Isaías 2

1Palavra que viu Isaías, filho de Amós, a respeito de Judá e de Jerusalém.

1The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2E acontecerá nos últimos dias que se firmará o monte da casa do Senhor no cume dos montes, e se elevará por cima dos outeiros; e concorrerão a ele todas as nações.

2And it shall come to pass in the last days, {that} the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. {established: or, prepared}

3E irão muitos povos, e dirão: Vinde, subamos ao monte do Senhor, à casa do Deus de Jacó, para que nos ensine os seus caminhos, e andemos nas suas veredas; porque de Sião sairá a lei, e de Jerusalém a palavra do Senhor.

3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4E ele julgará entre as nações, e repreenderá a muitos povos; e estes converterão as suas espadas em enxadões e as suas lanças em foices; uma nação não levantará espada contra outra nação, nem aprenderão mais a guerrear.

4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. {pruninghooks: or, scythes}

5Vinde, ó casa de Jacó, e andemos na luz do Senhor.

5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

6Mas tu desamparaste o teu povo, a casa de Jacó, porque se encheram dos costumes do oriente e são agoureiros como os filisteus; e associam-se com os filhos dos estrangeiros,

6Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and {are} soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers. {from...: or, more than the} {please...: or, abound with the}

7E a sua terra está cheia de prata e ouro, e não têm fim os seus tesouros; também a sua terra está cheia de cavalos, e os seus carros não têm fim.

7Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither {is there any} end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither {is there any} end of their chariots:

8Também a sua terra está cheia de ídolos; inclinam-se perante a obra das suas mãos, diante daquilo que fabricaram os seus dedos.

8Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

9E o povo se abate, e os nobres se humilham; portanto não lhes perdoarás.

9And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.

10Entra nas rochas, e esconde-te no pó, do terror do Senhor e da glória da sua majestade.

10Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.

11Os olhos altivos dos homens serão abatidos, e a sua altivez será humilhada; e só o Senhor será exaltado naquele dia.

11The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

12Porque o dia do Senhor dos Exércitos será contra todo o soberbo e altivo, e contra todo o que se exalta, para que seja abatido;

12For the day of the LORD of hosts {shall be} upon every {one that is} proud and lofty, and upon every {one that is} lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

13E contra todos os cedros do Líbano, altos e sublimes; e contra todos os carvalhos de Basã;

13And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, {that are} high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

14E contra todos os montes altos, e contra todos os outeiros elevados;

14And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills {that are} lifted up,

15E contra toda a torre alta, e contra todo o muro fortificado;

15And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,

16E contra todos os navios de Társis, e contra todas as pinturas desejáveis.

16And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. {pleasant...: Heb. pictures of desire}

17E a arrogância do homem será humilhada, e a sua altivez se abaterá, e só o Senhor será exaltado naquele dia.

17And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

18E todos os ídolos desaparecerão totalmente.

18And the idols he shall utterly abolish. {he...: or, shall utterly pass away}

19Então os homens entrarão nas cavernas das rochas, e nas covas da terra, do terror do Senhor, e da glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para assombrar a terra.

19And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. {of the earth: Heb. of the dust}

20Naquele dia o homem lançará às toupeiras e aos morcegos os seus ídolos de prata, e os seus ídolos de ouro, que fizeram para diante deles se prostrarem.

20In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made {each one} for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; {his idols of silver...: Heb. the idols of his silver, etc} {each...: or, for him}

21E entrarão nas fendas das rochas, e nas cavernas das penhas, por causa do terror do Senhor, e da glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para abalar terrivelmente a terra.

21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

22Deixai-vos do homem cujo fôlego está nas suas narinas; pois em que se deve ele estimar?

22Cease ye from man, whose breath {is} in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
