Isaías 7

1Sucedeu, pois, nos dias de Acaz, filho de Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, que Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém, para pelejarem contra ela, mas nada puderam contra ela.

1And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, {that} Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

2E deram aviso à casa de Davi, dizendo: A Síria fez aliança com Efraim. Então se moveu o seu coração, e o coração do seu povo, como se movem as árvores do bosque com o vento.

2And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind. {is confederate...: Heb. resteth on}

3Então disse o Senhor a Isaías: Agora, tu e teu filho Sear-Jasube, saí ao encontro de Acaz, ao fim do canal do tanque superior, no caminho do campo do lavandeiro.

3Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field; {Shearjashub: that is, The remnant shall return} {highway: or, causeway}

4E dize-lhe: Acautela-te, e aquieta-te; não temas, nem se desanime o teu coração por causa destes dois pedaços de tições fumegantes; por causa do ardor da ira de Rezim, e da Síria, e do filho de Remalias.

4And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. {neither...: Heb. let not thy heart be tender}

5Porquanto a Síria teve contra ti maligno conselho, com Efraim, e com o filho de Remalias, dizendo:

5Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

6Vamos subir contra Judá, e molestemo-lo e repartamo-lo entre nós, e façamos reinar no meio dele o filho de Tabeal.

6Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, {even} the son of Tabeal: {vex: or, waken}

7Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Isto não subsistirá, nem tampouco acontecerá.

7Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

8Porém a cabeça da Síria será Damasco, e a cabeça de Damasco Rezim; e dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim será destruído, e deixará de ser povo.

8For the head of Syria {is} Damascus, and the head of Damascus {is} Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. {that...: Heb. from a people}

9Entretanto a cabeça de Efraim será Samaria, e a cabeça de Samaria o filho de Remalias; se não o crerdes, certamente não haveis de permanecer.

9And the head of Ephraim {is} Samaria, and the head of Samaria {is} Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. {If...: or, Do ye not believe? it is because ye are not stable}

10E continuou o Senhor a falar com Acaz, dizendo:

10Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, {Moreover...: Heb. And the LORD added to speak}

11Pede para ti ao Senhor teu Deus um sinal; pede-o, ou em baixo nas profundezas, ou em cima nas alturas.

11Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. {ask it...: or, make thy petition deep}

12Acaz, porém, disse: Não pedirei, nem tentarei ao Senhor.

12But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.

13Então ele disse: Ouvi agora, ó casa de Davi: Pouco vos é afadigardes os homens, senão que também afadigareis ao meu Deus?

13And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; {Is it} a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

14Portanto o mesmo Senhor vos dará um sinal: Eis que a virgem conceberá, e dará à luz um filho, e chamará o seu nome Emanuel.

14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. {shall call: or, thou, O virgin, shalt call}

15Manteiga e mel comerá, quando ele souber rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.

15Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

16Na verdade, antes que este menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra, de que te enfadas, será desamparada dos seus dois reis.

16For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

17Porém o Senhor fará vir sobre ti, e sobre o teu povo, e sobre a casa de teu pai, pelo rei da Assíria, dias tais, quais nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Efraim se separou de Judá.

17The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; {even} the king of Assyria.

18Porque há de acontecer que naquele dia assobiará o Senhor às moscas, que há no extremo dos rios do Egito, e às abelhas que estão na terra da Assíria;

18And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} the LORD shall hiss for the fly that {is} in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that {is} in the land of Assyria.

19E todas elas virão, e pousarão nos vales desertos e nas fendas das rochas, e em todos os espinheiros e em todos os arbustos.

19And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes. {bushes: or, commendable trees}

20Naquele mesmo dia rapará o Senhor com uma navalha alugada, que está além do rio, isto é, com o rei da Assíria, a cabeça e os cabelos dos pés; e até a barba totalmente tirará.

20In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, {namely}, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.

21E sucederá naquele dia que um homem criará uma novilha e duas ovelhas.

21And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;

22E acontecerá que por causa da abundância do leite que elas hão de dar, comerá manteiga; e manteiga e mel comerá todo aquele que restar no meio da terra.

22And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk {that} they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land. {the land: Heb. the midst of the land}

23Sucederá também naquele dia que todo o lugar, em que houver mil vides, do valor de mil siclos de prata, será para as sarças e para os espinheiros.

23And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall {even} be for briers and thorns.

24Com arco e flecha se entrará ali, porque toda a terra será sarças e espinheiros.

24With arrows and with bows shall {men} come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.

25E quanto a todos os montes, que costumavam cavar com enxadas, para ali não irás por causa do temor das sarças e dos espinheiros; porém servirão para se mandarem para lá os bois e para serem pisados pelas ovelhas.

25And {on} all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
