1Capítulo 10 – Cuidado com a judaização.

1Chapter 10 — Beware of Judaizing.

2Não sejamos, portanto, insensíveis à Sua bondade.

2Let us not, therefore, be insensible to His kindness.

3Pois se Ele nos recompensasse de acordo com nossas obras, deixaríamos de existir.

3For were He to reward us according to our works, we should cease to be.

4Portanto, tendo nos tornado Seus discípulos, aprendamos a viver de acordo com os princípios do Cristianismo.

4Therefore, having become His disciples, let us learn to live according to the principles of Christianity.

5Porque todo aquele que é chamado por qualquer outro nome além deste, não é de Deus.

5For whosoever is called by any other name besides this, is not of God.

6Deixem de lado, portanto, o fermento mau, o fermento velho e azedo, e transformem-se no fermento novo, que é Jesus Cristo.

6Lay aside, therefore, the evil, the old, the sour leaven, and be ye changed into the new leaven, which is Jesus Christ.

7Sede salgados Nele, para que nenhum de vós se corrompa, pois pelo vosso sabor sereis convencidos.

7Be ye salted in Him, lest any one among you should be corrupted, since by your savour ye shall be convicted.

8É um absurdo professar Cristo Jesus e judaizar.

8It is absurd to profess Christ Jesus, and to Judaize.

9Pois o Cristianismo não abraçou o Judaísmo, mas o Judaísmo, o Cristianismo, para que toda língua que crê possa ser reunida a Deus.

9For Christianity did not embrace Judaism, but Judaism Christianity, that so every tongue which believeth might be gathered together to God.

10Não sejamos, portanto, insensíveis à Sua bondade.

10Let us not, therefore, be insensible to His kindness.

11Pois se Ele nos recompensasse de acordo com nossas obras, deixaríamos de existir.

11For were He to reward us according to our works, we should cease to be.

12Pois "se Tu, Senhor, observares as iniquidades, ó Senhor, quem subsistirá?" Provemo-nos, portanto, dignos daquele nome que recebemos.

12For "if Thou, Lord, shalt mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?" Let us therefore prove ourselves worthy of that name which we have received.

13Porque todo aquele que é chamado por qualquer outro nome além deste, não é de Deus; pois ele não recebeu a profecia que fala assim a nosso respeito: “O povo será chamado por um novo nome, que o Senhor lhes dará, e será um povo santo”.

13For whosoever is called by any other name besides this, he is not of God; for he has not received the prophecy which speaks thus concerning us: "The people shall be called by a new name, which the Lord shall name them, and shall be a holy people".

14Isto foi cumprido pela primeira vez na Síria; pois “os discípulos foram chamados cristãos em Antioquia”, quando Paulo e Pedro estavam lançando os alicerces da Igreja.

14This was first fulfilled in Syria; for "the disciples were called Christians at Antioch," when Paul and Peter were laying the foundations of the Church.

15Deixem de lado, portanto, o fermento mau, velho e corrupto, e sejam transformados no novo fermento da graça.

15Lay aside, therefore, the evil, the old, the corrupt leaven, and be ye changed into the new leaven of grace.

16Permaneça em Cristo, para que o estranho não tenha domínio sobre você.

16Abide in Christ, that the stranger may not have dominion over you.

17É absurdo falar de Jesus Cristo com a língua e nutrir na mente um Judaísmo que agora chegou ao fim.

17It is absurd to speak of Jesus Christ with the tongue, and to cherish in the mind a Judaism which has now come to an end.

18Pois onde há Cristianismo não pode haver Judaísmo.

18For where there is Christianity there cannot be Judaism.

19Porque Cristo é aquele em quem toda nação que crê, e toda língua que confessa, está reunida para Deus.

19For Christ is one, in whom every nation that believes, and every tongue that confesses, is gathered unto God.

20E aqueles que tinham um coração de pedra tornaram-se filhos de Abraão, o amigo de Deus; e em sua semente foram abençoados todos aqueles que foram ordenados para a vida eterna em Cristo.

20And those that were of a stony heart have become the children of Abraham, the friend of God; and in his seed all those have been blessed who were ordained to eternal life in Christ.
