Lamentações 5

1Lembra-te, SENHOR, do que nos tem sucedido; considera, e olha o nosso opróbrio.

1Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

2A nossa herança passou a estrangeiros, e as nossas casas a forasteiros.

2Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

3Órfãos somos sem pai, nossas mães são como viúvas.

3We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers {are} as widows.

4A nossa água por dinheiro a bebemos, por preço vem a nossa lenha.

4We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us. {is...: Heb. cometh for price}

5Os nossos perseguidores estão sobre os nossos pescoços; estamos cansados, e não temos descanso.

5Our necks {are} under persecution: we labour, {and} have no rest. {Our...: Heb. On our necks are we persecuted}

6Aos egípcios e aos assírios estendemos as mãos, para nos fartarem de pão.

6We have given the hand {to} the Egyptians, {and to} the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

7Nossos pais pecaram, e já não existem; e nós levamos as suas maldades.

7Our fathers have sinned, {and are} not; and we have borne their iniquities.

8Servos dominam sobre nós; ninguém há que nos livre da sua mão.

8Servants have ruled over us: {there is} none that doth deliver {us} out of their hand.

9Com perigo de nossas vidas trazemos o nosso pão, por causa da espada do deserto.

9We gat our bread with {the peril of} our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

10Nossa pele se queimou como um forno, por causa do ardor da fome.

10Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine. {terrible: or, terrors, or, storms}

11Forçaram as mulheres em Sião, as virgens nas cidades de Judá.

11They ravished the women in Zion, {and} the maids in the cities of Judah.

12Os príncipes foram enforcados pelas mãos deles; as faces dos velhos não foram reverenciadas.

12Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

13Aos jovens obrigaram a moer, e os meninos caíram debaixo das cargas de lenha.

13They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

14Os velhos já não estão mais às portas, os jovens já deixaram a sua música.

14The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

15Cessou o gozo de nosso coração; converteu-se em lamentação a nossa dança.

15The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

16Caiu a coroa da nossa cabeça; ai de nós! porque pecamos.

16The crown is fallen {from} our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned! {The...: Heb. The crown of our head is fallen}

17Por isso desmaiou o nosso coração; por isso se escureceram os nossos olhos.

17For this our heart is faint; for these {things} our eyes are dim.

18Pelo monte de Sião, que está assolado, andam as raposas.

18Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

19Tu, Senhor, permaneces eternamente, e o teu trono subsiste de geração em geração.

19Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

20Por que te esquecerias de nós para sempre? Por que nos desampararias por tanto tempo?

20Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, {and} forsake us so long time? {so...: Heb. for length of days?}

21Converte-nos a ti, Senhor, e seremos convertidos; renova os nossos dias como dantes.

21Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

22Mas tu nos rejeitaste totalmente. Tu estás muito enfurecido contra nós.

22But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us. {But...: or, For wilt thou utterly reject us?}
