Jó 8

1Então respondendo Bildade o suíta, disse:

1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

2Até quando falarás tais coisas, e as palavras da tua boca serão como um vento impetuoso?

2How long wilt thou speak these {things}? and {how long shall} the words of thy mouth {be like} a strong wind?

3Porventura perverteria Deus o direito? E perverteria o TodoPoderoso a justiça?

3Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

4Se teus filhos pecaram contra ele, também ele os lançou na mão da sua transgressão.

4If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression; {for...: Heb. in the hand of their transgression}

5Mas, se tu de madrugada buscares a Deus, e ao Todo-Poderoso pedires misericórdia;

5If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

6Se fores puro e reto, certamente logo despertará por ti, e restaurará a morada da tua justiça.

6If thou {wert} pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

7O teu princípio, na verdade, terá sido pequeno, porém o teu último estado crescerá em extremo.

7Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

8Pois, eu te peço, pergunta agora às gerações passadas; e prepara-te para a inquirição de seus pais.

8For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

9Porque nós somos de ontem, e nada sabemos; porquanto nossos dias sobre a terra são como a sombra.

9(For we {are but of} yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth {are} a shadow:) {nothing: Heb. not}

10Porventura não te ensinarão eles, e não te falarão, e do seu coração não tirarão palavras?

10Shall not they teach thee, {and} tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

11Porventura cresce o junco sem lodo? Ou cresce a espadana sem água?

11Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

12Estando ainda no seu verdor, ainda que não cortada, todavia antes de qualquer outra erva se seca.

12Whilst it {is} yet in his greenness, {and} not cut down, it withereth before any {other} herb.

13Assim são as veredas de todos quantos se esquecem de Deus; e a esperança do hipócrita perecerá.

13So {are} the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

14Cuja esperança fica frustrada; e a sua confiança será como a teia de aranha.

14Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust {shall be} a spider's web. {web: Heb. house}

15Encostar-se-á à sua casa, mas ela não subsistirá; apegar-se-á a ela, mas não ficará em pé.

15He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

16Ele é viçoso perante o sol, e os seus renovos saem sobre o seu jardim;

16He {is} green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

17As suas raízes se entrelaçam, junto à fonte; para o pedregal atenta.

17His roots are wrapped about the heap, {and} seeth the place of stones.

18Se Deus o consumir do seu lugar, negá-lo-á este, dizendo: Nunca te vi!

18If he destroy him from his place, then {it} shall deny him, {saying}, I have not seen thee.

19Eis que este é a alegria do seu caminho, e outros brotarão do pó.

19Behold, this {is} the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.

20Eis que Deus não rejeitará ao reto; nem toma pela mão aos malfeitores;

20Behold, God will not cast away a perfect {man}, neither will he help the evil doers: {help...: Heb. take the ungodly by the hand} {come: Heb. shall not be}

21Até que de riso te encha a boca, e os teus lábios de júbilo.

21Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing. {rejoicing: Heb. shouting for joy}

22Os que te odeiam se vestirão de confusão, e a tenda dos ímpios não existirá mais.

22They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought. {shall come...: Heb. shall not be}
