José e Asenete 19

1E, enquanto eles ainda falavam essas coisas, um menino veio dizer a Asenath: "Eis que José está diante das portas de nossa corte."

1And, while they were yet speaking these things, a boy came saying to Asenath: "Lo! Joseph standeth before the doors of our court."

2Então Asenath se apressou e desceu as escadas de seu sótão com as sete virgens para encontrar José e parou na varanda de sua casa. E, tendo José entrado no pátio, os portões foram fechados e todos os estranhos permaneceram do lado de fora.

2Then Asenath hasted and went down the stairs from her loft with the seven virgins to meet Joseph and stood in the porch of her house. And, Joseph having come into the court, the gates were shut and all strangers remained outside.

3E Asenath saiu da varanda para encontrar Joseph, e quando a viu ficou maravilhado com sua beleza, e disse-lhe: "Quem é você, donzela? Diga-me rapidamente." E ela lhe disse: “Eu, senhor, sou tua serva Asenath; todos os ídolos eu lancei fora de mim e eles pereceram.

3And Asenath came out from the porch to meet Joseph, and when he saw her he marvelled at her beauty, and said to her: "Who art thou, damsel? Quickly tell me." And she saith to him: "I, lord, am thine handmaid Asenath; all the idols I have cast away from me and they perished.

4E um homem veio até mim hoje do céu e me deu o pão da vida e eu comi e bebi um cálice abençoado, e ele me disse: 'Eu te dei como noiva para José, e ele mesmo será teu noivo para sempre; e teu nome não será chamado Asenath, mas será chamado de "Cidade de Refúgio", e o Senhor Deus reinará sobre muitas nações, e através de ti eles buscarão refúgio no Deus Altíssimo.'

4And a man came to me to-day from heaven and hath given me bread of life and I ate, and I drank a blessed cup, and he said to me: 'I have given thee for a bride to Joseph, and he himself shall be thy bridegroom for ever; and thy name shall not be called Asenath, but it shall be called "City of Refuge," and the Lord God shall reign over many nations, and through thee shall they seek refuge with God Most High.'

5E o homem disse: 'Irei também a José para dizer-lhe aos ouvidos estas palavras a teu respeito.' E agora você sabe, senhor, se esse homem veio até você e se ele falou com você sobre mim.

5And the man said: 'I will go also to Joseph that I may speak into his ears these words concerning thee.' And now thou knowest, lord, if that man hath come to thee and if he hath spoken to thee concerning me."

6Então Joseph disse a Asenath: "Bendita és tu, mulher, do Deus Altíssimo, e bendito é o teu nome para sempre, porque o Senhor Deus lançou os alicerces dos teus muros, e os filhos do Deus vivo habitarão na tua cidade de refúgio, e o Senhor Deus reinará sobre eles para sempre. Pois aquele homem veio do céu até mim hoje e me disse estas palavras a respeito de ti.

6Then Joseph saith to Asenath: "Blessed art thou, woman, of God Most High, and blessed is thy name for ever, for that the Lord God hath laid the foundations of thy walls, and the sons of the living God shall dwell in thy city of refuge, and the Lord God shall reign over them for ever. For that man came from heaven to me to-day and said these words to me concerning thee.

7E agora venha aqui até mim, virgem e pura, e por que você está tão longe?" Então Joseph estendeu as mãos e abraçou Asenath, e Asenath Joseph, e eles se beijaram por um longo tempo, e ambos viveram novamente em seu espírito.

7And now come hither to me, thou virgin and pure, and wherefore standest thou afar off?" Then Joseph stretched out his hands and embraced Asenath, and Asenath Joseph, and they kissed one another for a long time, and both lived again in their spirit.

8E Joseph beijou Asenath e deu-lhe o espírito de vida, então na segunda vez ele deu-lhe o espírito de sabedoria, e na terceira vez ele a beijou com ternura e deu-lhe o espírito de verdade.

8And Joseph kissed Asenath and gave her the spirit of life, then the second time he gave her the spirit of wisdom, and the third time he kissed her tenderly and gave her the spirit of truth.
