Jeremias 50

1A palavra que falou o SENHOR contra a babilônia, contra a terra dos caldeus, por intermédio de Jeremias, o profeta.

1The word that the LORD spake against Babylon {and} against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet. {by...: Heb. by the hand of Jeremiah}

2Anunciai entre as nações; e fazei ouvir, e arvorai um estandarte, fazei ouvir, não encubrais; dizei: Tomada está babilônia, confundido está Bel, espatifado está Merodaque, confundidos estão os seus ídolos, e quebradas estão as suas imagens.

2Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, {and} conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces. {set up: Heb. lift up}

3Porque subiu contra ela uma nação do norte, que fará da sua terra uma solidão, e não haverá quem nela habite; tanto os homens como os animais fugiram, e se foram.

3For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4Naqueles dias, e naquele tempo, diz o Senhor, os filhos de Israel virão, eles e os filhos de Judá juntamente; andando e chorando virão, e buscarão ao Senhor seu Deus.

4In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.

5Pelo caminho de Sião perguntarão, para ali voltarão os seus rostos, dizendo: Vinde, e unamo-nos ao Senhor, numa aliança eterna que nunca será esquecida.

5They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, {saying}, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant {that} shall not be forgotten.

6Ovelhas perdidas têm sido o meu povo, os seus pastores as fizeram errar, para os montes as desviaram; de monte para outeiro andaram, esqueceram-se do lugar do seu repouso.

6My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away {on} the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. {restingplace: Heb. place to lie down in}

7Todos os que as achavam as devoravam, e os seus adversários diziam: Culpa nenhuma teremos; porque pecaram contra o Senhor, a morada da justiça, sim, o Senhor, a esperança de seus pais.

7All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

8Fugi do meio de babilônia, e saí da terra dos caldeus, e sede como os bodes diante do rebanho.

8Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

9Porque eis que eu suscitarei e farei subir contra a babilônia uma congregação de grandes nações da terra do norte, e se prepararão contra ela; dali será tomada; as suas flechas serão como as de valente herói, nenhuma tornará sem efeito.

9For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows {shall be} as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain. {expert...: or, destroyer}

10A Caldéia servirá de presa; todos os que a saquearam serão fartos, diz o Senhor.

10And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the LORD.

11Porquanto vos alegrastes, e vos regozijastes, ó saqueadores da minha herança, porquanto vos engordastes como novilha no pasto, e mugistes como touros.

11Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls; {fat: Heb. big, or, corpulent} {bellow...: or, neigh as steeds}

12Será mui confundida vossa mãe, ficará envergonhada a que vos deu à luz; eis que ela será a última das nações, um deserto, uma terra seca e uma solidão.

12Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations {shall be} a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

13Por causa do furor do SENHOR não será habitada, antes se tornará em total assolação; qualquer que passar por babilônia se espantará, assobiará por todas as suas pragas.

13Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

14Ordenai-vos contra babilônia ao redor, todos os que armais arcos; atirai-lhe, não poupeis as flechas, porque pecou contra o SENHOR.

14Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.

15Gritai contra ela ao redor, ela já se submeteu; caíram seus fundamentos, estão derrubados os seus muros; porque esta é a vingança do Senhor; vingai-vos dela; como ela fez, assim lhe fazei.

15Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it {is} the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

16Arrancai de babilônia o que semeia, e o que leva a foice no tempo da sega; por causa da espada aflitiva virar-se-á cada um para o seu povo, e fugirá cada um para a sua terra.

16Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land. {sickle; or, scythe}

17Cordeiro desgarrado é Israel; os leões o afugentaram; o primeiro a devorá-lo foi o rei da Assíria; e, por último Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, lhe quebrou os ossos.

17Israel {is} a scattered sheep; the lions have driven {him} away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

18Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que castigarei o rei de babilônia, e a sua terra, como castiguei o rei da Assíria.

18Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19E farei tornar Israel para a sua morada, e ele pastará no Carmelo e em Basã; e fartar-se-á a sua alma no monte de Efraim e em Gileade.

19And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20Naqueles dias, e naquele tempo, diz o Senhor, buscar-se-á a maldade de Israel, e não será achada; e os pecados de Judá, mas não se acharão; porque perdoarei os remanescentes que eu deixar.

20In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and {there shall be} none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

21Sobe contra a terra de Merataim, sim, contra ela, e contra os moradores de Pecode; assola e inteiramente destrói tudo após eles, diz o Senhor, e faze conforme tudo o que te mandei.

21Go up against the land of Merathaim, {even} against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded thee. {of Merathaim: or, of the rebels} {Pekod: or, Visitation}

22Estrondo de batalha há na terra, e de grande destruição.

22A sound of battle {is} in the land, and of great destruction.

23Como foi cortado e quebrado o martelo de toda a terra! Como se tornou babilônia objeto de espanto entre as nações!

23How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

24Laços te armei, e também foste presa, ó babilônia, e tu não o soubeste; foste achada, e também apanhada; porque contra o SENHOR te entremeteste.

