Livro de Gade 8

1O Senhor disse a Gade: “Vá dizer a Davi, meu servo:

1The LORD said to Gad: “Go tell David My servant:

2‘Assim diz o Senhor: ‘Não se glorie o homem poderoso no seu poder.

2‘Thus says the LORD: ‘Let not the mighty man glory in his might.

3Mas aquele que se gloria, glorie-se nisto: que o Meu socorro está com ele.

3But let him that glories glory in this, that My help is with him.

4Então você deve ir e não temer, pois o Senhor está com você.’”

4Then you should go and fear not, for the LORD is with you.’”

5E Gade veio e contou a Davi o que o Senhor tinha dito.

5And Gad came and told David what the LORD had said.

6E Davi disse a Gade: “Conheço a ajuda do Senhor desde a minha juventude.

6And David said to Gad: “I have known the help of the LORD from my youth.

7Pois quem matou o leão e o urso? Quem destruiu os filisteus? Quem destruiu meus inimigos? Não foi com a ajuda de Deus?”

7For who struck down the lion and the bear? Who destroyed the Philistines? Who destroyed my enemies? Was it not by the help of God?”

8E quando o Senhor ouviu isso, ficou muito satisfeito com o coração de Davi.

8And when the LORD heard that, He was very pleased with David’s heart.

9E Ele disse: “Porque David reconheceu a Minha ajuda em vez da sua própria glória, a Minha ajuda habitará na casa de David para sempre.”

9And He said: “Because David has acknowledged My help instead of his own glory, My help will dwell in the house of David forever.”

10E Gade contou a Davi o que o Senhor disse.

10And Gad told David what the LORD said.

11E Davi prostrou-se diante do Senhor e disse: “Bendito seja o Senhor, porque achei favor aos seus olhos”.

11And David bowed down before the LORD and said: “Blessed be the LORD for I have found favor in His eyes.”
