Livro de Gade 7

1Todos os filisteus se reuniram para lutar contra Israel. Havia tantas multidões de filisteus que não podiam ser contados.

1All the Philistines assembled themselves together to fight against Israel. There were so many multitudes of Philistines that they could not be numbered.

2E Davi ficou muito angustiado porque tinha medo dos filisteus.

2And David was greatly distressed because he was afraid of the Philistines.

3E o Senhor disse a Gade: “Vá e diga ao meu servo Davi: ‘Não se preocupe com esses filisteus incircuncisos, porque amanhã eu os entregarei nas suas mãos, junto com os outros opressores que estão com eles’.

3And the LORD said to Gad: “Go and tell David My servant: ‘Do not be worried about these uncircumcised Philistines, because tomorrow I will give them, and those other oppressors with them, into your hand.”

4E Davi disse a Gade: “Não sou digno de todas as misericórdias que o Senhor tem mostrado para comigo, mas bendito seja o nome do Senhor para todo o sempre”.

4And David said to Gad: “I am not worthy of all the mercies that the LORD has shown to me, but blessed be the name of the LORD forever and ever.”

5Naquela noite, um anjo de fogo veio do céu com sua espada desembainhada na mão.

5That night, a fire-angel came from heaven with his drawn sword in his hand.

6E ele atacou o acampamento dos incircuncisos. Foi uma matança tão grande que nenhum deles ficou vivo.

6And he attacked the camp of the uncircumcised. It was such a great slaughter that none of them were left alive.

7E aconteceu que na manhã seguinte foram ter com David e disseram: «Eis que todos os filisteus foram mortos por alguém que se levantou contra eles; nem um só deles ficou vivo.»

7And it came to pass the next morning they came to David saying: “Behold, all the Philistines have been killed by someone who rose up against them; not a single one of them was left alive.”

8E Davi ergueu a voz e disse: "Agora sei que nada pode impedir o Senhor. Ele pode nos salvar de muitos ou de poucos, e Sua salvação pode acontecer num piscar de olhos."

8And David raised his voice and said: “Now I know that nothing can hinder the LORD. He can save us from many or few, and His salvation can be in a blink of an eye.”

9E ele disse: “Bendito és Tu, Senhor, que tens se vingado por nós dos nossos inimigos”.

9And he said: “Blessed are You, O LORD, who has been taking revenge for us on our enemies.”

10E ele ergueu um pilar e o chamou de “Pilar da Vingança” até hoje.

10And he set up a pillar and called it the “Pillar of Revenge” unto this day.
