1Então respondeu Bildade, o suíta, e disse:

1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

2Com ele estão domínio e temor; ele faz paz nas suas alturas.

2Dominion and fear {are} with him, he maketh peace in his high places.

3Porventura têm número as suas tropas? E sobre quem não se levanta a sua luz?

3Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

4Como, pois, seria justo o homem para com Deus, e como seria puro aquele que nasce de mulher?

4How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean {that is} born of a woman?

5Eis que até a lua não resplandece, e as estrelas não são puras aos seus olhos.

5Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

6E quanto menos o homem, que é um verme, e o filho do homem, que é um vermezinho!

6How much less man, {that is} a worm? and the son of man, {which is} a worm?
