Jeremias 29

1E Estas são as palavras da carta que Jeremias, o profeta, enviou de Jerusalém, aos que restaram dos anciãos do cativeiro, como também aos sacerdotes, e aos profetas, e a todo o povo que Nabucodonosor havia deportado de Jerusalém para babilônia

1Now these {are} the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon;

2(Depois que saíram de Jerusalém o rei Jeconias, e a rainha, e os eunucos, e os príncipes de Judá e Jerusalém, e os carpinteiros e ferreiros),

2(After that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem;) {eunuchs: or, chamberlains}

3Pela mão de Elasa, filho de Safã, e de Gemarias, filho de Hilquias (os quais Zedequias, rei de Judá, tinha enviado a babilônia, a Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia), dizendo:

3By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying,

4Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, a todos os do cativeiro, os quais fiz transportar de Jerusalém para babilônia:

4Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;

5Edificai casas e habitai-as; e plantai jardins, e comei o seu fruto.

5Build ye houses, and dwell {in them}; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;

6Tomai mulheres e gerai filhos e filhas, e tomai mulheres para vossos filhos, e dai vossas filhas a maridos, para que tenham filhos e filhas; e multiplicai-vos ali, e não vos diminuais.

6Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.

7E procurai a paz da cidade, para onde vos fiz transportar em cativeiro, e orai por ela ao Senhor; porque na sua paz vós tereis paz.

7And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

8Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Não vos enganem os vossos profetas que estão no meio de vós, nem os vossos adivinhos, nem deis ouvidos aos vossos sonhos, que sonhais;

8For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that {be} in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

9Porque eles vos profetizam falsamente em meu nome; não os enviei, diz o Senhor.

9For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD. {falsely: Heb. in a lie}

10Porque assim diz o SENHOR: Certamente que passados setenta anos em babilônia, vos visitarei, e cumprirei sobre vós a minha boa palavra, tornando a trazer-vos a este lugar.

10For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

11Porque eu bem sei os pensamentos que tenho a vosso respeito, diz o Senhor; pensamentos de paz, e não de mal, para vos dar o fim que esperais.

11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. {expected...: Heb. end and expectation}

12Então me invocareis, e ireis, e orareis a mim, e eu vos ouvirei.

12Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13E buscar-me-eis, e me achareis, quando me buscardes com todo o vosso coração.

13And ye shall seek me, and find {me}, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14E serei achado de vós, diz o Senhor, e farei voltar os vossos cativos e congregar-vos-ei de todas as nações, e de todos os lugares para onde vos lancei, diz o Senhor, e tornarei a trazer-vos ao lugar de onde vos transportei.

14And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

15Porque dizeis: O SENHOR nos levantou profetas em babilônia.

15Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;

16Porque assim diz o Senhor acerca do rei que se assenta no trono de Davi, e de todo o povo que habita nesta cidade, vossos irmãos, que não saíram conosco para o cativeiro.

16{Know} that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, {and} of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;

17Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eis que enviarei entre eles a espada, a fome e a peste, e fá-los-ei como a figos podres que não se podem comer, de ruins que são.

17Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

18E persegui-los-ei com a espada, com a fome, e com a peste; e dá-los-ei para deslocarem-se por todos os reinos da terra, para serem uma maldição, e um espanto, e um assobio, e um opróbrio entre todas as nações para onde os tiver lançado.

18And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them: {to be a curse: Heb. for a curse}

19Porquanto não deram ouvidos às minhas palavras, diz o Senhor, mandando-lhes eu os meus servos, os profetas, madrugando e enviando; mas vós não escutastes, diz o Senhor.

19Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending {them}; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.

20Vós, pois, ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, todos os do cativeiro que enviei de Jerusalém a babilônia.

20Hear ye therefore the word of the LORD, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon:

21Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, acerca de Acabe, filho de Colaías, e de Zedequias, filho de Maaséias, que vos profetizam falsamente em meu nome: Eis que os entregarei na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, e ele os ferirá diante dos vossos olhos.

21Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;

22E todos os transportados de Judá, que estão em babilônia, tomarão deles uma maldição, dizendo: O SENHOR te faça como Zedequias, e como Acabe, os quais o rei de babilônia assou no fogo;

22And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which {are} in Babylon, saying, The LORD make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;

23Porquanto fizeram loucura em Israel, e cometeram adultério com as mulheres dos seus vizinhos, e anunciaram falsamente, em meu nome uma palavra, que não lhes mandei, e eu o sei e sou testemunha disso, diz o Senhor.

23Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and {am} a witness, saith the LORD.

24E a Semaías, o neelamita, falarás, dizendo:

24{Thus} shalt thou also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying, {Nehelamite: or, dreamer}

25Assim fala o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, dizendo: Porquanto tu enviaste no teu nome cartas a todo o povo que está em Jerusalém, como também a Sofonias, filho de Maaséias, o sacerdote, e a todos os sacerdotes, dizendo:

25Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that {are} at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

26O Senhor te pôs por sacerdote em lugar de Joiada, o sacerdote, para que sejas encarregado da casa do Senhor sobre todo o homem fanático, e que profetiza, para o lançares na prisão e no tronco.

26The LORD hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man {that is} mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks.

27Agora, pois, por que não repreendeste a Jeremias, o anatotita, que vos profetiza?

27Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you?

28Porque até nos mandou dizer em babilônia: Ainda o cativeiro muito há de durar; edificai casas, e habitai nelas; e plantai pomares, e comei o seu fruto.

28For therefore he sent unto us {in} Babylon, saying, This {captivity is} long: build ye houses, and dwell {in them}; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

29E leu Sofonias, o sacerdote, esta carta aos ouvidos de Jeremias, o profeta.

29And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

30E veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:

30Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,

31Manda a todos os do cativeiro, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor acerca de Semaías, o neelamita: Porquanto Semaías vos profetizou, e eu não o enviei, e vos fez confiar em mentiras,

31Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:

32Portanto assim diz o Senhor: Eis que castigarei a Semaías, o neelamita, e a sua descendência; ele não terá ninguém que habite entre este povo, e não verá o bem que hei de fazer ao meu povo, diz o Senhor, porque falou em rebeldia contra o Senhor.

32Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD. {rebellion: Heb. revolt}
