1E, quando eles se abraçaram por um longo tempo e entrelaçaram as correntes de suas mãos, Asenath disse a Joseph: "Venha aqui, senhor, e entre em nossa casa, por isso da minha parte preparei nossa casa e um ótimo jantar."

1And, when they had clasped one another round for a long time and intertwined the chains of their hands, Asenath said to Joseph: "Come hither, lord, and enter our house, for that on my part I have prepared our house and a great dinner."

2E ela pegou a mão direita dele e o levou para sua casa e o fez sentar na cadeira de Pentephres, seu pai; e ela trouxe água para lavar seus pés.

2And she took hold of his right hand and led him into her house and seated him on the chair of Pentephres her father; and she brought water to wash his feet.

3E José disse: “Que venha uma das virgens e lave meus pés”. E Asenath disse-lhe: "Não, senhor, pois doravante tu és meu senhor e eu sou tua serva. E por que buscas isto, que outra virgem lave teus pés? Pois teus pés são meus pés, e tuas mãos minhas mãos, e tua alma minha alma, e outro não lavará teus pés." E ela o constrangeu e lavou seus pés.

3And Joseph said: "Let one of the virgins come and wash my feet." And Asenath said to him: "Nay, lord, for that henceforth thou art my lord and I am thine handmaid. And wherefore seekest thou this, that another virgin should wash thy feet? for that thy feet are my feet, and thine hands mine hands, and thy soul my soul, and another shall not wash thy feet." And she constrained him and washed his feet.

4Então Joseph pegou sua mão direita e beijou-a com ternura e Asenath beijou sua cabeça com ternura, e então ele a sentou à sua mão direita.

4Then Joseph took hold of her right hand and kissed her tenderly and Asenath kissed his head tenderly, and thereupon he seated her at his right hand.

5Seu pai e sua mãe e todos os seus parentes saíram da posse de sua herança e a viram sentada com José e vestida com roupas de casamento. E eles se maravilharam com sua beleza e se alegraram e glorificaram a Deus que vivifica os mortos.

5Her father and mother and all her kindred then came from the possession of their inheritance, and they saw her sitting with Joseph and clad in a wedding-garment. And they marvelled at her beauty and rejoiced and glorified God who quickeneth the dead.

6E depois destas coisas comeram e beberam; e, todos alegres, Pentephres disse a José: "Amanhã chamarei todos os príncipes e sátrapas de toda a terra do Egito, e farei um casamento para você, e você tomará minha filha Asenath como esposa."

6And after these things they ate and drank; and, all having made cheer, Pentephres said to Joseph: "To-morrow I will call all the princes and satraps of all the land of Egypt, and will make a wedding for you, and thou shalt take my daughter Asenath to wife."

7Mas José disse: "Amanhã irei ao rei Faraó, pois ele mesmo é meu pai e me nomeou governante de toda esta terra, e falarei com ele sobre Asenath, e ele a dará para mim como esposa." E Pentefres lhe disse: “Vá em paz”.

7But Joseph said: "I go to-morrow to Pharaoh the king, for that he himself is my father and appointed me ruler over all this land, and I will speak to him concerning Asenath, and he will give her to me to wife." And Pentephres said to him: "Go in peace."
