Jeremias 49

1Contra os filhos de Amom. Assim diz o SENHOR: Acaso Israel não tem filhos, nem tem herdeiro? Por que, pois, herdou Malcã a Gade e o seu povo habitou nas suas cidades?

1Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why {then} doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities? {Concerning: or, Against} {their king: or, Melcom}

2Portanto, eis que vêm dias, diz o Senhor, em que farei ouvir em Rabá dos filhos de Amom o alarido de guerra, e tornar-se-á num montão de ruínas, e os lugares da sua jurisdição serão queimados a fogo; e Israel herdará aos que o herdaram, diz o Senhor.

2Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.

3Lamenta, ó Hesbom, porque é destruída Ai; clamai, ó filhas de Rabá, cingi-vos de sacos, lamentai, e dai voltas pelos valados; porque Malcã irá em cativeiro, juntamente com seus sacerdotes e os seus príncipes.

3Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, {and} his priests and his princes together. {their king: or, Melcom}

4Por que te glorias nos vales, teus luxuriantes vales, ó filha rebelde, que confias nos teus tesouros, dizendo: Quem virá contra mim?

4Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, {saying}, Who shall come unto me? {thy...: or, thy valley floweth away}

5Eis que eu trarei temor sobre ti, diz o Senhor DEUS dos Exércitos, de todos os que estão ao redor de ti; e sereis lançados fora cada um diante de si, e ninguém recolherá o desgarrado.

5Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.

6Mas depois disto farei voltar os cativos dos filhos de Amom, diz o Senhor.

6And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.

7Acerca de Edom. Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Acaso não há mais sabedoria em Temã? Pereceu o conselho dos entendidos? Corrompeu-se a sua sabedoria?

7Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; {Is} wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

8Fugi, voltai-vos, buscai profundezas para habitar, ó moradores de Dedã, porque eu trarei sobre ele a ruína de Esaú, no tempo em que o castiguei.

8Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time {that} I will visit him. {turn...: or, they are turned back}

9Se vindimadores viessem a ti, não deixariam rabiscos? Se ladrões de noite viessem, não te danificariam quanto lhes bastasse?

9If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave {some} gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough. {till...: Heb. their sufficiency}

10Mas eu despi a Esaú, descobri os seus esconderijos, e não se poderá esconder; foi destruída a sua descendência, como também seus irmãos e seus vizinhos, e ele já não existe.

10But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he {is} not.

11Deixa os teus órfãos, eu os guardarei em vida; e as tuas viúvas confiem em mim.

11Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve {them} alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

12Porque assim diz o Senhor: Eis que os que não estavam condenados a beber do copo, totalmente o beberão; e tu ficarias inteiramente impune? Não ficarás impune, mas certamente o beberás.

12For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment {was} not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and {art} thou he {that} shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink {of it}.

13Porque por mim mesmo jurei, diz o Senhor, que Bozra servirá de espanto, de opróbrio, de assolação, e de maldição; e todas as suas cidades se tornarão em desolações perpétuas.

13For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

14Ouvi novas vindas do Senhor, que um embaixador é enviado aos gentios, para lhes dizer: Ajuntai-vos, e vinde contra ela, e levantai-vos para a guerra.

14I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, {saying}, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

15Porque eis que te fiz pequeno entre os gentios, desprezado entre os homens.

15For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, {and} despised among men.

16Quanto à tua terribilidade, enganou-te a arrogância do teu coração, tu que habitas nas cavernas das rochas, que ocupas as alturas dos outeiros; ainda que eleves o teu ninho como a águia, de lá te derrubarei, diz o Senhor.

16Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, {and} the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.

17Assim servirá Edom de desolação; todo aquele que passar por ela se espantará, e assobiará por causa de todas as suas pragas.

17Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

18Será como a destruição de Sodoma e Gomorra, e dos seus vizinhos, diz o Senhor; não habitará ninguém ali, nem morará nela filho de homem.

18As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour {cities} thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.

