1Chapter 3 — Exhortations to unity.

2Não dou ordens a você, como se fosse uma grande pessoa.

2I do not issue orders to you, as if I were some great person.

3Pois embora eu esteja ligado ao nome de Cristo, ainda não sou perfeito em Jesus Cristo.

3For though I am bound for the name of Christ, I am not yet perfect in Jesus Christ.

4Pois agora começo a ser um discípulo e falo com vocês como colegas discípulos comigo.

4For now I begin to be a disciple, and I speak to you as fellow-disciples with me.

5Pois foi necessário que eu fosse estimulado por vocês na fé, na exortação, na paciência e na longanimidade.

5For it was needful for me to have been stirred up by you in faith, exhortation, patience, and long-suffering.

6Mas na medida em que o amor me permite não ficar calado em relação a vocês, tomei a iniciativa de exortá-los primeiro a que todos corram juntos de acordo com a vontade de Deus.

6But inasmuch as love suffers me not to be silent in regard to you, I have therefore taken upon me first to exhort you that ye would all run together in accordance with the will of God.

7Pois mesmo Jesus Cristo, nossa vida inseparável, é a vontade manifestada do Pai; como também os bispos, estabelecidos em todos os lugares até os confins da terra, o são pela vontade de Jesus Cristo.

7For even Jesus Christ, our inseparable life, is the manifested will of the Father; as also bishops, settled everywhere to the utmost bounds of the earth, are so by the will of Jesus Christ.

8Não dou ordens a você, como se fosse uma grande pessoa.

8I do not issue orders to you, as if I were some great person.

9Pois embora eu esteja vinculado ao Seu nome, ainda não sou perfeito em Jesus Cristo.

9For though I am bound for His name, I am not yet perfect in Jesus Christ.

10Pois agora começo a ser discípulo e falo com vocês como meus conservos.

10For now I begin to be a disciple, and I speak to you as my fellow-servants.

11Pois foi necessário que eu fosse admoestado por vocês com fé, exortação, paciência e longanimidade.

11For it was needful for me to have been admonished by you in faith, exhortation, patience, and long-suffering.

12Mas na medida em que o amor me permite não ficar calado em relação a vocês, tomei a iniciativa de exortá-los primeiro a correr juntos de acordo com a vontade de Deus.

12But inasmuch as love suffers me not to be silent in regard to you, I have therefore taken upon me first to exhort you that ye would run together in accordance with the will of God.

13Pois até mesmo Jesus Cristo faz todas as coisas segundo a vontade do Pai, como Ele mesmo declara em determinado lugar: “Faço sempre o que lhe agrada”.

13For even Jesus Christ does all things according to the will of the Father, as He Himself declares in a certain place, "I do always those things that please Him".

14Portanto, convém a nós também viver de acordo com a vontade de Deus em Cristo e imitá-lo como Paulo fez.

14Wherefore it behoves us also to live according to the will of God in Christ, and to imitate Him as Paul did.

15Pois, diz ele: “Sede meus imitadores, assim como eu também sou de Cristo”.

15For, says he, "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ".
