos herdaram o monte de Seir.

33And the whole land of Canaan became an inheritance to the children of Israel for an everlasting inheritance, and Esau with all his children inherited the mountain of Seir.
