1Capítulo 9 — Ore pela igreja na Síria.

1Chapter 9 — Pray for the church in Syria.

2Lembre-se em suas orações da Igreja na Síria, que agora tem Deus como pastor, em vez de mim.

2Remember in your prayers the Church in Syria, which now has God for its shepherd, instead of me.

3Somente Jesus Cristo supervisionará isso, e seu amor também cuidará disso.

3Jesus Christ alone will oversee it, and your love will also regard it.

4Mas quanto a mim, tenho vergonha de ser considerado um deles; pois na verdade eu não sou digno, sendo o último deles, e nascido fora do tempo devido.

4But as for me, I am ashamed to be counted one of them; for indeed I am not worthy, as being the very last of them, and one born out of due time.

5Mas obtive misericórdia para ser alguém, se eu alcançar Deus.

5But I have obtained mercy to be somebody, if I shall attain to God.

6Meu espírito saúda você e o amor das Igrejas que me receberam em nome de Jesus Cristo, e não como um mero transeunte.

6My spirit salutes you, and the love of the Churches that have received me in the name of Jesus Christ, and not as a mere passer-by.

7Pois mesmo aquelas igrejas que não estavam perto de mim no caminho, isto é, segundo a carne, foram antes de mim, cidade por cidade, ao meu encontro.

7For even those Churches which were not near to me in the way, I mean according to the flesh, have gone before me, city by city, to meet me.

8Recordai nas vossas orações a Igreja que está na Síria, que, em vez de mim, tem agora como pastor o Senhor, que diz: «Eu sou o bom Pastor».

8Remember in your prayers the Church which is in Syria, which, instead of me, has now for its shepherd the Lord, who says, "I am the good Shepherd".

9E somente Ele supervisionará isso, assim como o seu amor por Ele.

9And He alone will oversee it, as well as your love towards Him.

10Mas quanto a mim, tenho vergonha de ser considerado um deles; pois não sou digno, sendo o último deles e nascido fora do tempo devido.

10But as for me, I am ashamed to be counted one of them; for I am not worthy, as being the very last of them, and one born out of due time.

11Mas obtive misericórdia para ser alguém, se eu alcançar Deus.

11But I have obtained mercy to be somebody, if I shall attain to God.

12Meu espírito saúda você e o amor das Igrejas que me receberam em nome de Jesus Cristo, e não como um mero transeunte.

12My spirit salutes you, and the love of the Churches which have received me in the name of Jesus Christ, and not as a mere passer-by.

13Pois mesmo aquelas Igrejas que não estavam perto de mim no caminho, me levaram adiante, cidade por cidade.

13For even those Churches which were not near to me in the way, have brought me forward, city by city.
