1Mas Asenath desprezou e desprezou todos os homens, sendo arrogante e arrogante, e nunca um homem a viu, visto que Pentephres tinha em sua casa uma torre adjacente, grande e extremamente alta, e acima da torre havia um sótão contendo dez câmaras.

1But Asenath set at naught and scorned every man, being boastful and haughty, and never had a man seen her, inasmuch as Pentephres had in his house a tower adjoining, great and high exceedingly, and above the tower was a loft containing ten chambers.

2E a primeira câmara era grande e muito bonita e pavimentada com pedras roxas, e as paredes dela eram revestidas com pedras preciosas e multicoloridas, e o telhado também daquela câmara era de ouro.

2And the first chamber was great and very lovely and paved with purple stones, and the walls thereof were faced with precious and many-coloured stones, and the roof also of that chamber was of gold.

3E dentro daquela câmara, deuses dos egípcios, dos quais não havia número, ouro e prata, foram fixados, e todos aqueles que Asenath adorava, e ela os temia, e ela realizava sacrifícios para eles todos os dias.

3And within that chamber, gods of the Egyptians, whereof was no number, gold and silver, were fixed, and all those Asenath worshipped, and she feared them, and she performed sacrifices to them every day.

4E a segunda câmara também continha todos os adornos e baús de Asenath, e havia ouro nela, e muita prata e vestimentas tecidas em ouro ilimitadas, e pedras escolhidas e de grande preço, e roupas finas de linho, e todos os adornos de sua virgindade estavam lá.

4And the second chamber also contained all Asenath's adorning and chests, and there was gold in it, and much silver and gold-woven raiment unlimited, and stones choice and of great price, and fine garments of linen, and all the adornment of her virginity was there.

5E a terceira câmara era o armazém de Asenath, contendo todas as coisas boas da terra.

5And the third chamber was Asenath's storehouse, containing all the good things of the earth.

6E as sete câmaras restantes foram ocupadas pelas sete virgens que ministravam a Asenath, cada uma tendo uma câmara, pois eram da mesma idade, nascidas na mesma noite com Asenath, e ela as amava muito; e eles também eram extremamente lindos como as estrelas do céu, e nunca um homem conversou com eles ou com uma criança do sexo masculino.

6And the remaining seven chambers the seven virgins who ministered to Asenath occupied, each one having one chamber, for that they were of the same age, born on the same night with Asenath, and she loved them much; and they were also beautiful exceedingly as the stars of heaven, and never did a man converse with them or a male child.

7Agora, a grande câmara de Asenath, onde sua virgindade foi cultivada, tinha três janelas; e a primeira janela era muito grande, dando para o pátio a leste; e o segundo olhou para o sul, e o terceiro olhou para a rua.

7Now Asenath's great chamber where her virginity was fostered had three windows; and the first window was very large, looking over the court to the east; and the second looked toward the south, and the third looked over the street.

8E uma cama dourada ficava na câmara voltada para o leste; e a cama estava posta de tecido púrpura entrelaçado de ouro, sendo a cama tecida de tecido escarlate e carmesim e de linho fino.

8And a golden bedstead stood in the chamber looking toward the east; and the bed was laid with purple stuff interwoven with gold, the bed being woven of scarlet and crimson stuff and fine linen.

9Nesta cama, só Asenath dormia, e nunca um homem ou outra mulher sentou-se nela.

9On this bed, Asenath alone slept, and never had a man or other woman sat thereon.

10E havia também um grande pátio adjacente à casa em todo o redor, e um muro muito alto ao redor do pátio, construído com grandes pedras retangulares; e havia também quatro portões no pátio revestidos de ferro, e cada um deles era guardado por dezoito jovens fortes armados;

10And there was also a great court adjoining the house all round, and an exceeding high wall round the court built of great rectangular stones; and there were also four gates in the court overlaid with iron, and these were kept each by eighteen strong young men armed;

11e também foram plantadas ao longo do muro árvores formosas de todos os tipos e todas dando frutos, com seus frutos maduros, porque era a época da colheita;

11and there were also planted along the wall fair trees of all kinds and all bearing fruit, their fruit being ripe, for it was the season of harvest;

12e havia também uma rica fonte de água brotando à direita do mesmo pátio; e abaixo da fonte havia uma grande cisterna que recebia a água daquela fonte, de onde corria, por assim dizer, um rio que atravessava o pátio e regava todas as árvores daquele pátio.

12and there was also a rich fount of water springing from the right of the same court; and beneath the fount was a great cistern receiving the water of that fount, whence there went, as it were, a river through the midst of the court and it watered all the trees of that court.
