Isaías 14

1Porque o SENHOR se compadecerá de Jacó, e ainda escolherá a Israel e os porá na sua própria terra; e ajuntar-se-ão com eles os estrangeiros, e se achegarão à casa de Jacó.

1For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

2E os povos os receberão, e os levarão aos seus lugares, e a casa de Israel os possuirá por servos, e por servas, na terra do Senhor; e cativarão aqueles que os cativaram, e dominarão sobre os seus opressores.

2And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors. {whose...: Heb. that had taken them captives}

3E acontecerá que no dia em que o Senhor vier a dar-te descanso do teu sofrimento, e do teu pavor, e da dura servidão com que te fizeram servir,

3And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

4Então proferirás este provérbio contra o rei de babilônia, e dirás: Como já cessou o opressor, como já cessou a cidade dourada!

4That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased! {proverb: or, taunting speech} {golden...: or, exactress of gold}

5Já quebrantou o Senhor o bastão dos ímpios e o cetro dos dominadores.

5The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, {and} the sceptre of the rulers.

6Aquele que feria aos povos com furor, com golpes incessantes, e que com ira dominava sobre as nações agora é perseguido, sem que alguém o possa impedir.

6He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, {and} none hindereth. {a continual...: Heb. a stroke without removing}

7Já descansa, já está sossegada toda a terra; rompem cantando.

7The whole earth is at rest, {and} is quiet: they break forth into singing.

8Até as faias se alegram sobre ti, e os cedros do Líbano, dizendo: Desde que tu caíste ninguém sobe contra nós para nos cortar.

8Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, {and} the cedars of Lebanon, {saying}, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

9O inferno desde o profundo se turbou por ti, para te sair ao encontro na tua vinda; despertou por ti os mortos, e todos os chefes da terra, e fez levantar dos seus tronos a todos os reis das nações.

9Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet {thee} at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, {even} all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. {Hell: or, The grave} {chief...: Heb. leaders, or, great goats}

10Estes todos responderão, e te dirão: Tu também adoeceste como nós, e foste semelhante a nós.

10All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

11Já foi derrubada na sepultura a tua soberba com o som das tuas violas; os vermes debaixo de ti se estenderão, e os bichos te cobrirão.

11Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, {and} the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

12Como caíste desde o céu, ó Lúcifer, filho da alva! Como foste cortado por terra, tu que debilitavas as nações!

12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! {how} art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! {O Lucifer: or, O day star}

13E tu dizias no teu coração: Eu subirei ao céu, acima das estrelas de Deus exaltarei o meu trono, e no monte da congregação me assentarei, aos lados do norte.

13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14Subirei sobre as alturas das nuvens, e serei semelhante ao Altíssimo.

14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15E contudo levado serás ao inferno, ao mais profundo do abismo.

15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16Os que te virem te contemplarão, considerar-te-ão, e dirão: É este o homem que fazia estremecer a terra e que fazia tremer os reinos?

16They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, {and} consider thee, {saying, Is} this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17Que punha o mundo como o deserto, e assolava as suas cidades? Que não abria a casa de seus cativos?

17{That} made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; {that} opened not the house of his prisoners? {opened...: or, did not let his prisoners loose homeward?}

18Todos os reis das nações, todos eles, jazem com honra, cada um na sua morada.

18All the kings of the nations, {even} all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

19Porém tu és lançado da tua sepultura, como um renovo abominável, como as vestes dos que foram mortos atravessados à espada, como os que descem ao covil de pedras, como um cadáver pisado.

19But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, {and as} the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

20Com eles não te reunirás na sepultura; porque destruíste a tua terra e mataste o teu povo; a descendência dos malignos não será jamais nomeada.

20Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, {and} slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

21Preparai a matança para os seus filhos por causa da maldade de seus pais, para que não se levantem, e nem possuam a terra, e encham a face do mundo de cidades.

21Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

22Porque me levantarei contra eles, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, e extirparei de babilônia o nome, e os sobreviventes, o filho e o neto, diz o SENHOR.

22For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

23E farei dela uma possessão de ouriços e a lagoas de águas; e varrê-la-ei com vassoura de perdição, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

23I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

24O Senhor dos Exércitos jurou, dizendo: Como pensei, assim sucederá, e como determinei, assim se efetuará.

24The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, {so} shall it stand:

25Quebrantarei a Assíria na minha terra, e nas minhas montanhas a pisarei, para que o seu jugo se aparte deles e a sua carga se desvie dos seus ombros.

25That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

26Este é o propósito que foi determinado sobre toda a terra; e esta é a mão que está estendida sobre todas as nações.

26This {is} the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this {is} the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27Porque o Senhor dos Exércitos o determinou; quem o invalidará? E a sua mão está estendida; quem pois a fará voltar atrás?

27For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul {it}? and his hand {is} stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

28No ano em que morreu o rei Acaz, foi dada esta sentença.

28In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.

29Não te alegres, tu, toda a Filístia, por estar quebrada a vara que te feria; porque da raiz da cobra sairá um basilisco, e o seu fruto será uma serpente ardente, voadora.

29Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit {shall be} a fiery flying serpent. {cockatrice: or, adder}

30E os primogênitos dos pobres serão apascentados, e os necessitados se deitarão seguros; porém farei morrer de fome a tua raiz, e ele matará os teus sobreviventes.

30And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.

31Dá uivos, ó porta, grita, ó cidade; tu, ó Filístia, estás toda derretida; porque do norte vem uma fumaça, e não haverá quem fique sozinho nas suas convocações.

31Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, {art} dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none {shall be} alone in his appointed times. {none...: or, he shall not be alone} {appointed...: or, assemblies}

32Que se responderá, pois, aos mensageiros da nação? Que o Senhor fundou a Sião, para que os opressos do seu povo nela encontrem refúgio.

32What shall {one} then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it. {trust...: or, betake themselves unto it}
