Gênesis 25

1E Abraão tomou outra mulher; e o seu nome era Quetura;

1Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name {was} Keturah.

2E deu-lhe à luz Zinrã, Jocsã, Medã, Midiã, Jisbaque e Suá.

2And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

3E Jocsã gerou Seba e Dedã; e os filhos de Dedã foram Assurim, Letusim e Leumim.

3And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

4E os filhos de Midiã foram Efá, Efer, Enoque, Abida e Elda. Estes todos foram filhos de Quetura.

4And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these {were} the children of Keturah.

5Porém Abraão deu tudo o que tinha a Isaque;

5And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

6Mas aos filhos das concubinas que Abraão tinha, deu Abraão presentes e, vivendo ele ainda, despediu-os do seu filho Isaque, enviando-os ao oriente, para a terra oriental.

6But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.

7Estes, pois, são os dias dos anos da vida de Abraão, que viveu cento e setenta e cinco anos.

7And these {are} the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.

8E Abraão expirou, morrendo em boa velhice, velho e farto de dias; e foi congregado ao seu povo;

8Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full {of years}; and was gathered to his people.

9E Isaque e Ismael, seus filhos, sepultaram-no na cova de Macpela, no campo de Efrom, filho de Zoar, heteu, que estava em frente de Manre,

9And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which {is} before Mamre;

10O campo que Abraão comprara aos filhos de Hete. Ali está sepultado Abraão e Sara, sua mulher.

10The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

11E aconteceu depois da morte de Abraão, que Deus abençoou a Isaque seu filho; e habitava Isaque junto ao poço Beer-Laai-Rói.

11And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.

12Estas, porém, são as gerações de Ismael filho de Abraão, que a serva de Sara, Agar, egípcia, deu a Abraão.

12Now these {are} the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:

13E estes são os nomes dos filhos de Ismael, pelos seus nomes, segundo as suas gerações: O primogênito de Ismael era Nebaiote, depois Quedar, Adbeel e Mibsão,

13And these {are} the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

14Misma, Dumá, Massá,

14And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

15Hadade, Tema, Jetur, Nafis e Quedemá.

15Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: {Hadar: or, Hadad}

16Estes são os filhos de Ismael, e estes são os seus nomes pelas suas vilas e pelos seus castelos; doze príncipes segundo as suas famílias.

16These {are} the sons of Ishmael, and these {are} their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.

17E estes são os anos da vida de Ismael, cento e trinta e sete anos, e ele expirou e, morrendo, foi congregado ao seu povo.

17And these {are} the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.

18E habitaram desde Havilá até Sur, que está em frente do Egito, como quem vai para a Assíria; e fez o seu assento diante da face de todos os seus irmãos.

18And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that {is} before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: {and} he died in the presence of all his brethren. {died: Heb. fell}

19E estas são as gerações de Isaque, filho de Abraão: Abraão gerou a Isaque;

19And these {are} the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:

20E era Isaque da idade de quarenta anos, quando tomou por mulher a Rebeca, filha de Betuel, arameu de Padã-Arã, irmã de Labão, arameu.

20And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

21E Isaque orou insistentemente ao Senhor por sua mulher, porquanto era estéril; e o Senhor ouviu as suas orações, e Rebeca sua mulher concebeu.

21And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she {was} barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

22E os filhos lutavam dentro dela; então disse: Se assim é, por que sou eu assim? E foi perguntar ao Senhor.

22And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If {it be} so, why {am} I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.

23E o Senhor lhe disse: Duas nações há no teu ventre, e dois povos se dividirão das tuas entranhas, e um povo será mais forte do que o outro povo, e o maior servirá ao menor.

23And the LORD said unto her, Two nations {are} in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and {the one} people shall be stronger than {the other} people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

24E cumprindo-se os seus dias para dar à luz, eis gêmeos no seu ventre.

24And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, {there were} twins in her womb.

25E saiu o primeiro ruivo e todo como um vestido de pêlo; por isso chamaram o seu nome Esaú.

25And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

26E depois saiu o seu irmão, agarrada sua mão ao calcanhar de Esaú; por isso se chamou o seu nome Jacó. E era Isaque da idade de sessenta anos quando os gerou.

26And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac {was} threescore years old when she bare them.

27E cresceram os meninos, e Esaú foi homem perito na caça, homem do campo; mas Jacó era homem simples, habitando em tendas.

27And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob {was} a plain man, dwelling in tents.

28E amava Isaque a Esaú, porque a caça era de seu gosto, mas Rebeca amava a Jacó.

28And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of {his} venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob. {he...: Heb. venison was in his mouth}

29E Jacó cozera um guisado; e veio Esaú do campo, e estava ele cansado;

29And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he {was} faint:

30E disse Esaú a Jacó: Deixa-me, peço-te, comer desse guisado vermelho, porque estou cansado. Por isso se chamou Edom.

30And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red {pottage}; for I {am} faint: therefore was his name called Edom. {with...: Heb. with that red, with that red pottage} {Edom: that is Red}

31Então disse Jacó: Vende-me hoje a tua primogenitura.

31And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

32E disse Esaú: Eis que estou a ponto de morrer; para que me servirá a primogenitura?

32And Esau said, Behold, I {am} at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? {at...: Heb. going to die}

33Então disse Jacó: Jura-me hoje. E jurou-lhe e vendeu a sua primogenitura a Jacó.

33And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

34E Jacó deu pão a Esaú e o guisado de lentilhas; e ele comeu, e bebeu, e levantou-se, e saiu. Assim desprezou Esaú a sua primogenitura.

34Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised {his} birthright.
