1Capítulo 8 - Sede-me favoráveis.

1Chapter 8 — Be ye favourable to me.

2Não desejo mais viver à maneira dos homens, e meu desejo será satisfeito se vocês consentirem.

2I no longer wish to live after the manner of men, and my desire shall be fulfilled if ye consent.

3Estejam dispostos, então, para que vocês também possam ter seus desejos satisfeitos.

3Be ye willing, then, that ye also may have your desires fulfilled.

4Rogo-lhe nesta breve carta; você me dá crédito.

4I entreat you in this brief letter; do ye give credit to me.

5Jesus Cristo vos revelará estas coisas, para que saibais que falo a verdade.

5Jesus Christ will reveal these things to you, so that ye shall know that I speak truly.

6Ele é a boca totalmente livre de falsidade, pela qual o Pai verdadeiramente falou.

6He is the mouth altogether free from falsehood, by which the Father has truly spoken.

7Rogai por mim, para que eu possa alcançar o objeto do meu desejo.

7Pray ye for me, that I may attain the object of my desire.

8Não vos escrevi segundo a carne, mas segundo a vontade de Deus.

8I have not written to you according to the flesh, but according to the will of God.

9Se eu sofrer, vocês me desejaram o bem; mas se eu for rejeitado, vocês me odiarão.

9If I shall suffer, ye have wished well to me; but if I am rejected, ye have hated me.

10Não desejo mais viver à maneira dos homens, e meu desejo será satisfeito se vocês consentirem.

10I no longer wish to live after the manner of men, and my desire shall be fulfilled if ye consent.

11“Estou crucificado com Cristo: contudo vivo; mas já não sou mais, pois Cristo vive em mim”.

11"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet no longer I, since Christ liveth in me".

12Rogo-lhe nesta breve carta: não me recuse; acredite em mim que eu amo Jesus, que foi entregue à morte por minha causa.

12I entreat you in this brief letter: do not refuse me; believe me that I love Jesus, who was delivered to death for my sake.

13"O que devo render ao Senhor por todos os Seus benefícios para comigo?" Agora Deus, o Pai, e o Senhor Jesus Cristo, vos revelarão estas coisas, para que saibais que falo a verdade.

13"What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits towards me?" Now God, even the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, shall reveal these things to you, so that ye shall know that I speak truly.

14E orem comigo, para que eu possa atingir meu objetivo no Espírito Santo.

14And do ye pray along with me, that I may attain my aim in the Holy Spirit.

15Não vos escrevi segundo a carne, mas segundo a vontade de Deus.

15I have not written to you according to the flesh, but according to the will of God.

16Se eu sofrer, vocês me amaram; mas se eu for rejeitado, vocês me odiarão.

16If I shall suffer, ye have loved me; but if I am rejected, ye have hated me.
