Jó 33

1Assim, na verdade, ó Jó, ouve as minhas razões, e dá ouvidos a todas as minhas palavras.

1Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.

2Eis que já abri a minha boca; já falou a minha língua debaixo do meu paladar.

2Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth. {in my mouth: Heb. in my palate}

3As minhas razões provam a sinceridade do meu coração, e os meus lábios proferem o puro saber.

3My words {shall be of} the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.

4O Espírito de Deus me fez; e a inspiração do Todo-Poderoso me deu vida.

4The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

5Se podes, responde-me, põe em ordem as tuas razões diante de mim, e apresenta-te.

5If thou canst answer me, set {thy words} in order before me, stand up.

6Eis que vim de Deus, como tu; do barro também eu fui formado.

6Behold, I {am} according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay. {wish: Heb. mouth} {formed: Heb. cut}

7Eis que não te perturbará o meu terror, nem será pesada sobre ti a minha mão.

7Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.

8Na verdade tu falaste aos meus ouvidos; e eu ouvi a voz das tuas palavras. Dizias:

8Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of {thy} words, {saying}, {hearing: Heb. ears}

9Limpo estou, sem transgressão; puro sou, e não tenho iniqüidade.

9I am clean without transgression, I {am} innocent; neither {is there} iniquity in me.

10Eis que procura pretexto contra mim, e me considera como seu inimigo.

10Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,

11Põe no tronco os meus pés, e observa todas as minhas veredas.

11He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

12Eis que nisso não tens razão; eu te respondo; porque maior é Deus do que o homem.

12Behold, {in} this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

13Por que razão contendes com ele, sendo que não responde acerca de todos os seus feitos?

13Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters. {he giveth...: Heb. he answereth not}

14Antes Deus fala uma e duas vezes; porém ninguém atenta para isso.

14For God speaketh once, yea twice, {yet man} perceiveth it not.

15Em sonho ou em visão noturna, quando cai sono profundo sobre os homens, e adormecem na cama.

15In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

16Então o revela ao ouvido dos homens, e lhes sela a sua instrução,

16Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, {he...: Heb. he revealeth, or, uncovereth}

17Para apartar o homem daquilo que faz, e esconder do homem a soberba.

17That he may withdraw man {from his} purpose, and hide pride from man. {purpose: Heb. work}

18Para desviar a sua alma da cova, e a sua vida de passar pela espada.

18He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. {from perishing: Heb. from passing}

19Também na sua cama é castigado com dores; e com incessante contenda nos seus ossos;

19He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong {pain}:

20De modo que a sua vida abomina até o pão, e a sua alma a comida apetecível.

20So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat. {dainty...: Heb. meat of desire}

21Desaparece a sua carne a olhos vistos, e os seus ossos, que não se viam, agora aparecem.

21His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones {that} were not seen stick out.

22E a sua alma se vai chegando à cova, e a sua vida aos que trazem a morte.

22Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.

23Se com ele, pois, houver um mensageiro, um intérprete, um entre milhares, para declarar ao homem a sua retidão,

23If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:

24Então terá misericórdia dele, e lhe dirá: Livra-o, para que não desça à cova; já achei resgate.

24Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. {a ransom: or, an atonement}

25Sua carne se reverdecerá mais do que era na mocidade, e tornará aos dias da sua juventude.

25His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth: {a child's: Heb. childhood}

26Deveras orará a Deus, o qual se agradará dele, e verá a sua face com júbilo, e restituirá ao homem a sua justiça.

26He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

27Olhará para os homens, e dirá: Pequei, e perverti o direito, o que de nada me aproveitou.

27He looketh upon men, and {if any} say, I have sinned, and perverted {that which was} right, and it profited me not; {He...: or, He shall look upon men, and say}

28Porém Deus livrou a minha alma de ir para a cova, e a minha vida verá a luz.

28He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. {He...: or, He hath delivered my soul, etc, and my life}

29Eis que tudo isto é obra de Deus, duas e três vezes para com o homem,

29Lo, all these {things} worketh God oftentimes with man, {oftentimes: Heb. twice and thrice}

30Para desviar a sua alma da perdição, e o iluminar com a luz dos viventes.

30To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

31Escuta, pois, ó Jó, ouve-me; cala-te, e eu falarei.

31Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.

32Se tens alguma coisa que dizer, responde-me; fala, porque desejo justificar-te.

32If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.

33Se não, escuta-me tu; cala-te, e ensinar-te-ei a sabedoria.

33If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