19Eis que ele como leão subirá da enchente do Jordão contra a morada do forte; porque num momento o farei correr dali; e quem é o escolhido que porei sobre ela? Pois quem é semelhante a mim? e quem me fixará o tempo? e quem é o pastor que subsistirá perante mim?

19Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who {is} a chosen {man, that} I may appoint over her? for who {is} like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who {is} that shepherd that will stand before me? {appoint me...: or, convent me in judgment?}

20Portanto ouvi o conselho do Senhor, que ele decretou contra Edom, e os seus desígnios que ele intentou entre os moradores de Temã: Certamente os menores do rebanho serão arrastados; certamente ele assolará as suas moradas com eles.

20Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.

21A terra estremeceu com o estrondo da sua queda; e do seu grito, até ao Mar Vermelho se ouviu o som.

21The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea. {Red sea: Heb. Weedy sea}

22Eis que ele como águia subirá, e voará, e estenderá as suas asas contra Bozra; e o coração dos valentes de Edom naquele dia será como o coração da mulher que está com dores de parto.

22Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

23Acerca de Damasco. Envergonhou-se Hamate e Arpade, porquanto ouviram más novas, desmaiaram; no mar há angústia, não se pode sossegar.

23Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; {there is} sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. {fainthearted: Heb. melted} {on...: or, as on the sea}

24Enfraquecida está Damasco; virou as costas para fugir, e o tremor a tomou; angústia e dores a tomaram como da que está de parto.

24Damascus is waxed feeble, {and} turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on {her}: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

25Como está abandonada a cidade do louvor, a cidade da minha alegria!

25How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

26Portanto cairão os seus jovens nas suas ruas; e todos os homens de guerra serão consumidos naquele dia, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

26Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.

27E acenderei fogo no muro de Damasco, e consumirá os palácios de Bene-Hadade.

27And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.

28Acerca de Quedar, e dos reinos de Hazor, que Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, feriu. Assim diz o SENHOR: Levantai-vos, subi contra Quedar, e destruí os filhos do oriente.

28Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.

29Tomarão as suas tendas, os seus gados, as suas cortinas e todos os seus utensílios, e os seus camelos levarão para si; e lhes clamarão: Há medo por todos os lados.

29Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear {is} on every side.

30Fugi, desviai-vos para muito longe, buscai profundezas para habitar, ó moradores de Hazor, diz o SENHOR; porque Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, tomou conselho contra vós, e formou um desígnio contra vós.

30Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you. {get...: Heb. flit greatly}

31Levantai-vos, subi contra uma nação tranqüila, que habita confiadamente, diz o Senhor, que não tem portas, nem ferrolhos; habitam sós.

31Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, {which} dwell alone. {wealthy: or, that is at ease}

32E os seus camelos serão para presa, e a multidão dos seus gados para despojo; e os espalharei a todo o vento, àqueles que estão nos lugares mais distantes, e de todos os seus lados lhes trarei a sua ruína, diz o Senhor.

32And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them {that are} in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD. {in...: Heb. cut off into corners, or, that have the corners of their hair polled}

33E Hazor se tornará em morada de chacais, em assolação para sempre; ninguém habitará ali, nem morará nela filho de homem.

33And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, {and} a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor {any} son of man dwell in it.

34A palavra do Senhor, que veio a Jeremias, o profeta, contra Elão, no princípio do reinado de Zedequias, rei de Judá, dizendo:

34The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

35Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eis que eu quebrarei o arco de Elão, o principal do seu poder.

35Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

36E trarei sobre Elão os quatro ventos dos quatro cantos dos céus, e os espalharei na direção de todos estes ventos; e não haverá nação aonde não cheguem os fugitivos de Elão.

36And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

37E farei que Elão tema diante de seus inimigos e diante dos que procuram a sua morte; e farei vir sobre eles o mal, o furor da minha ira, diz o Senhor; e enviarei após eles a espada, até que venha a consumi-los.

37For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, {even} my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

38E porei o meu trono em Elão; e destruirei dali o rei e os príncipes, diz o Senhor.

38And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.

39Acontecerá, porém, nos últimos dias, que farei voltar os cativos de Elão, diz o Senhor.

39But it shall come to pass in the latter days, {that} I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
