Hebreus 8

1Ora, a suma do que temos dito é que temos um sumo sacerdote tal, que está assentado nos céus à destra do trono da majestade,

1Now of the things which we have spoken {this is} the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

2Ministro do santuário, e do verdadeiro tabernáculo, o qual o Senhor fundou, e não o homem.

2A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. {of the sanctuary: or, of holy things}

3Porque todo o sumo sacerdote é constituído para oferecer dons e sacrifícios; por isso era necessário que este também tivesse alguma coisa que oferecer.

3For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore {it is} of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

4Ora, se ele estivesse na terra, nem tão pouco sacerdote seria, havendo ainda sacerdotes que oferecem dons segundo a lei,

4For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: {there...: or, they are priests}

5Os quais servem de exemplo e sombra das coisas celestiais, como Moisés divinamente foi avisado, estando já para acabar o tabernáculo; porque foi dito: Olha, faze tudo conforme o modelo que no monte se te mostrou.

5Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, {that} thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

6Mas agora alcançou ele ministério tanto mais excelente, quanto é mediador de uma melhor aliança que está confirmada em melhores promessas.

6But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. {covenant: or, testament}

7Porque, se aquela primeira fora irrepreensível, nunca se teria buscado lugar para a segunda.

7For if that first {covenant} had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8Porque, repreendendo-os, lhes diz: Eis que virão dias, diz o Senhor, Em que com a casa de Israel e com a casa de Judá estabelecerei uma nova aliança,

8For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9Não segundo a aliança que fiz com seus pais No dia em que os tomei pela mão, para os tirar da terra do Egito;Como não permaneceram naquela minha aliança,Eu para eles não atentei, diz o Senhor.

9Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10Porque esta é a aliança que depois daqueles diasFarei com a casa de Israel, diz o Senhor; Porei as minhas leis no seu entendimento, E em seu coração as escreverei; E eu lhes serei por Deus, E eles me serão por povo;

10For this {is} the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: {put: Gr. give} {in: or, upon}

11E não ensinará cada um a seu próximo, Nem cada um ao seu irmão, dizendo: Conhece o Senhor; Porque todos me conhecerão, Desde o menor deles até ao maior.

11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12Porque serei misericordioso para com suas iniqüidades, E de seus pecados e de suas prevaricações não me lembrarei mais.

12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13Dizendo Nova aliança, envelheceu a primeira. Ora, o que foi tornado velho, e se envelhece, perto está de acabar.

13In that he saith, A new {covenant}, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old {is} ready to vanish away.
