1No dia seguinte, levaram Jesus ao palácio de Caifás.

1The next day, they took Jesus to the palace of Caiaphas.

2Anás e Caifás perguntaram: 'Por que roubaste nossa Lei?'

2Annas and Caiaphas asked: 'Why did you steal our Law?'

3Jesus nada respondeu. Indagaram: 'Por que pretendes destruir o santuário de Salomão?'

3Jesus answered nothing. They asked: 'Why do you intend to destroy the sanctuary of Solomon?'

4Jesus nada respondeu a esta pergunta também.

5Então Anás e Caifás entregaram às escondidas ouro a Judas Iscariotes.

6Disseram: 'Dize que a Lei foi furtada por Jesus, para que o delito recaia sobre ele.'

7Assim, astutamente, tramaram contra o Senhor Jesus.
