Livro de Jasher 24

1E a vida de Sara foi cento e vinte e sete anos, e Sara morreu; e Abraão levantou-se de diante de seus mortos para procurar um local de sepultamento para sepultar sua esposa Sara; e ele foi e falou aos filhos de Hete, os habitantes da terra, dizendo:

1And the life of Sarah was one hundred and twenty-seven years, and Sarah died; and Abraham rose up from before his dead to seek a burial place to bury his wife Sarah; and he went and spoke to the children of Heth, the inhabitants of the land, saying,

2Sou estrangeiro e peregrino contigo na tua terra; dá-me posse de uma sepultura na tua terra, para que eu possa sepultar os meus mortos diante de mim.

2I am a stranger and a sojourner with you in your land; give me a possession of a burial place in your land, that I may bury my dead from before me.

3E os filhos de Hete disseram a Abraão: eis que a terra está diante de ti, na escolha de nossos sepulcros enterra os teus mortos, pois ninguém te impedirá de enterrar os teus mortos.

3And the children of Heth said unto Abraham, behold the land is before thee, in the choice of our sepulchers bury thy dead, for no man shall withhold thee from burying thy dead.

4E Abraão lhes disse: Se vocês concordam com isso, vão e implorem por mim a Efrom, filho de Zocar, pedindo que ele me dê a caverna de Macpelá, que está no final de seu campo, e eu a comprarei dele pelo que ele desejar.

4And Abraham said unto them, If you are agreeable to this go and entreat for me to Ephron, the son of Zochar, requesting that he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which is in the end of his field, and I will purchase it of him for whatever he desire for it.

5E Efrom habitou entre os filhos de Hete, e eles foram e o chamaram, e ele veio diante de Abraão, e Efrom disse a Abraão: Eis que tudo o que requeres que teu servo fará; e Abraão disse: Não, mas comprarei por valor a caverna e o campo que tens, para que possa ser uma posse de sepultura para sempre.

5And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth, and they went and called for him, and he came before Abraham, and Ephron said unto Abraham, Behold all thou requirest thy servant will do; and Abraham said, No, but I will buy the cave and the field which thou hast for value, In order that it may be for a possession of a burial place for ever.

6E Efrom respondeu e disse: Eis que o campo e a caverna estão diante de ti, dá tudo o que desejas; e Abraão disse: Somente pelo valor integral o comprarei da tua mão, e das mãos dos que entram pela porta da tua cidade, e da mão da tua descendência para sempre.

6And Ephron answered and said, Behold the field and the cave are before thee, give whatever thou desirest; and Abraham said, Only at full value will I buy it from thy hand, and from the hands of those that go in at the gate of thy city, and from the hand of thy seed for ever.

7E Efrom e todos os seus irmãos ouviram isto, e Abraão pesou a Efrom quatrocentos siclos de prata nas mãos de Efrom e nas mãos de todos os seus irmãos; e Abraão escreveu esta transação, e ele a escreveu e testificou com quatro testemunhas.

7And Ephron and all his brethren heard this, and Abraham weighed to Ephron four hundred shekels of silver in the hands of Ephron and in the hands of all his brethren; and Abraham wrote this transaction, and he wrote it and testified it with four witnesses.

8E estes são os nomes das testemunhas: Amigal, filho de Abishna, o heteu, Adichorom, filho de Ashunach, o heveu, Abdon, filho de Aquirão, o gomerita, Bakdil, filho de Abudis, o sidonita.

8And these are the names of the witnesses, Amigal son of Abishna the Hittite, Adichorom son of Ashunach the Hivite, Abdon son of Achiram the Gomerite, Bakdil the son of Abudish the Zidonite.

9E Abraão tomou o livro da compra, e colocou-o nos seus tesouros, e estas são as palavras que Abraão escreveu no livro, a saber:

9And Abraham took the book of the purchase, and placed it in his treasures, and these are the words that Abraham wrote in the book, namely:

10Que a caverna e o campo que Abraão comprou de Efrom, o hitita, e de sua semente, e daqueles que saem de sua cidade, e de sua semente para sempre, serão uma compra para Abraão e sua semente e para aqueles que saem de seus lombos, como posse de sepultura para sempre; e ele colocou um selo nele e testificou com testemunhas.

