Gênesis 35

1Depois disse Deus a Jacó: Levanta-te, sobe a Betel, e habita ali; e faze ali um altar ao Deus que te apareceu, quando fugiste da face de Esaú teu irmão.

1And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

2Então disse Jacó à sua família, e a todos os que com ele estavam: Tirai os deuses estranhos, que há no meio de vós, e purificai-vos, e mudai as vossas vestes.

2Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that {were} with him, Put away the strange gods that {are} among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

3E levantemo-nos, e subamos a Betel; e ali farei um altar ao Deus que me respondeu no dia da minha angústia, e que foi comigo no caminho que tenho andado.

3And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

4Então deram a Jacó todos os deuses estranhos, que tinham em suas mãos, e as arrecadas que estavam em suas orelhas; e Jacó os escondeu debaixo do carvalho que está junto a Siquém.

4And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which {were} in their hand, and {all their} earrings which {were} in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which {was} by Shechem.

5E partiram; e o terror de Deus foi sobre as cidades que estavam ao redor deles, e não seguiram após os filhos de Jacó.

5And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that {were} round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

6Assim chegou Jacó a Luz, que está na terra de Canaã (esta é Betel), ele e todo o povo que com ele havia.

6So Jacob came to Luz, which {is} in the land of Canaan, that {is}, Bethel, he and all the people that {were} with him.

7E edificou ali um altar, e chamou aquele lugar El-Betel; porquanto Deus ali se lhe tinha manifestado, quando fugia da face de seu irmão.

7And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother. {Elbethel: that is, The God of Bethel}

8E morreu Débora, a ama de Rebeca, e foi sepultada ao pé de Betel, debaixo do carvalho cujo nome chamou Alom-Bacute.

8But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth. {Allonbachuth: that is, The oak of weeping}

9E apareceu Deus outra vez a Jacó, vindo de Padã-Arã, e abençoou-o.

9And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.

10E disse-lhe Deus: O teu nome é Jacó; não te chamarás mais Jacó, mas Israel será o teu nome. E chamou-lhe Israel.

10And God said unto him, Thy name {is} Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

11Disse-lhe mais Deus: Eu sou o Deus Todo-Poderoso; frutifica e multiplica-te; uma nação, sim, uma multidão de nações sairá de ti, e reis procederão dos teus lombos;

11And God said unto him, I {am} God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

12E te darei a ti a terra que tenho dado a Abraão e a Isaque, e à tua descendência depois de ti darei a terra.

12And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

13E Deus subiu dele, do lugar onde falara com ele.

13And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

14E Jacó pôs uma coluna no lugar onde falara com ele, uma coluna de pedra; e derramou sobre ela uma libação, e deitou sobre ela azeite.

14And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, {even} a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

15E chamou Jacó aquele lugar, onde Deus falara com ele, Betel.

15And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.

16E partiram de Betel; e havia ainda um pequeno espaço de terra para chegar a Efrata, e deu à luz Raquel, e ela teve trabalho em seu parto.

16And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour. {a little...: Heb. a little piece of ground}

17E aconteceu que, tendo ela trabalho em seu parto, lhe disse a parteira: Não temas, porque também este filho terás.

17And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

18E aconteceu que, saindo-se-lhe a alma (porque morreu), chamou-lhe Benoni; mas seu pai chamou-lhe Benjamim.

18And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin. {Benoni: that is, The son of my sorrow} {Benjamin: that is, The son of the right hand}

19Assim morreu Raquel, e foi sepultada no caminho de Efrata; que é Belém.

19And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which {is} Bethlehem.

20E Jacó pôs uma coluna sobre a sua sepultura; esta é a coluna da sepultura de Raquel até o dia de hoje.

20And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that {is} the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.

21Então partiu Israel, e estendeu a sua tenda além de Migdal Eder.

21And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.

22E aconteceu que, habitando Israel naquela terra, foi Rúben e deitou-se com Bila, concubina de seu pai; e Israel o soube. E eram doze os filhos de Jacó.

22And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard {it}. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

23Os filhos de Lia: Rúben, o primogênito de Jacó, depois Simeão e Levi, e Judá, e Issacar e Zebulom;

23The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

24Os filhos de Raquel: José e Benjamim;

24The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:

25E os filhos de Bila, serva de Raquel: Dã e Naftali;

25And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:

26E os filhos de Zilpa, serva de Lia: Gade e Aser. Estes são os filhos de Jacó, que lhe nasceram em Padã-Arã.

26And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these {are} the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.

27E Jacó veio a seu pai Isaque, a Manre, a Quiriate-Arba (que é Hebrom), onde peregrinaram Abraão e Isaque.

27And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which {is} Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

28E foram os dias de Isaque cento e oitenta anos.

28And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

29E Isaque expirou, e morreu, e foi recolhido ao seu povo, velho e farto de dias; e Esaú e Jacó, seus filhos, o sepultaram.

29And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, {being} old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
