Isaías 47

1Desce, e assenta-te no pó, ó virgem filha de babilônia; assenta-te no chão; já não há trono, ó filha dos caldeus, porque nunca mais serás chamada a tenra nem a delicada.

1Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: {there is} no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

2Toma a mó, e mói a farinha; remove o teu véu, descalça os pés, descobre as pernas e passa os rios.

2Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

3A tua vergonha se descobrirá, e ver-se-á o teu opróbrio; tomarei vingança, e não pouparei a homem algum.

3Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet {thee as} a man.

4O nosso redentor cujo nome é o Senhor dos Exércitos, é o Santo de Israel.

4{As for} our redeemer, the LORD of hosts {is} his name, the Holy One of Israel.

5Assenta-te calada, e entra nas trevas, ó filha dos caldeus, porque nunca mais serás chamada senhora de reinos.

5Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.

6Muito me agastei contra o meu povo, profanei a minha herança, e os entreguei na tua mão; porém não usaste com eles de misericórdia, e até sobre os velhos fizeste muito pesado o teu jugo.

6I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.

7E disseste: Eu serei senhora para sempre; até agora não te importaste com estas coisas, nem te lembraste do fim delas.

7And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: {so} that thou didst not lay these {things} to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.

8Agora, pois, ouve isto, tu que és dada a prazeres, que habitas tão segura, que dizes no teu coração: Eu o sou, e fora de mim não há outra; não ficarei viúva, nem conhecerei a perda de filhos.

8Therefore hear now this, {thou that art} given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I {am}, and none else beside me; I shall not sit {as} a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

9Porém ambas estas coisas virão sobre ti num momento, no mesmo dia, perda de filhos e viuvez; em toda a sua plenitude virão sobre ti, por causa da multidão das tuas feitiçarias, e da grande abundância dos teus muitos encantamentos.

9But these two {things} shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, {and} for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

10Porque confiaste na tua maldade e disseste: Ninguém me pode ver; a tua sabedoria e o teu conhecimento, isso te fez desviar, e disseste no teu coração: Eu sou, e fora de mim não há outra.

10For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I {am}, and none else beside me. {perverted...: or, caused thee to turn away}

11Portanto sobre ti virá o mal, sem que saibas a sua origem, e tal destruição cairá sobre ti, sem que a possas evitar; e virá sobre ti de repente desolação que não poderás conhecer.

11Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, {which} thou shalt not know. {from...: Heb. the morning thereof} {put: Heb. expiate}

12Deixa-te estar com os teus encantamentos, e com a multidão das tuas feitiçarias, em que trabalhaste desde a tua mocidade, a ver se podes tirar proveito, ou se porventura te podes fortalecer.

12Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

13Cansaste-te na multidão dos teus conselhos; levantem-se pois agora os agoureiros dos céus, os que contemplavam os astros, os prognosticadores das luas novas, e salvem-te do que há de vir sobre ti.

13Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from {these things} that shall come upon thee. {astrologers: Heb. viewers of the heavens} {the monthly...: Heb. that give knowledge concerning the months}

14Eis que serão como a pragana, o fogo os queimará; não poderão salvar a sua vida do poder das chamas; não haverá brasas, para se aquentar, nem fogo para se assentar junto dele.

14Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: {there shall} not {be} a coal to warm at, {nor} fire to sit before it. {themselves: Heb. their souls}

15Assim serão para contigo aqueles com quem trabalhaste, os teus negociantes desde a tua mocidade; cada qual irá vagueando pelo seu caminho; ninguém te salvará.

15Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, {even} thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
