Jó 35

1Respondeu mais Eliú, dizendo:

1Elihu spake moreover, and said,

2Tens por direito dizeres: Maior é a minha justiça do que a de Deus?

2Thinkest thou this to be right, {that} thou saidst, My righteousness {is} more than God's?

3Porque disseste: De que me serviria? Que proveito tiraria mais do que do meu pecado?

3For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? {and}, What profit shall I have, {if I be cleansed} from my sin? {if...: or, by it more than by my sin}

4Eu te darei resposta, a ti e aos teus amigos contigo.

4I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee. {answer...: Heb. return to thee words}

5Atenta para os céus, e vê; e contempla as mais altas nuvens, que são mais altas do que tu.

5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds {which} are higher than thou.

6Se pecares, que efetuarás contra ele? Se as tuas transgressões se multiplicarem, que lhe farás?

6If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or {if} thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

7Se fores justo, que lhe darás, ou que receberá ele da tua mão?

7If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

8A tua impiedade faria mal a outro tal como tu; e a tua justiça aproveitaria ao filho do homem.

8Thy wickedness {may hurt} a man as thou {art}; and thy righteousness {may profit} the son of man.

9Por causa das muitas opressões os homens clamam por causa do braço dos grandes.

9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make {the oppressed} to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

10Porém ninguém diz: Onde está Deus que me criou, que dá salmos durante a noite;

10But none saith, Where {is} God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

11Que nos ensina mais do que aos animais da terra e nos faz mais sábios do que as aves dos céus?

11Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

12Clamam, porém ele não responde, por causa da arrogância dos maus.

12There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

13Certo é que Deus não ouvirá a vaidade, nem atentará para ela o Todo-Poderoso.

13Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

14E quanto ao que disseste, que o não verás, juízo há perante ele; por isso espera nele.

14Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, {yet} judgment {is} before him; therefore trust thou in him.

15Mas agora, porque a sua ira ainda não se exerce, nem grandemente considera a arrogância,

15But now, because {it is} not {so}, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth {it} not in great extremity: {he hath: that is, God hath} {he knoweth: that is, Job knoweth}

16Logo Jó em vão abre a sua boca, e sem ciência multiplica palavras.

16Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