10That the cave and the field Abraham bought from Ephron the Hittite, and from his seed, and from those that go out of his city, and from their seed for ever, are to be a purchase to Abraham and to his seed and to those that go forth from his loins, for a possession of a burial place for ever; and he put a signet to it and testified it with witnesses.

11E o campo e a caverna que nele havia e todo aquele lugar foram assegurados a Abraão e à sua descendência depois dele, dos filhos de Hete; eis que está diante de Manre, em Hebrom, que está na terra de Canaã.

11And the field and the cave that was in it and all that place were made sure unto Abraham and unto his seed after him, from the children of Heth; behold it is before Mamre in Hebron, which is in the land of Canaan.

12E depois disso Abraão sepultou sua esposa Sara ali, e aquele lugar e todos os seus limites tornaram-se para Abraão e para sua semente como posse de um local de sepultamento.

12And after this Abraham buried his wife Sarah there, and that place and all its boundary became to Abraham and unto his seed for a possession of a burial place.

13E Abraão enterrou Sara com pompa, como observado no enterro dos reis, e ela foi enterrada com roupas muito finas e bonitas.

13And Abraham buried Sarah with pomp as observed at the interment of kings, and she was buried in very fine and beautiful garments.

14E em seu esquife estava Sem, seus filhos Éber e Abimeleque, junto com Anar, Ascol e Manre, e todos os grandes da terra seguiram seu esquife.

14And at her bier was Shem, his sons Eber and Abimelech, together with Anar, Ashcol and Mamre, and all the grandees of the land followed her bier.

15E os dias de Sara foram cento e vinte e sete anos e ela morreu, e Abraão fez um grande e pesado luto, e ele realizou os ritos de luto por sete dias.

15And the days of Sarah were one hundred and twenty-seven years and she died, and Abraham made a great and heavy mourning, and he performed the rites of mourning for seven days.

16E todos os habitantes da terra consolaram Abraão e Isaque, seu filho, por causa de Sara.

16And all the inhabitants of the land comforted Abraham and Isaac his son on account of Sarah.

17E quando os dias de luto passaram, Abraão mandou embora seu filho Isaque, e ele foi para a casa de Sem e Éber, para aprender os caminhos do Senhor e suas instruções, e Abraão permaneceu lá três anos.

17And when the days of their mourning passed by Abraham sent away his son Isaac, and he went to the house of Shem and Eber, to learn the ways of the Lord and his instructions, and Abraham remained there three years.

18Naquele tempo, Abraão se levantou com todos os seus servos, e eles foram e voltaram para casa em Berseba, e Abraão e todos os seus servos permaneceram em Berseba.

18At that time Abraham rose up with all his servants, and they went and returned homeward to Beersheba, and Abraham and all his servants remained in Beersheba.

19E na revolução do ano Abimeleque, rei dos filisteus, morreu naquele ano; ele tinha cento e noventa e três anos quando morreu; e Abraão foi com seu povo para a terra dos filisteus, e eles consolaram toda a casa e todos os seus servos, e ele então se virou e foi para casa.

19And at the revolution of the year Abimelech king of the Philistines died in that year; he was one hundred and ninety-three years old at his death; and Abraham went with his people to the land of the Philistines, and they comforted the whole household and all his servants, and he then turned and went home.

20E foi depois da morte de Abimeleque que o povo de Gerar levou Benmalich, seu filho, e ele tinha apenas doze anos, e o fizeram mentir no lugar de seu pai.

20And it was after the death of Abimelech that the people of Gerar took Benmalich his son, and he was only twelve years old, and they made him lying in the place of his father.

21E eles chamaram seu nome de Abimeleque pelo nome de seu pai, pois assim era seu costume fazer em Gerar, e Abimeleque reinou em lugar de Abimeleque, seu pai, e ele se sentou em seu trono.

21And they called his name Abimelech after the name of his father, for thus was it their custom to do in Gerar, and Abimelech reigned instead of Abimelech his father, and he sat upon his throne.

22E Ló, filho de Harã, também morreu naqueles dias, no trigésimo nono ano da vida de Isaque, e todos os dias que Ló viveu foram cento e quarenta anos e ele morreu.

22And Lot the son of Haran also died in those days, in the thirty-ninth year of the life of Isaac, and all the days that Lot lived were one hundred and forty years and he died.

