2Inácio, também chamado Teóforo, à Igreja de Deus Pai e do amado Jesus Cristo, que pela misericórdia obteve todo tipo de dom, que é cheio de fé e amor, e não carece de nenhum dom, muitíssimo digno de Deus e adornado de santidade: a Igreja que está em Esmirna, na Ásia, deseja abundância de felicidade, através do Espírito imaculado e da palavra de Deus.

2Ignatius, who is also called Theophorus, to the Church of God the Father, and of the beloved Jesus Christ, which has through mercy obtained every kind of gift, which is filled with faith and love, and is deficient in no gift, most worthy of God, and adorned with holiness:the Church which is at Smyrna, in Asia, wishes abundance of happiness, through the immaculate Spirit and word of God.

5Eu glorifico a Deus, sim, Jesus Cristo, que lhe deu tanta sabedoria.

5I Glorify God, even Jesus Christ, who has given you such wisdom.

6Pois tenho observado que estais aperfeiçoados em uma fé inabalável, como se estivésseis pregados na cruz de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, tanto na carne como no espírito, e estais estabelecidos no amor por meio do sangue de Cristo, estando totalmente persuadidos com respeito a nosso Senhor, de que Ele era verdadeiramente da semente de Davi segundo a carne, e o Filho de Deus segundo a vontade e o poder de Deus; que Ele nasceu verdadeiramente de uma virgem, foi batizado por João, para que toda justiça fosse cumprida por Ele; e foi verdadeiramente, sob Pôncio Pilatos e Herodes, o tetrarca, pregado na cruz por nós em Sua carne.

6For I have observed that ye are perfected in an immoveable faith, as if ye were nailed to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, both in the flesh and in the spirit, and are established in love through the blood of Christ, being fully persuaded with respect to our Lord, that He was truly of the seed of David according to the flesh, and the Son of God according to the will and power of God; that He was truly born of a virgin, was baptized by John, in order that all righteousness might be fulfilled by Him; and was truly, under Pontius Pilate and Herod the tetrarch, nailed to the cross for us in His flesh.

7Deste fruto somos, por Sua paixão divinamente abençoada, para que Ele possa estabelecer um padrão para todas as épocas, através de Sua ressurreição, para todos os Seus seguidores santos e fiéis, seja entre judeus ou gentios, no único corpo de Sua Igreja.

7Of this fruit we are by His divinely-blessed passion, that He might set up a standard for all ages, through His resurrection, to all His holy and faithful followers, whether among Jews or Gentiles, in the one body of His Church.

8Eu glorifico o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que por Ele vos deu tal sabedoria.

8I Glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who by Him has given you such wisdom.

9Pois tenho observado que estais aperfeiçoados em uma fé inabalável, como se estivésseis pregados na cruz de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, tanto na carne como no espírito, e estais estabelecidos no amor através do sangue de Cristo, sendo plenamente persuadidos, em verdade, com respeito a nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que Ele era o Filho de Deus, "o primogênito de toda criatura", Deus o Verbo, o Filho unigênito, e era da semente de Davi segundo a carne, pela Virgem Maria; foi batizado por João, para que toda a justiça fosse cumprida por Ele; que Ele viveu uma vida de santidade sem pecado, e foi verdadeiramente, sob Pôncio Pilatos e Herodes, o tetrarca, pregado na cruz por nós em Sua carne.

9For I have observed that ye are perfected in an immoveable faith, as if ye were nailed to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, both in the flesh and in the spirit, and are established in love through the blood of Christ, being fully persuaded, in very truth, with respect to our Lord Jesus Christ, that He was the Son of God, "the first-born of every creature," God the Word, the only-begotten Son, and was of the seed of David according to the flesh, by the Virgin Mary; was baptized by John, that all righteousness might be fulfilled by Him; that He lived a life of holiness without sin, and was truly, under Pontius Pilate and Herod the tetrarch, nailed to the cross for us in His flesh.

10De quem também derivamos nosso ser, de Sua paixão divinamente abençoada, para que Ele pudesse estabelecer um padrão para todos os tempos, por meio de Sua ressurreição, para todos os Seus seguidores santos e fiéis, seja entre judeus ou gentios, no único corpo de Sua Igreja.

10From whom we also derive our being, from His divinely-blessed passion, that He might set up a standard for the ages, through His resurrection, to all His holy and faithful followers, whether among Jews or Gentiles, in the one body of His Church.
