Livro de Gade 6

1Naqueles dias, um homem de Belém, cidade de Davi, foi a Jerusalém para cumprir o voto que havia feito ao Senhor. Seu nome era Zabad, o Parhi, e ele era da família dos Perezitas.

1In those days a man from Bethlehem, the city of David, went to Jerusalem to pay the vow which he had vowed unto the LORD. His name was Zabad the Parhi, and he was of the family of the Perezites.

2O pai de Zabad estava muito doente, a ponto de morrer, por isso Zabad jurou: “Quando o Senhor curar meu pai de sua doença, pesarei dois talentos de prata e os entregarei à Casa do Senhor, nas mãos do rei Davi”.

2Zabad’s father was very sick, even unto the point of death, so Zabad vowed: “When the LORD heals my father of his sickness, I will weigh out two talents of silver and give them to the House of the LORD, into the hand of King David.”

3E aconteceu que quando ele estava na casa dos pastores no caminho, ele perdeu a bolsa com o dinheiro e ficou chateado.

3And it came to pass, when he was at the house of the shepherds along the way, he lost the pouch with the money in it and he was upset.

4Ele chegou à cidade de Jerusalém, ao centro da cidade, e escreveu em todas as portas estas palavras:

4He came to the city of Jerusalem, into the inner city, and he wrote on all the gates these words:

5“Aquele que encontrar uma bolsa perdida com dois talentos de prata e trazê-la para mim, eu lhe darei um talento de prata como recompensa.”

5“Anyone who finds a lost pouch with two talents of silver and brings it to me I will give him a talent of silver as a reward.”

6Depois de um tempo, um homem da tribo de Dã veio e tinha na mão a bolsa com os talentos de prata que encontrou no caminho e a deu ao dono da bolsa.

6After a while, a man from the tribe of Dan came and had in his hand the pouch with the silver talents that he found along the way and he gave it to the owner of the pouch.

7E o danita disse a Zabad: “Dê-me o talento de prata como você prometeu”.

7And the Danite said to Zabad: “Give me the talent of silver as you promised.”

8E o Zabad disse: “Não, na verdade havia três talentos na minha bolsa e você já roubou um talento; anotei o número errado por engano”.

8And the Zabad said: “No, there were actually three talents in my pouch and you have already stolen one talent; I mistakenly wrote down the wrong number.”

9Então ambos vieram e ficaram diante do rei.

9So both of them came and stood before the king.

10E o rei disse a Zabad: “Jura-me pelo Senhor, que realmente tinhas três talentos de prata na tua bolsa”. E Zabad jurou-lhe pelo Senhor.

10And the king said to the Zabad: “Swear unto me by the LORD, that you truly had three talents of silver in your pouch.” And Zabad swore to him by the LORD.

11E o rei continuou, dizendo ao danita: “Jura-me pelo Senhor que só encontraste dois talentos de prata na bolsa”. E ele lhe jurou pelo Senhor.

11And the king continued, saying to the Danite: “Swear unto me by the LORD, that you only found two talents of silver the pouch.” And he swore to him by the LORD.

12E Davi disse a Zabad: “Devolva a bolsa com os talentos ao danita, porque este é o dinheiro que o Senhor lhe deu por acaso.

12And David said to Zabad: “Give the pouch with the talents back to the Danite, because this is his money that the LORD has given to him by chance.

13Agora vá e escreva nos portões da cidade: ‘Quem encontrar a bolsa com três talentos deverá trazê-la para mim’, porque esta bolsa não é sua.”

13Now, go and write on the city gates: ‘Whoever finds the pouch with three talents should bring it to me,’ because this is not your pouch.”

14E David tomou da mão do zabad a bolsa com os talentos de prata e deu-a ao danita.

14And David took the pouch with the talents of silver from the hand of the Zabad and gave it to the Danite.

15E o danita inclinou a cabeça e prostrou-se por terra e disse: “Viva meu senhor, o rei Davi, para sempre.”

15And the Danite bowed his head and prostrated himself to the earth and said: “Long live my lord, King David, forever.”

16E todo o Israel ouviu falar deste julgamento e maravilhou-se com David e ficou muito feliz; porque viram que ele estava cheio da sabedoria de Deus.

16And all Israel heard of this judgment and they marveled over David and were overjoyed; because they saw that he was full of the wisdom of God.