23E estes são os filhos de Ló, que lhe nasceram de suas filhas, o nome do primogênito foi Moabe, e o nome do segundo foi Benami.

23And these are the children of Lot, that were born to him by his daughters, the name of the first born was Moab, and the name of the second was Benami.

24E os dois filhos de Ló foram e tomaram esposas da terra de Canaã, e tiveram filhos para eles, e os filhos de Moabe foram Ed, Mayon, Tarso e Kanvil, quatro filhos, estes são pais dos filhos de Moabe até hoje.

24And the two sons of Lot went and took themselves wives from the land of Canaan, and they bare children to them, and the children of Moab were Ed, Mayon, Tarsus, and Kanvil, four sons, these are fathers to the children of Moab unto this day.

25E todas as famílias dos filhos de Ló foram morar onde quer que encontrassem, pois eram frutíferas e aumentavam abundantemente.

25And all the families of the children of Lot went to dwell wherever they should light upon, for they were fruitful and increased abundantly.

26E eles foram e construíram para si cidades na terra onde habitavam, e chamaram os nomes das cidades que construíram com os seus próprios nomes.

26And they went and built themselves cities in the land where they dwelt, and they called the names of the cities which they built after their own names.

27E Naor, filho de Terá, irmão de Abraão, morreu naqueles dias, no quadragésimo ano da vida de Isaque, e todos os dias de Naor foram cento e setenta e dois anos e ele morreu e foi sepultado em Harã.

27And Nahor the son of Terah, brother to Abraham, died in those days in the fortieth year of the life of Isaac, and all the days of Nahor were one hundred and seventy-two years and he died and was buried in Haran.

28E quando Abraão ouviu que seu irmão estava morto, ele ficou triste e lamentou por seu irmão por muitos dias.

28And when Abraham heard that his brother was dead he grieved sadly, and he mourned over his brother many days.

29E Abraão chamou Eliezer, seu servo principal, para lhe dar ordens sobre sua casa, e ele veio e ficou diante dele.

29And Abraham called for Eliezer his head servant, to give him orders concerning his house, and he came and stood before him.

30E Abraão lhe disse: Eis que estou velho, não sei o dia da minha morte; pois estou adiantado em dias; agora, pois, levanta-te, vai e não tome para meu filho uma mulher deste lugar e desta terra, das filhas dos cananeus, entre os quais habitamos.

30And Abraham said to him, Behold I am old, I do not know the day of my death; for I am advanced in days; now therefore rise up, go forth and do not take a wife for my son from this place and from this land, from the daughters of the Canaanites amongst whom we dwell.

31Mas vá para minha terra e para meu local de nascimento, e tome de lá uma esposa para meu filho, e o Senhor Deus do céu e da terra que me tirou da casa de meu pai e me trouxe para este lugar, e me disse: À tua semente darei esta terra como herança para sempre, ele enviará seu anjo diante de ti e prosperará em teu caminho, para que possas obter uma esposa para meu filho de minha família e da casa de meu pai.

31But go to my land and to my birthplace, and take from thence a wife for my son, and the Lord God of Heaven and earth who took me from my father's house and brought me to this place, and said unto me, To thy seed will I give this land for an inheritance for ever, he will send his angel before thee and prosper thy way, that thou mayest obtain a wife for my son from my family and from my father's house.

32E o servo respondeu a seu senhor Abraão e disse: Eis que vou para a tua terra natal e para a casa de teu pai, e tomo de lá uma esposa para teu filho; mas se a mulher não estiver disposta a me seguir até esta terra, devo levar seu filho de volta à terra onde você nasceu?

32And the servant answered his master Abraham and said, Behold I go to thy birthplace and to thy father's house, and take a wife for thy son from there; but if the woman be not willing to follow me to this land, shall I take thy son back to the land of thy birthplace?

33E Abraão lhe disse: Cuidado, não tragas meu filho aqui novamente, pois o Senhor diante de quem tenho andado, ele enviará seu anjo adiante de ti e prosperará em teu caminho.

33And Abraham said unto him, Take heed that thou bring not my son hither again, for the Lord before whom I have walked he will send his angel before thee and prosper thy way.

