1Capítulo 14 — Exortações à fé e ao amor.

1Chapter 14 — Exhortations to faith and love.

2Nenhuma dessas coisas está escondida de você, se você possuir perfeitamente aquela fé e amor para com Cristo Jesus que são o começo e o fim da vida.

2None of these things is hid from you, if ye perfectly possess that faith and love towards Christ Jesus which are the beginning and the end of life.

3Pois o começo é a fé e o fim é o amor.

3For the beginning is faith, and the end is love.

4Ora, estes dois, estando inseparavelmente ligados, são de Deus, enquanto todas as outras coisas que são necessárias para uma vida santa os seguem.

4Now these two, being inseparably connected together, are of God, while all other things which are requisite for a holy life follow after them.

5Ninguém que faça verdadeiramente uma profissão de fé peca; nem aquele que possui amor odeia ninguém.

5No man truly making a profession of faith sinneth; nor does he that possesses love hate any one.

6A árvore se manifesta pelos seus frutos; portanto, aqueles que professam ser cristãos serão reconhecidos por sua conduta.

6The tree is made manifest by its fruit; so those that profess themselves to be Christians shall be recognised by their conduct.

7Pois não há agora uma exigência de mera profissão, mas que um homem seja encontrado continuando no poder da fé até o fim.

7For there is not now a demand for mere profession, but that a man be found continuing in the power of faith to the end.

8Portanto, nenhum dos artifícios do diabo será escondido de você, se, como Paulo, possuir perfeitamente aquela fé e amor para com Cristo que são o começo e o fim da vida.

8Wherefore none of the devices of the devil shall be hidden from you, if, like Paul, ye perfectly possess that faith and love towards Christ which are the beginning and the end of life.

9O começo da vida é a fé e o fim é o amor.

9The beginning of life is faith, and the end is love.

10E estes dois estando inseparavelmente ligados, aperfeiçoam o homem de Deus; enquanto todas as outras coisas que são necessárias para uma vida santa seguem depois deles.

10And these two being inseparably connected together, do perfect the man of God; while all other things which are requisite to a holy life follow after them.

11Nenhum homem que faça profissão de fé deve pecar, nem alguém possuído de amor odiar seu irmão.

11No man making a profession of faith ought to sin, nor one possessed of love to hate his brother.

12Pois Aquele que disse: “Amarás ao Senhor teu Deus”, disse também: “e ao teu próximo como a ti mesmo”.

12For He that said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God," said also, "and thy neighbour as thyself".

13Aqueles que professam ser de Cristo são conhecidos não apenas pelo que dizem, mas pelo que praticam.

13Those that profess themselves to be Christ's are known not only by what they say, but by what they practise.

14“Pois a árvore se conhece pelos seus frutos”.

14"For the tree is known by its fruit".
