Inácio aos Filadélfios 7

1Capítulo 7 — Eu os exortei à unidade.

1Chapter 7 — I have exhorted you to unity.

2Porque, embora alguns me enganem segundo a carne, o Espírito, como vindo de Deus, não é enganado.

2For though some would have deceived me according to the flesh, yet the Spirit, as being from God, is not deceived.

3Pois sabe de onde vem e para onde vai, e detecta os segredos do coração.

3For it knows both whence it comes and whither it goes, and detects the secrets of the heart.

4Pois, quando estive entre vós, clamei, falei em alta voz: dai ouvidos ao bispo, e ao presbitério e aos diáconos.

4For, when I was among you, I cried, I spoke with a loud voice: Give heed to the bishop, and to the presbytery and deacons.

5Ora, alguns suspeitavam que eu tivesse falado assim, por saber de antemão a divisão causada por alguns de vocês.

5Now, some suspected me of having spoken thus, as knowing beforehand the division caused by some among you.

6Mas Ele é minha testemunha, por amor de quem estou preso, de que não recebi informações de nenhum homem.

6But He is my witness, for whose sake I am in bonds, that I got no intelligence from any man.

7Mas o Espírito proclamou estas palavras: Nada façais sem o bispo; mantenham seus corpos como templos de Deus; amar a unidade; evite divisões; sejam seguidores de Jesus Cristo, assim como Ele é de Seu Pai.

7But the Spirit proclaimed these words: Do nothing without the bishop; keep your bodies as the temples of God; love unity; avoid divisions; be the followers of Jesus Christ, even as He is of His Father.

8Porque, embora alguns me quisessem enganar segundo a carne, o meu espírito não foi enganado; pois eu o recebi de Deus.

8For though some would have deceived me according to the flesh, yet my spirit is not deceived; for I have received it from God.

9Pois sabe de onde vem e para onde vai, e detecta os segredos do coração.

9For it knows both whence it comes and whither it goes, and detects the secrets of the heart.

10Porque quando estive entre vós, chorei, falei em alta voz — a palavra não é minha, mas de Deus — dai ouvidos ao bispo, e ao presbitério e aos diáconos.

10For when I was among you, I cried, I spoke with a loud voice—the word is not mine, but God's—Give heed to the bishop, and to the presbytery and deacons.

11Mas se vocês suspeitam que eu falei assim, como tendo aprendido de antemão a divisão causada por alguns entre vocês, Ele é minha testemunha, por amor de quem estou preso, que não aprendi nada disso da boca de qualquer homem.

11But if ye suspect that I spake thus, as having learned beforehand the division caused by some among you, He is my witness, for whose sake I am in bonds, that I learned nothing of it from the mouth of any man.

12Mas o Espírito me fez um anúncio, dizendo o seguinte: Não faça nada sem o bispo; mantenham seus corpos como templos de Deus; amar a unidade; evite divisões; sede seguidores de Paulo e dos demais apóstolos, como também eles o foram de Cristo.

12But the Spirit made an announcement to me, saying as follows: Do nothing without the bishop; keep your bodies as the temples of God; love unity; avoid divisions; be ye followers of Paul, and of the rest of the apostles, even as they also were of Christ.