34E Eliezer fez como Abraão lhe ordenou, e Eliezer jurou a Abraão, seu mestre, sobre este assunto; e Eliezer levantou-se e tomou dez camelos dos camelos de seu senhor, e dez homens dos servos de seu senhor com ele, e eles se levantaram e foram a Harã, a cidade de Abraão e Naor, a fim de buscar uma esposa para Isaque, filho de Abraão; e enquanto eles estavam fora, Abraão enviou à casa de Sem e Éber, e de lá trouxeram seu filho Isaque.

34And Eliezer did as Abraham ordered him, and Eliezer swore unto Abraham his master upon this matter; and Eliezer rose up and took ten camels of the camels of his master, and ten men from his master's servants with him, and they rose up and went to Haran, the city of Abraham and Nahor, in order to fetch a wife for Isaac the son of Abraham; and whilst they were gone Abraham sent to the house of Shem and Eber, and they brought from thence his son Isaac.

35E Isaque voltou para a casa de seu pai, em Berseba, enquanto Eliezer e seus homens foram para Harã; e eles pararam na cidade perto do bebedouro, e ele fez seus camelos se ajoelharem perto da água e eles permaneceram lá.

35And Isaac came home to his father's house to Beersheba, whilst Eliezer and his men came to Haran; and they stopped in the city by the watering place, and he made his camels to kneel down by the water and they remained there.

36E Eliezer, servo de Abraão, orou e disse: Ó Deus de Abraão, meu senhor; envie-me, peço-lhe boa sorte neste dia e mostre bondade para com meu mestre, para que designe hoje uma esposa de sua família para o filho de meu mestre.

36And Eliezer, Abraham's servant, prayed and said, O God of Abraham my master; send me I pray thee good speed this day and show kindness unto my master, that thou shalt appoint this day a wife for my master's son from his family.

37E o Senhor ouviu a voz de Eliezer, por causa de seu servo Abraão, e ele se encontrou com a filha de Betuel, filho de Milca, esposa de Nahor, irmão de Abraão, e Eliezer foi à casa dela.

37And the Lord hearkened to the voice of Eliezer, for the sake of his servant Abraham, and he happened to meet with the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, brother to Abraham, and Eliezer came to her house.

38E Eliezer relatou-lhes todas as suas preocupações, e que ele era servo de Abraão, e eles se alegraram muito com ele.

38And Eliezer related to them all his concerns, and that he was Abraham's servant, and they greatly rejoiced at him.

39E todos eles abençoaram o Senhor que fez isso, e deram-lhe Rebeca, filha de Betuel, como esposa para Isaque.

39And they all blessed the Lord who brought this thing about, and they gave him Rebecca, the daughter of Bethuel, for a wife for Isaac.

40E a jovem tinha uma aparência muito bonita, ela era virgem, e Rebeca tinha dez anos naquela época.

40And the young woman was of very comely appearance, she was a virgin, and Rebecca was ten years old in those days.

41E Betuel e Labão e seus filhos fizeram um banquete naquela noite, e Eliezer e seus homens vieram e comeram e beberam e se alegraram ali naquela noite.

41And Bethuel and Laban and his children made a feast on that night, and Eliezer and his men came and ate and drank and rejoiced there on that night.

42E Eliezer levantou-se pela manhã, ele e os homens que estavam com ele, e chamou toda a casa de Betuel, dizendo: Mande-me embora para que eu possa ir ao meu senhor; e eles se levantaram e despediram Rebeca e sua ama Débora, filha de Uz, e deram-lhe prata e ouro, servos e servas, e a abençoaram.

42And Eliezer rose up in the morning, he and the men that were with him, and he called to the whole household of Bethuel, saying, Send me away that I may go to my master; and they rose up and sent away Rebecca and her nurse Deborah, the daughter of Uz, and they gave her silver and gold, men servants and maid servants, and they blessed her.

43E eles mandaram Eliezer embora com seus homens; e os servos levaram Rebeca, e ele foi e voltou para seu senhor, para a terra de Canaã.

43And they sent Eliezer away with his men; and the servants took Rebecca, and he went and returned to his master to the land of Canaan.

44E Isaque tomou Rebeca e ela se tornou sua esposa, e ele a trouxe para a tenda.

44And Isaac took Rebecca and she became his wife, and he brought her into the tent.

45E Isaque tinha quarenta anos quando tomou Rebeca, filha de seu tio Betuel, por esposa.

45And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca, the daughter of his uncle Bethuel, for a wife.
