Jó 27

1E prosseguindo Jó em seu discurso, disse:

1Moreover Job continued his parable, and said, {continued: Heb. added to take up}

2Vive Deus, que desviou a minha causa, e o Todo-Poderoso, que amargurou a minha alma.

2{As} God liveth, {who} hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, {who} hath vexed my soul; {vexed...: Heb. made my soul bitter}

3Que, enquanto em mim houver alento, e o sopro de Deus nas minhas narinas,

3All the while my breath {is} in me, and the spirit of God {is} in my nostrils; {the spirit...: that is, the breath which God gave him}

4Não falarão os meus lábios iniqüidade, nem a minha língua pronunciará engano.

4My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

5Longe de mim que eu vos justifique; até que eu expire, nunca apartarei de mim a minha integridade.

5God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

6À minha justiça me apegarei e não a largarei; não me reprovará o meu coração em toda a minha vida.

6My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach {me} so long as I live. {so long...: Heb. from my days}

7Seja como o ímpio o meu inimigo, e como o perverso o que se levantar contra mim.

7Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.

8Porque qual será a esperança do hipócrita, havendo sido avaro, quando Deus lhe arrancar a sua alma?

8For what {is} the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

9Porventura Deus ouvirá o seu clamor, sobrevindo-lhe a tribulação?

9Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?

10Deleitar-se-á no TodoPoderoso, ou invocará a Deus em todo o tempo?

10Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

11Ensinar-vos-ei acerca da mão de Deus, e não vos encobrirei o que está com o Todo-Poderoso.

11I will teach you by the hand of God: {that} which {is} with the Almighty will I not conceal. {by...: or, being in the hand, etc}

12Eis que todos vós já o vistes; por que, pois, vos desvaneceis na vossa vaidade?

12Behold, all ye yourselves have seen {it}; why then are ye thus altogether vain?

13Esta, pois, é a porção do homem ímpio da parte de Deus, e a herança, que os tiranos receberão do Todo-Poderoso.

13This {is} the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, {which} they shall receive of the Almighty.

14Se os seus filhos se multiplicarem, será para a espada, e a sua prole não se fartará de pão.

14If his children be multiplied, {it is} for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

15Os que ficarem dele na morte serão enterrados, e as suas viúvas não chorarão.

15Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.

16Se amontoar prata como pó, e aparelhar roupas como lodo,

16Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;

17Ele as aparelhará, porém o justo as vestirá, e o inocente repartirá a prata.

17He may prepare {it}, but the just shall put {it} on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

18E edificará a sua casa como a traça, e como o guarda que faz a cabana.

18He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth {that} the keeper maketh.

19Rico se deita, e não será recolhido; abre os seus olhos, e nada terá.

19The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he {is} not.

20Pavores se apoderam dele como águas; de noite o arrebata a tempestade.

20Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.

21O vento oriental leva-o, e ele se vai, e varre-o com ímpeto do seu lugar.

21The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.

22E Deus lançará isto sobre ele, e não lhe poupará; irá fugindo da sua mão.

22For {God} shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand. {he...: Heb. in fleeing he would flee}

23Cada um baterá palmas contra ele e assobiará tirando-o do seu lugar.

23{Men} shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
