Inácio aos Efésios 9

1Capítulo 9 - Não deis ouvidos aos falsos mestres.

1Chapter 9 — Ye have given no heed to false teachers.

2No entanto, ouvi falar de alguns que disto transmitiram a vocês, tendo falsa doutrina, os quais não permitistes semear entre vós, mas taparam os ouvidos, para que não recebêsseis as coisas que por eles foram semeadas, como sendo pedras do templo do Pai, preparadas para a construção de Deus Pai, e elevadas ao alto pelo instrumento de Jesus Cristo, que é a cruz, fazendo uso do Espírito Santo como uma corda, enquanto sua fé foi o meio pelo qual você ascendeu, e seu amor o caminho que levou até Deus.

2Nevertheless, I have heard of some who have passed on from this to you, having false doctrine, whom ye did not suffer to sow among you, but stopped your ears, that ye might not receive those things which were sown by them, as being stones of the temple of the Father, prepared for the building of God the Father, and drawn up on high by the instrument of Jesus Christ, which is the cross, making use of the Holy Spirit as a rope, while your faith was the means by which you ascended, and your love the way which led up to God.

3Vós, portanto, assim como todos os vossos companheiros de viagem, sois portadores de Deus, portadores do templo, portadores de Cristo, portadores de santidade, adornados em todos os aspectos com os mandamentos de Jesus Cristo, em quem também exulto por ter sido considerado digno, por meio desta Epístola, de conversar e me alegrar com vocês, porque com respeito à sua vida cristã vocês não amam nada além de Deus somente.

3Ye, therefore, as well as all your fellow-travellers, are God-bearers, temple-bearers, Christ-bearers, bearers of holiness, adorned in all respects with the commandments of Jesus Christ, in whom also I exult that I have been thought worthy, by means of this Epistle, to converse and rejoice with you, because with respect to your Christian life ye love nothing but God only.

4No entanto, ouvi falar de alguns que passaram entre vocês, adeptos da perversa doutrina do espírito estranho e maligno; a quem não permitistes a entrada para semear o joio, mas tapastes os ouvidos para não receberdes o erro que foi proclamado por eles, como estando persuadidos de que aquele espírito que engana o povo não fala as coisas de Cristo, mas as suas próprias, pois ele é um espírito mentiroso.

4Nevertheless, I have heard of some who have passed in among you, holding the wicked doctrine of the strange and evil spirit; to whom ye did not allow entrance to sow their tares, but stopped your ears that ye might not receive that error which was proclaimed by them, as being persuaded that that spirit which deceives the people does not speak the things of Christ, but his own, for he is a lying spirit.

5Mas o Espírito Santo não fala as coisas dele, mas as de Cristo, e isso não vem de si mesmo, mas do Senhor; assim como o Senhor também nos anunciou as coisas que recebeu do Pai.

5But the Holy Spirit does not speak His own things, but those of Christ, and that not from himself, but from the Lord; even as the Lord also announced to us the things that He received from the Father.

6Pois, diz Ele, “a palavra que ouvistes não é minha, mas do Pai, que me enviou”.

6For, says He, "the word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father's, who sent Me".

7E diz Ele do Espírito Santo: “Ele não falará de si mesmo, mas de tudo o que ouvir de mim”.

7And says He of the Holy Spirit, "He shall not speak of Himself, but whatsoever things He shall hear from Me".

8E Ele diz de Si mesmo ao Pai: “Eu Te glorifiquei”, diz Ele, “na terra; terminei a obra que Me deste; manifestei o Teu nome aos homens”.

8And He says of Himself to the Father, "I have," says He, "glorified Thee upon the earth; I have finished the work which, Thou gavest Me; I have manifested Thy name to men".

9E do Espírito Santo: “Ele me glorificará, porque recebe do que é meu”.

9And of the Holy Ghost, "He shall glorify Me, for He receives of Mine".

10Mas o espírito do engano prega a si mesmo e fala o que lhe é próprio, pois procura agradar a si mesmo.

10But the spirit of deceit preaches himself, and speaks his own things, for he seeks to please himself.

11Ele se glorifica, pois está cheio de arrogância.

11He glorifies himself, for he is full of arrogance.

12Ele é mentiroso, fraudulento, tranquilizador, lisonjeiro, traiçoeiro, rapsódico, insignificante, desarmonioso, prolixo, sórdido e tímido.

12He is lying, fraudulent, soothing, flattering, treacherous, rhapsodical, trifling, inharmonious, verbose, sordid, and timorous.

13Do seu poder vos livrará Jesus Cristo, que vos fundou sobre a rocha, como pedras escolhidas, bem preparadas para o edifício divino do Pai, e que sois elevados ao alto por Cristo, que foi crucificado por vós, fazendo uso do Espírito Santo como uma corda, e sendo sustentados pela fé, enquanto exaltados pelo amor da terra ao céu, caminhando em companhia daqueles que são imaculados.

13From his power Jesus Christ will deliver you, who has founded you upon the rock, as being chosen stones, well fitted for the divine edifice of the Father, and who are raised up on high by Christ, who was crucified for you, making use of the Holy Spirit as a rope, and being borne up by faith, while exalted by love from earth to heaven, walking in company with those that are undefiled.

14Pois, diz a Escritura: “Bem-aventurados os imaculados no caminho, que andam na lei do Senhor”.

14For, says the Scripture, "Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord".

15Agora o caminho é infalível, a saber, Jesus Cristo.

15Now the way is unerring, namely, Jesus Christ.

16Pois, diz Ele, “Eu sou o caminho e a vida”.

16For, says He, "I am the way and the life".

17E este caminho leva ao Pai.

17And this way leads to the Father.

18Pois “ninguém”, diz Ele, “vem ao Pai senão por Mim”.

18For "no man," says He, "cometh to the Father but by Me".

19Bem-aventurados, então, vocês que são portadores de Deus, portadores do espírito, portadores do templo, portadores da santidade, adornados em todos os aspectos com os mandamentos de Jesus Cristo, sendo “um sacerdócio real, uma nação santa, um povo peculiar”, por cuja conta me regozijo muito, e tive o privilégio, por esta Epístola, de conversar com “os santos que estão em Éfeso, os fiéis em Cristo Jesus”.

19Blessed, then, are ye who are God-bearers, spirit-bearers, temple-bearers, bearers of holiness, adorned in all respects with the commandments of Jesus Christ, being "a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people," on whose account I rejoice exceedingly, and have had the privilege, by this Epistle, of conversing with "the saints which are at Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus".

20Alegro-me, portanto, por vós, por não dares ouvidos à vaidade e não amardes nada segundo a carne, mas segundo Deus.

20I rejoice, therefore, over you, that ye do not give heed to vanity, and love nothing according to the flesh, but according to God.