24I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD.

25O SENHOR abriu o seu depósito, e tirou os instrumentos da sua indignação; porque o Senhor DEUS dos Exércitos, tem uma obra a realizar na terra dos caldeus.

25The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this {is} the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26Vinde contra ela dos confins da terra, abri os seus celeiros; fazei dela montões de ruínas, e destruí-a de todo; nada lhe fique de sobra.

26Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left. {from...: Heb. from the end} {cast...: or, tread her}

27Matai a todos os seus novilhos, desçam a matança. Ai deles, porque veio o seu dia, o tempo do seu castigo!

27Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.

28Eis a voz dos que fugiram e escaparam da terra de babilônia, para anunciarem em Sião a vingança do SENHOR nosso Deus, a vingança do seu templo.

28The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.

29Convocai contra babilônia os flecheiros, a todos os que armam arcos; acampai-vos contra ela em redor, ninguém escape dela; pagai-lhe conforme a sua obra, conforme tudo o que fez, fazei-lhe; porque se houve arrogantemente contra o SENHOR, contra o Santo de Israel.

29Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.

30Portanto, cairão os seus jovens nas suas ruas; e todos os seus homens de guerra serão desarraigados naquele dia, diz o Senhor.

30Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD.

31Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó soberbo, diz o Senhor DEUS dos Exércitos; porque veio o teu dia, o tempo em que te hei de castigar.

31Behold, I {am} against thee, {O thou} most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time {that} I will visit thee. {most...: Heb. pride}

32Então tropeçará o soberbo, e cairá, e ninguém haverá que o levante; e porei fogo nas suas cidades, o qual consumirá todos os seus arredores.

32And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him. {the...: Heb. pride}

33Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Judá foram oprimidos juntamente; e todos os que os levaram cativos os retiveram, não os quiseram soltar.

33Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah {were} oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

34Mas o seu Redentor é forte, o SENHOR dos Exércitos é o seu nome; certamente pleiteará a causa deles, para dar descanso à terra, e inquietar os moradores de babilônia.

34Their Redeemer {is} strong; the LORD of hosts {is} his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35A espada virá sobre os caldeus, diz o SENHOR, e sobre os moradores de babilônia, e sobre os seus príncipes, e sobre os seus sábios.

35A sword {is} upon the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise {men}.

36A espada virá sobre os mentirosos, e ficarão insensatos; a espada virá sobre os seus poderosos, e desfalecerão.

36A sword {is} upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword {is} upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed. {liars: or, chief stays: Heb. bars}

37A espada virá sobre os seus cavalos, e sobre os seus carros, e sobre toda a mistura de povos, que está no meio dela; e tornar-se-ão como mulheres; a espada virá sobre os seus tesouros, e serão saqueados.

37A sword {is} upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that {are} in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword {is} upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

38Cairá a seca sobre as suas águas, e secarão; porque é uma terra de imagens esculpidas, e pelos seus ídolos andam enfurecidos.

38A drought {is} upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it {is} the land of graven images, and they are mad upon {their} idols.

39Por isso habitarão nela as feras do deserto, com os animais selvagens das ilhas; também habitarão nela as avestruzes; e nunca mais será povoada, nem será habitada de geração em geração.

39Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell {there}, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

40Como quando Deus subverteu a Sodoma e a Gomorra, e as suas cidades vizinhas, diz o Senhor, assim ninguém habitará ali, nem morará nela filho de homem.

40As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour {cities} thereof, saith the LORD; {so} shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

41Eis que um povo vem do norte; uma grande nação e muitos reis se levantarão dos extremos da terra.

41Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

42Armam-se de arco e lança; eles são cruéis, e não têm piedade; a sua voz bramará como o mar, e sobre cavalos cavalgarão, todos postos em ordem como um homem para a batalha, contra ti, ó filha de babilônia.

42They shall hold the bow and the lance: they {are} cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, {every one} put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

43O rei de babilônia ouviu a sua fama, e desfaleceram as suas mãos; a angústia se apoderou dele, como da que está de parto.

43The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, {and} pangs as of a woman in travail.

44Eis que ele como leão subirá da enchente do Jordão, contra a morada forte, porque num momento o farei correr dali; e quem é o escolhido que porei sobre ela? porque quem é semelhante a mim, e quem me fixará o tempo? E quem é o pastor que poderá permanecer perante mim?

44Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who {is} a chosen {man, that} I may appoint over her? for who {is} like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who {is} that shepherd that will stand before me? {appoint me...: or, convent me to plead?}

45Portanto ouvi o conselho do SENHOR, que ele decretou contra babilônia, e os seus desígnios que intentou contra a terra dos caldeus: certamente os pequenos do rebanho serão arrastados; certamente ele assolará as suas moradas sobre eles.

45Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make {their} habitation desolate with them.

46Ao estrondo da tomada de babilônia estremeceu a terra; e o grito se ouviu entre as nações.

46At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.
