Lamentações 3

1Eu sou aquele homem que viu a aflição pela vara do seu furor.

1I {am} the man {that} hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

2Ele me guiou e me fez andar em trevas e não na luz.

2He hath led me, and brought {me into} darkness, but not {into} light.

3Deveras fez virar e revirar a sua mão contra mim o dia todo.

3Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand {against me} all the day.

4Fez envelhecer a minha carne e a minha pele, quebrou os meus ossos.

4My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

5Edificou contra mim, e me cercou de fel e trabalho.

5He hath builded against me, and compassed {me} with gall and travail.

6Assentou-me em lugares tenebrosos, como os que estavam mortos há muito.

6He hath set me in dark places, as {they that be} dead of old.

7Cercou-me de uma sebe, e não posso sair; agravou os meus grilhões.

7He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

8Ainda quando clamo e grito, ele exclui a minha oração.

8Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

9Fechou os meus caminhos com pedras lavradas, fez tortuosas as minhas veredas.

9He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

10Fez-se-me como urso de emboscada, um leão em esconderijos.

10He {was} unto me {as} a bear lying in wait, {and as} a lion in secret places.

11Desviou os meus caminhos, e fez-me em pedaços; deixou-me assolado.

11He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.

12Armou o seu arco, e me pôs como alvo à flecha.

12He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

13Fez entrar nos meus rins as flechas da sua aljava.

13He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins. {arrows: Heb. sons}

14Fui feito um objeto de escárnio para todo o meu povo, e a sua canção todo o dia.

14I was a derision to all my people; {and} their song all the day.

15Fartou-me de amarguras, embriagou-me de absinto.

15He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood. {bitterness: Heb. bitternesses}

16Quebrou com cascalho os meus dentes, abaixou-me na cinza.

16He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. {covered...: or, rolled me in the ashes}

17E afastaste da paz a minha alma; esqueci-me do bem.

17And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity. {prosperity: Heb. good}

18Então disse eu: Já pereceu a minha força, como também a minha esperança no Senhor.

18And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:

19Lembra-te da minha aflição e do meu pranto, do absinto e do fel.

19Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. {Remembering: or, Remember}

20Minha alma certamente disto se lembra, e se abate dentro de mim.

20My soul hath {them} still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. {humbled: Heb. bowed}

21Disto me recordarei na minha mente; por isso esperarei.

21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. {recall...: Heb. make to return to my heart}

22As misericórdias do Senhor são a causa de não sermos consumidos, porque as suas misericórdias não têm fim;

22{It is of} the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23Novas são cada manhã; grande é a tua fidelidade.

23{They are} new every morning: great {is} thy faithfulness.

24A minha porção é o Senhor, diz a minha alma; portanto esperarei nele.

24The LORD {is} my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25Bom é o Senhor para os que esperam por ele, para a alma que o busca.

25The LORD {is} good unto them that wait for him, to the soul {that} seeketh him.

26Bom é ter esperança, e aguardar em silêncio a salvação do Senhor.

26{It is} good that {a man} should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

27Bom é para o homem suportar o jugo na sua mocidade.

27{It is} good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

28Assente-se solitário e fique em silêncio; porquanto Deus o pôs sobre ele.

28He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne {it} upon him.

29Ponha a sua boca no pó; talvez ainda haja esperança.

29He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

30Dê a sua face ao que o fere; farte-se de afronta.

30He giveth {his} cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.

31Pois o Senhor não rejeitará para sempre.

31For the Lord will not cast off for ever:

32Pois, ainda que entristeça a alguém, usará de compaixão, segundo a grandeza das suas misericórdias.

32But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

33Porque não aflige nem entristece de bom grado aos filhos dos homens.

33For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. {willingly: Heb. from his heart}

34Pisar debaixo dos seus pés a todos os presos da terra,

34To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

35Perverter o direito do homem perante a face do Altíssimo,

35To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, {the most High: or, a superior}

36Subverter ao homem no seu pleito, não o veria o Senhor?

36To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not. {approveth not: or, seeth not}

37Quem é aquele que diz, e assim acontece, quando o Senhor o não mande?

37Who {is} he {that} saith, and it cometh to pass, {when} the Lord commandeth {it} not?

38Porventura da boca do Altíssimo não sai tanto o mal como o bem?

38Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

39De que se queixa, pois, o homem vivente? Queixe-se cada um dos seus pecados.

39Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? {complain: or, murmur}

40Esquadrinhemos os nossos caminhos, e provemo-los, e voltemos para o Senhor.

40Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

41Levantemos os nossos corações com as mãos para Deus nos céus, dizendo:

41Let us lift up our heart with {our} hands unto God in the heavens.

42Nós transgredimos, e fomos rebeldes; por isso tu não perdoaste.

42We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

43Cobriste-te de ira, e nos perseguiste; mataste, não perdoaste.

43Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

44Cobriste-te de nuvens, para que não passe a nossa oração.

44Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that {our} prayer should not pass through.

45Como escória e refugo nos puseste no meio dos povos.

45Thou hast made us {as} the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

46Todos os nossos inimigos abriram contra nós a sua boca.

46All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

47Temor e laço vieram sobre nós, assolação e destruição.

47Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

48Torrentes de água derramaram os meus olhos, por causa da destruição da filha do meu povo.

48Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49Os meus olhos choram, e não cessam, porque não há descanso,

49Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

50Até que o Senhor atente e veja desde os céus.

50Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

51Os meus olhos entristecem a minha alma, por causa de todas as filhas da minha cidade.

51Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city. {mine heart: Heb. my soul} {because...: or, more than all}

52Como ave me caçam os que, sem causa, são meus inimigos.

52Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

53Cortaram-me a vida na masmorra, e lançaram pedras sobre mim.

53They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

54águas correram sobre a minha cabeça; eu disse: Estou cortado.

54Waters flowed over mine head; {then} I said, I am cut off.

55Invoquei o teu nome, Senhor, desde a mais profunda masmorra.

55I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

56Ouviste a minha voz; não escondas o teu ouvido ao meu suspiro, ao meu clamor.

56Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

57Tu te aproximaste no dia em que te invoquei; disseste: Não temas.

57Thou drewest near in the day {that} I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.

58Pleiteaste, Senhor, as causas da minha alma, remiste a minha vida.

58O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

59Viste, Senhor, a injustiça que me fizeram; julga a minha causa.

59O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.

60Viste toda a sua vingança, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim.

60Thou hast seen all their vengeance {and} all their imaginations against me.

61Ouviste a sua afronta, Senhor, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim,

61Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, {and} all their imaginations against me;

62Os lábios dos que se levantam contra mim e os seus desígnios me são contrários todo o dia.

62The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

63Observa-os ao assentarem-se e ao levantarem-se; eu sou a sua música.

63Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I {am} their musick.

64Tu lhes darás recompensa, Senhor, conforme a obra das suas mãos.

64Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

65Tu lhes darás ânsia de coração, maldição tua sobre eles.

65Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them. {sorrow...: or, obstinacy of heart}

66Na tua ira os perseguirás, e os destruirás de debaixo dos céus do Senhor.

66Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
