1Chapter 5 — Their dangerous errors.

2Alguns O negam ignorantemente, ou melhor, foram negados por Ele, sendo os defensores da morte e não da verdade.

2Some ignorantly deny Him, or rather have been denied by Him, being the advocates of death rather than of the truth.

3Essas pessoas não foram persuadidas pelos profetas, nem pela lei de Moisés, nem pelo Evangelho até hoje, nem pelos sofrimentos que suportamos individualmente.

3These persons neither have the prophets persuaded, nor the law of Moses, nor the Gospel even to this day, nor the sufferings we have individually endured.

4Pois eles também pensam a mesma coisa a nosso respeito.

4For they think also the same thing regarding us.

5Pois que me aproveita alguém, se me elogiar, mas blasfemar contra o meu Senhor, não confessando que Ele realmente possuía um corpo? Mas quem não reconhece isso, na verdade O negou completamente, sendo envolvido pela morte.

5For what does any one profit me, if he commends me, but blasphemes my Lord, not confessing that He was truly possessed of a body? But he who does not acknowledge this, has in fact altogether denied Him, being enveloped in death.

6Contudo, não achei bom escrever os nomes de tais pessoas, visto que são incrédulas.

6I have not, however, thought good to write the names of such persons, inasmuch as they are unbelievers.

7Sim, longe de mim fazer qualquer menção a eles, até que se arrependam e retornem a uma verdadeira crença na paixão de Cristo, que é a nossa ressurreição.

7Yea, far be it from me to make any mention of them, until they repent and return to a true belief in Christ's passion, which is our resurrection.

8Alguns O negaram por ignorância e defendem a falsidade em vez da verdade.

8Some have ignorantly denied Him, and advocate falsehood rather than the truth.

9Essas pessoas não foram persuadidas pelas profecias, nem pela lei de Moisés, nem pelo Evangelho até hoje, nem pelos sofrimentos que suportamos individualmente.

9These persons neither have the prophecies persuaded, nor the law of Moses, nor the Gospel even to this day, nor the sufferings we have individually endured.

10Pois eles também pensam a mesma coisa a nosso respeito.

10For they think also the same thing regarding us.

11Pois que aproveita se alguém me elogia, mas blasfema contra meu Senhor, não reconhecendo que Ele é Deus encarnado? Aquele que não confessa isso, na verdade O negou completamente, sendo envolvido pela morte.

11For what does it profit, if any one commends me, but blasphemes my Lord, not owning Him to be God incarnate? He that does not confess this, has in fact altogether denied Him, being enveloped in death.

12Contudo, não achei bom escrever os nomes de tais pessoas, visto que são incrédulas; e longe de mim fazer qualquer menção a eles, até que se arrependam.

12I have not, however, thought good to write the names of such persons, inasmuch as they are unbelievers; and far be it from me to make any mention of them, until they repent.
