Isaías 23

1Peso de Tiro. Uivai, navios de Társis, porque está assolada, a ponto de não haver nela casa nenhuma, e de ninguém mais entrar nela; desde a terra de Quitim lhes foi isto revelado.

1The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

2Calai-vos, moradores da ilha, vós a quem encheram os mercadores de Sidom, navegando pelo mar.

2Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished. {still: Heb. silent}

3E a sua provisão era a semente de Sior, que vinha com as muitas águas, a ceifa do Nilo, e ela era a feira das nações.

3And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, {is} her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

4Envergonha-te, ó Sidom, porque o mar, a fortaleza do mar, fala, dizendo: Eu não tive dores de parto, nem dei à luz, nem ainda criei jovens, nem eduquei virgens.

4Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, {even} the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, {nor} bring up virgins.

5Como quando se ouviram as novas do Egito, assim haverá dores quando se ouvirem as de Tiro.

5As at the report concerning Egypt, {so} shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.

6Passai a Társis; clamai, moradores da ilha.

6Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.

7É esta, porventura, a vossa cidade exultante, cuja origem é dos dias antigos, cujos pés a levaram para longe a peregrinar?

7{Is} this your joyous {city}, whose antiquity {is} of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn. {afar...: Heb. from afar off}

8Quem formou este desígnio contra Tiro, distribuidora de coroas, cujos mercadores são príncipes e cujos negociantes são os mais nobres da terra?

8Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning {city}, whose merchants {are} princes, whose traffickers {are} the honourable of the earth?

9O Senhor dos Exércitos formou este desígnio para denegrir a soberba de toda a glória, e envilecer os mais nobres da terra.

9The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, {and} to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth. {to stain: Heb. to pollute}

10Passa como o Nilo pela tua terra, ó filha de Társis; já não há quem te restrinja.

10Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: {there is} no more strength. {strength: Heb. girdle}

11Ele estendeu a sua mão sobre o mar, e turbou os reinos; o Senhor deu ordens contra Canaã, para que se destruíssem as suas fortalezas.

11He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant {city}, to destroy the strong holds thereof. {against...: or, concerning a merchantman} {the merchant city: Heb. Canaan} {strong...: or, strengths}

12E disse: Nunca mais exultarás de alegria, ó oprimida virgem, filha de Sidom; levanta-te, passa a Quitim, e ainda ali não terás descanso.

12And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.

13Vede a terra dos caldeus, ainda este povo não era povo; a Assíria a fundou para os que moravam no deserto; levantaram as suas fortalezas, e edificaram os seus palácios; porém converteu-a em ruína.

13Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, {till} the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; {and} he brought it to ruin.

14Uivai, navios de Társis, porque está destruída a vossa fortaleza.

14Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.

15Naquele dia Tiro será posta em esquecimento por setenta anos, conforme os dias de um rei; porém no fim de setenta anos Tiro cantará como uma prostituta.

15And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. {shall Tyre...: Heb. it shall be unto Tyre as the song of an harlot}

16Toma a harpa, rodeia a cidade, ó prostituta entregue ao esquecimento; faça doces melodias, canta muitas canções, para que haja memória de ti.

16Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

17Porque será no fim de setenta anos que o Senhor visitará a Tiro, e ela tornará à sua ganância de prostituta, e prostituir-se-á com todos os reinos que há sobre a face da terra.

17And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

18E o seu comércio e a sua ganância de prostituta serão consagrados ao Senhor; não se entesourará, nem se fechará; mas o seu comércio será para os que habitam perante o Senhor, para que comam até se saciarem, e tenham vestimenta durável.

18And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing. {durable: Heb. old}
