1Chapter 3 — Exhortations.

2Não deixe aqueles que parecem dignos de crédito, mas ensinam doutrinas estranhas, te encherem de apreensão.

2Let not those who seem worthy of credit, but teach strange doctrines, fill thee with apprehension.

3Permaneça firme, como faz uma bigorna que é batida.

3Stand firm, as does an anvil which is beaten.

4É parte de um atleta nobre ser ferido e ainda assim vencer.

4It is the part of a noble athlete to be wounded, and yet to conquer.

5E especialmente, devemos suportar todas as coisas por causa de Deus, para que Ele também possa suportar conosco.

5And especially, we ought to bear all things for the sake of God, that He also may bear with us.

6Seja cada vez mais zeloso do que você é.

6Be ever becoming more zealous than what thou art.

7Pese cuidadosamente os tempos.

7Weigh carefully the times.

8Procure Aquele que está acima de todos os tempos, eterno e invisível, mas que se tornou visível por nossa causa; impalpável e impassível, mas que se tornou passível por nossa causa; e que de todas as maneiras sofreram por nossa causa.

8Look for Him who is above all time, eternal and invisible, yet who became visible for our sakes; impalpable and impassible, yet who became passible on our account; and who in every kind of way suffered for our sakes.

9Let not those who seem worthy of credit, but teach strange doctrines, fill thee with apprehension.

10Permaneça firme, como faz uma bigorna que é batida.

10Stand firm, as does an anvil which is beaten.

11É parte de um atleta nobre ser ferido e ainda assim vencer.

11It is the part of a noble athlete to be wounded, and yet to conquer.

12E especialmente devemos suportar todas as coisas por causa de Deus, para que Ele também possa suportar conosco e nos levar ao Seu reino.

12And especially we ought to bear all things for the sake of God, that He also may bear with us, and bring us into His kingdom.

13Adicione mais e mais à sua diligência; corra sua corrida com energia crescente; pese cuidadosamente os tempos.

13Add more and more to thy diligence; run thy race with increasing energy; weigh carefully the times.

14Enquanto você estiver aqui, seja um conquistador; pois aqui está o curso e ali estão as coroas.

14Whilst thou art here, be a conqueror; for here is the course, and there are the crowns.

15Procure Cristo, o Filho de Deus; que existia antes do tempo, mas apareceu no tempo; que era invisível por natureza, mas visível na carne; quem era impalpável e não podia ser tocado, como estando sem corpo, mas por nossa causa tornou-se tal, poderia ser tocado e manuseado no corpo; que era impassível como Deus, mas se tornou passível por nossa causa como homem; e que de todas as maneiras sofreram por nossa causa.

15Look for Christ, the Son of God; who was before time, yet appeared in time; who was invisible by nature, yet visible in the flesh; who was impalpable, and could not be touched, as being without a body, but for our sakes became such, might be touched and handled in the body; who was impassible as God, but became passible for our sakes as man; and who in every kind of way suffered for our sakes.
