João 7

1E depois disto Jesus andava pela Galiléia, e já não queria andar pela Judéia, pois os judeus procuravam matá-lo.

1After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

2E estava próxima a festa dos judeus, a dos tabernáculos.

2Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.

3Disseram-lhe, pois, seus irmãos: Sai daqui, e vai para a Judéia, para que também os teus discípulos vejam as obras que fazes.

3His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

4Porque não há ninguém que procure ser conhecido que faça coisa alguma em oculto. Se fazes estas coisas, manifesta-te ao mundo.

4For {there is} no man {that} doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

5Porque nem mesmo seus irmãos criam nele.

5For neither did his brethren believe in him.

6Disse-lhes, pois, Jesus: Ainda não é chegado o meu tempo, mas o vosso tempo sempre está pronto.

6Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

7O mundo não vos pode odiar, mas ele me odeia a mim, porquanto dele testifico que as suas obras são más.

7The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

8Subi vós a esta festa; eu não subo ainda a esta festa, porque ainda o meu tempo não está cumprido.

8Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.

9E, havendo-lhes dito isto, ficou na Galiléia.

9When he had said these words unto them, he abode {still} in Galilee.

10Mas, quando seus irmãos já tinham subido à festa, então subiu ele também, não manifestamente, mas como em oculto.

10But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11Ora, os judeus procuravam-no na festa, e diziam: Onde está ele?

11Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

12E havia grande murmuração entre a multidão a respeito dele. Diziam alguns: Ele é bom. E outros diziam: Não, antes engana o povo.

12And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

13Todavia ninguém falava dele abertamente, por medo dos judeus.

13Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

14Mas, no meio da festa subiu Jesus ao templo, e ensinava.

14Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

15E os judeus maravilhavam-se, dizendo: Como sabe este letras, não as tendo aprendido?

15And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? {letters: or, learning}

16Jesus lhes respondeu, e disse: A minha doutrina não é minha, mas daquele que me enviou.

16Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

17Se alguém quiser fazer a vontade dele, pela mesma doutrina conhecerá se ela é de Deus, ou se eu falo de mim mesmo.

17If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or {whether} I speak of myself.

18Quem fala de si mesmo busca a sua própria glória; mas o que busca a glória daquele que o enviou, esse é verdadeiro, e não há nele injustiça.

18He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

19Não vos deu Moisés a lei? e nenhum de vós observa a lei. Por que procurais matar-me?

19Did not Moses give you the law, and {yet} none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

20A multidão respondeu, e disse: Tens demônio; quem procura matar-te?

20The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

21Respondeu Jesus, e disse-lhes: Fiz uma só obra, e todos vos maravilhais.

21Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

22Pelo motivo de que Moisés vos deu a circuncisão (não que fosse de Moisés, mas dos pais), no sábado circuncidais um homem.

22Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

23Se o homem recebe a circuncisão no sábado, para que a lei de Moisés não seja quebrantada, indignais-vos contra mim, porque no sábado curei de todo um homem?

23If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? {that...: or, without breaking the law of Moses}

24Não julgueis segundo a aparência, mas julgai segundo a reta justiça.

24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

25Então alguns dos de Jerusalém diziam: Não é este o que procuram matar?

25Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

26E ei-lo aí está falando abertamente, e nada lhe dizem. Porventura sabem verdadeiramente os príncipes que de fato este é o Cristo?

26But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

27Todavia bem sabemos de onde este é; mas, quando vier o Cristo, ninguém saberá de onde ele é.

27Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

28Clamava, pois, Jesus no templo, ensinando, e dizendo: Vós conheceis-me, e sabeis de onde sou; e eu não vim de mim mesmo, mas aquele que me enviou é verdadeiro, o qual vós não conheceis.

28Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

29Mas eu conheço-o, porque dele sou e ele me enviou.

29But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

30Procuravam, pois, prendê-lo, mas ninguém lançou mão dele, porque ainda não era chegada a sua hora.

30Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

31E muitos da multidão creram nele, e diziam: Quando o Cristo vier, fará ainda mais sinais do que os que este tem feito?

31And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this {man} hath done?

32Os fariseus ouviram que a multidão murmurava dele estas coisas; e os fariseus e os principais dos sacerdotes mandaram servidores para o prenderem.

32The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

33Disse-lhes, pois, Jesus: Ainda um pouco de tempo estou convosco, e depois vou para aquele que me enviou.

33Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and {then} I go unto him that sent me.

34Vós me buscareis, e não me achareis; e onde eu estou, vós não podeis vir.

34Ye shall seek me, and shall not find {me}: and where I am, {thither} ye cannot come.

35Disseram, pois, os judeus uns para os outros: Para onde irá este, que o não acharemos? Irá porventura para os dispersos entre os gregos, e ensinará os gregos?

35Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? {Gentiles: or, Greeks}

36Que palavra é esta que disse: Buscar-me-eis, e não me achareis; e: Aonde eu estou vós não podeis ir?

36What {manner of} saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find {me}: and where I am, {thither} ye cannot come?

37E no último dia, o grande dia da festa, Jesus pôs-se em pé, e clamou, dizendo: Se alguém tem sede, venha a mim, e beba.

37In the last day, that great {day} of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38Quem crê em mim, como diz a Escritura, rios de água viva correrão do seu ventre.

38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39E isto disse ele do Espírito que haviam de receber os que nele cressem; porque o Espírito Santo ainda não fora dado, por ainda Jesus não ter sido glorificado.

39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet {given}; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

40Então muitos da multidão, ouvindo esta palavra, diziam: Verdadeiramente este é o Profeta.

40Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

41Outros diziam: Este é o Cristo; mas diziam outros: Vem, pois, o Cristo da Galiléia?

41Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

42Não diz a Escritura que o Cristo vem da descendência de Davi, e de Belém, da aldeia de onde era Davi?

42Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

43Assim entre o povo havia dissensão por causa dele.

43So there was a division among the people because of him.

44E alguns deles queriam prendê-lo, mas ninguém lançou mão dele.

44And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

45E os servidores foram ter com os principais dos sacerdotes e fariseus; e eles lhes perguntaram: Por que não o trouxestes?

45Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

46Responderam os servidores: Nunca homem algum falou assim como este homem.

46The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

47Responderam-lhes, pois, os fariseus: Também vós fostes enganados?

47Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

48Creu nele porventura algum dos principais ou dos fariseus?

48Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

49Mas esta multidão, que não sabe a lei, é maldita.

49But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

50Nicodemos, que era um deles (o que de noite fora ter com Jesus), disse-lhes:

50Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) {to Jesus: Gr. to him}

51Porventura condena a nossa lei um homem sem primeiro o ouvir e ter conhecimento do que faz?

51Doth our law judge {any} man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

52Responderam eles, e disseram-lhe: És tu também da Galiléia? Examina, e verás que da Galiléia nenhum profeta surgiu.

52They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

53E cada um foi para sua casa.

53And every man went unto his own house.
