Inácio aos Romanos 6

1Capítulo 6 - Pela morte alcançarei a verdadeira vida.

1Chapter 6 — By death I shall attain true life.

2Todos os prazeres do mundo e todos os reinos desta terra de nada me aproveitarão.

2All the pleasures of the world, and all the kingdoms of this earth, shall profit me nothing.

3É melhor para mim morrer em nome de Jesus Cristo do que reinar sobre todos os confins da terra.

3It is better for me to die in behalf of Jesus Christ, than to reign over all the ends of the earth.

4"Pois que aproveitará o homem se ganhar o mundo inteiro, mas perder a sua alma?" Aquele que procuro, que morreu por nós: Aquele que desejo, que ressuscitou por nossa causa.

4"For what shall a man be profited, if he gain the whole world, but lose his own soul?" Him I seek, who died for us: Him I desire, who rose again for our sake.

5Este é o ganho que está reservado para mim.

5This is the gain which is laid up for me.

6Perdoem-me, irmãos: não me impeçam de viver, não queiram manter-me em estado de morte; e embora eu deseje pertencer a Deus, não me entregueis ao mundo.

6Pardon me, brethren: do not hinder me from living, do not wish to keep me in a state of death; and while I desire to belong to God, do not ye give me over to the world.

7Permita-me obter luz pura: quando eu for para lá, serei realmente um homem de Deus.

7Suffer me to obtain pure light: when I have gone thither, I shall indeed be a man of God.

8Permita-me ser um imitador da paixão do meu Deus.

8Permit me to be an imitator of the passion of my God.

9Se alguém O tem dentro de si, considere o que desejo e tenha simpatia por mim, sabendo como estou em dificuldades.

9If any one has Him within himself, let him consider what I desire, and let him have sympathy with me, as knowing how I am straitened.

10Todos os confins do mundo e todos os reinos desta terra de nada me aproveitarão.

10All the ends of the world, and all the kingdoms of this earth, shall profit me nothing.

11É melhor para mim morrer por causa de Jesus Cristo, do que reinar sobre todos os confins da terra.

11It is better for me to die for the sake of Jesus Christ, than to reign over all the ends of the earth.

12"Pois que aproveita ao homem se ganhar o mundo inteiro, mas perder a sua alma?" Anseio pelo Senhor, o Filho do verdadeiro Deus e Pai, sim, Jesus Cristo.

12"For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, but lose his own soul?" I long after the Lord, the Son of the true God and Father, even Jesus Christ.

13Aquele que eu procuro, que morreu por nós e ressuscitou.

13Him I seek, who died for us and rose again.

14Perdoem-me, irmãos: não me impeçam de alcançar a vida; pois Jesus é a vida dos crentes.

14Pardon me, brethren: do not hinder me in attaining to life; for Jesus is the life of believers.

15Não queira me manter em estado de morte, pois a vida sem Cristo é morte.

15Do not wish to keep me in a state of death, for life without Christ is death.

16Embora eu deseje pertencer a Deus, não me entregueis ao mundo.

16While I desire to belong to God, do not ye give me over to the world.

17Permita-me obter luz pura: quando eu for para lá, serei realmente um homem de Deus.

17Suffer me to obtain pure light: when I have gone thither, I shall indeed be a man of God.

18Permita-me ser um imitador da paixão de Cristo, meu Deus.

18Permit me to be an imitator of the passion of Christ, my God.

19Se alguém O tem dentro de si, considere o que desejo e tenha simpatia por mim, sabendo como estou em dificuldades.

19If any one has Him within himself, let him consider what I desire, and let him have sympathy with me, as knowing how I am straitened.
