1Capítulo 9 — O Antigo Testamento é bom: o Novo Testamento é melhor.

1Chapter 9 — The Old Testament is good: the New Testament is better.

2Os sacerdotes são realmente bons, mas o Sumo Sacerdote é melhor; a quem o Santo dos Santos foi confiado e a quem somente foram confiados os segredos de Deus.

2The priests indeed are good, but the High Priest is better; to whom the holy of holies has been committed, and who alone has been trusted with the secrets of God.

3Ele é a porta do Pai, pela qual entram Abraão, e Isaque, e Jacó, e os profetas, e os apóstolos, e a Igreja.

3He is the door of the Father, by which enter in Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the prophets, and the apostles, and the Church.

4Todos estes têm por objetivo alcançar a unidade de Deus.

4All these have for their object the attaining to the unity of God.

5Mas o Evangelho possui algo transcendente acima da dispensação anterior, viz.

5But the Gospel possesses something transcendent above the former dispensation, viz.

6, a aparição de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, Sua paixão e ressurreição.

6, the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ, His passion and resurrection.

7Pois os amados profetas O anunciaram, mas o Evangelho é a perfeição da imortalidade.

7For the beloved prophets announced Him, but the Gospel is the perfection of immortality.

8Todas essas coisas são boas juntas, se você acredita no amor.

8All these things are good together, if ye believe in love.

9Os sacerdotes, de fato, e os ministros da palavra, são bons; mas é melhor o Sumo Sacerdote, a quem o Santo dos Santos foi confiado e o único a quem foram confiados os segredos de Deus.

9The priests indeed, and the ministers of the word, are good; but the High Priest is better, to whom the holy of holies has been committed, and who alone has been entrusted with the secrets of God.

10Os poderes ministradores de Deus são bons.

10The ministering powers of God are good.

11O Consolador é santo, e o Verbo é santo, o Filho do Pai, por quem Ele fez todas as coisas e exerce uma providência sobre todas elas.

11The Comforter is holy, and the Word is holy, the Son of the Father, by whom He made all things, and exercises a providence over them all.

12Este é o Caminho que leva ao Pai, à Rocha, à Defesa, à Chave, ao Pastor, ao Sacrifício, à Porta do conhecimento, através da qual entraram Abraão, e Isaque, e Jacó, Moisés e toda a companhia dos profetas, e estes pilares do mundo, os apóstolos, e a esposa de Cristo, por cuja conta Ele derramou Seu próprio sangue, como sua porção de casamento, para que Ele pudesse redimi-la.

12This is the Way which leads to the Father, the Rock, the Defence, the Key, the Shepherd, the Sacrifice, the Door of knowledge, through which have entered Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, Moses and all the company of the prophets, and these pillars of the world, the apostles, and the spouse of Christ, on whose account He poured out His own blood, as her marriage portion, that He might redeem her.

13Todas estas coisas tendem para a unidade do único e verdadeiro Deus.

13All these things tend towards the unity of the one and only true God.

14Mas o Evangelho possui algo transcendente acima da dispensação anterior, viz.

14But the Gospel possesses something transcendent above the former dispensation, viz.

15a aparição de nosso Salvador Jesus Cristo, Sua paixão e a própria ressurreição.

15the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, His passion, and the resurrection itself.

16Pois aquelas coisas que os profetas anunciaram, dizendo: “Até que venha aquele a quem está reservado, e Ele será a expectativa dos gentios”, foram cumpridas no Evangelho, nosso Senhor dizendo: “Ide e ensinai todas as nações, batizando-as em nome do Pai, e do Filho, e do Espírito Santo”.

16For those things which the prophets announced, saying, "Until He come for whom it is reserved, and He shall be the expectation of the Gentiles," have been fulfilled in the Gospel, our Lord saying, "Go ye and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost".

17Todos então são bons juntos, a lei, os profetas, os apóstolos, todo o grupo de outros que creram através deles: somente se amarmos uns aos outros.

17All then are good together, the law, the prophets, the apostles, the whole company of others that have believed through them: only if we love one another.
